Background / History
Previous Life and Transmigration
Chu Aotian was a small-time thug whose previous life involved killing and exploiting others. Cornered by a police dragnet, he took someone down with him in a desperate final act. After awakening in the body of a young war orphan, he treats transmigration as another opportunity to pursue his own desires without moral restraint 105 108 134.
His Heroine Conquest System offers rewards for romantic missions, with greater rewards tied to a target's strength, charm, and importance to the story. Chu immediately plans to pursue female characters he recognizes from Naruto. Unbeknownst to him, Yuya and Silver Dragon detect his arrival and intend to eventually seize the system's Dao resonance for the Naruto World's Heavenly Way 105 106.
Konoha Academy
Orochimaru's recommendation secures Chu admission to the Ninja Academy despite a preliminary aptitude rating of C. His theatrical introduction alienates his classmates, and Kushina rejects his first attempt to sit beside her. He subsequently adopts an apologetic, polite persona to gain her permission 108 109 112.
Chu tries to arrange a heroic intervention when three boys bully Kushina, but waits for her to weaken them first. Yuya, Kaguya, and Silver Dragon arrive before he can capitalize on the fight. The boys then turn on Chu, beating him severely enough that he must sacrifice an appearance point for emergency system treatment. Anbu witnesses his recovery and increases surveillance 111 112.
Unable to make progress with Kushina, Chu selects Hashimoto Yoshiko as his first conquest target. He wins her trust through food, compliments, and a declaration of affection, then abandons and insults her as soon as her voluntary embrace completes his advanced mission. The rewards raise his combat power close to Genin level 114 115.
During a practical duel, Chu's upgraded reconnaissance reveals Yuya's overwhelming power and hidden identity as the Heavenly Emperor. Chu faints before combat begins; the match ends without a result. Yuya later erases his memories of the incident, but Chu still leaves Konoha and uses the system to travel toward the Land of Rain in search of Konan 117 118 121.
Travels and Infiltration
Chu spends three years wandering before reaching the Land of Rain, followed by another three years searching for Konan and her companions. He nearly dies from starvation and warfare despite purchasing navigation assistance. Along the way, he exploits women for system rewards and kills almost all of them afterward to prevent complications 134.
After obtaining a tracking system, Chu finds Nagato, Yahiko, and Konan and poses as an ordinary war orphan. His enhanced charm wins over Yahiko and Nagato, but Konan remains hostile. He conceals his resources, eats his fill privately, and brings back small amounts of fresh food as though he has merely scavenged them 134 137.
Nagato's rapidly increasing strength and the group's decision to seek Jiraiya as a teacher make Chu fear that his opportunity is closing. Rather than train alongside them, he plans to assault Konan, steal Nagato's Rinnegan, and eliminate the witnesses 134 136.
Betrayal and Capture
Konan recognizes inconsistencies in Chu's behavior and persuades her friends to test him. When he returns with a poisoned feast, they secretly replace their portions and give him the contaminated food. Chu reveals his intentions before discovering that the children are conscious and he has ingested his own neurotoxin 137 138.
Despite impaired chakra circulation, Chu pursues Nagato and eventually overcomes him after Yahiko and Konan return to help. He then promises to spare the trio if Nagato removes his own eyes, while privately intending to kill them regardless. His Heartfelt Submission skill helps pressure the exhausted Nagato toward compliance 139 140.
Madara intervenes before Nagato surrenders the Rinnegan. He immobilizes Chu, reads his thoughts, and exposes the adult soul beneath his child's body. Acting on the Heavenly Emperor's instructions, Madara later removes Chu's eyes. Orochimaru recognizes his former subject by a tracking mark and takes him away for questioning and treatment 141 142.
Appearance
- Initially handsome but physically frail: His looks compare favorably with Minato's, but his malnourished body is scrawny and lacks chakra 108 112.
- System-enhanced demeanor: Appearance and temperament purchases give him a gentler, more courteous bearing without changing his underlying intentions 115.
- Later appearance cap: He raises his looks to the maximum allowed by his current life tier; further upgrades require that tier to advance 134.
- Distinctive eyes and expression: His enhanced eyes are described as brilliant and star-like, while his polished smile conceals greed and hostility 137.
- Loss of eyes: Madara removes both eyes during their final documented encounter 142.
Personality
Chu is entitled, predatory, and self-centered. He views familiar female characters as prizes and their affection as a resource for advancement. His treatment of Yoshiko shows how readily he can imitate warmth: he sustains an attentive friendship until receiving the reward, then immediately reveals his contempt 105 108 115.
His bravado is tempered by fear of pain, death, and retaliation. He delays helping Kushina until intervention seems safer, conceals the truth about his beating, and avoids confronting his bullies even after surpassing their strength because he fears their families 111 113 117.
Chu strongly prefers shortcuts to training. He gives up chakra-control practice after a month of failed tree climbing and relies on purchased techniques instead. His confidence in remembered story events also discourages investigation of the changed world, leaving him ignorant of Madara's position and the forces monitoring him 134 135.
Abilities & Skills
Heroine Conquest System
The system converts conquest missions into romance points, which Chu exchanges for goods, attributes, chakra-related benefits, techniques, and bloodline abilities. Unlike systems described as exploiting their hosts, his is explicitly an opportunity born from the Great Dao without a hidden agenda 113 114.
- Target evaluation: Displays conquest difficulty and value; rewards increase with a target's charm, status, strength, and plot influence 105 114.
- Mission progression: A new conquest target remains locked until the current advanced mission is completed 114.
- Shop purchases: Includes money, food, stat points, chakra reserves, Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, Taijutsu, and Kekkei Genkai 114.
- Increasing costs: Attribute upgrades become progressively more expensive 114 115.
- Emergency healing: Repairs serious injuries in exchange for a randomly selected attribute point; Chu's first treatment costs one appearance point 112.
- Limits: It does not guarantee survival, and its reconnaissance can fail against beings beyond its available energy or categories 113 114 117.
Charm and Mental Influence
Chu's strongest advantages are system-bought charm effects that subtly encourage affection and trust 138.
- Dashing elegance: Influences people who value outward appearance 138.
- Refined courtesy: Influences people who value inner temperament 138.
- Additional traits: His profile lists striking good looks, kingly aura, and natural allure 138.
- Heartfelt Submission: Helps coerce Nagato into considering surrender of the Rinnegan under threat 140.
- Resistance: Konan remains unaffected following her dream encounter and warning, allowing her to recognize flaws in his performance 136 137.
Reconnaissance Skill
Chu uses system scans to inspect names, ages, abilities, and combat power before committing to confrontations 109 138.
- Distinguishes ordinary combat power from potential bursts, as shown in Kushina's and Nagato's readings 109 134.
- Initially returns question marks and an insufficient-energy warning for Yuya 114.
- An upgraded version detects extraordinary readings for Yuya and Silver Dragon, though Chu initially mistakes them for errors 117.
Ninja Techniques and Physical Combat
Chu purchases the Three Basic Techniques, Shuriken Throwing, Taijutsu improvements, and all twelve hand-seal methods. Orochimaru's reports confirm his rapid acquisition of Genin-comparable chakra and throwing skills 115 117 119.
- Durability: Heavy investment in defense lets him withstand repeated repulsive attacks from the inexperienced Nagato 139.
- Speed: Even poisoned, he can catch Nagato and overpower Yahiko and Konan 139.
- Technical weakness: He struggles with chakra circulation and can barely perform techniques he has not purchased through the system 134.
- Poor chakra control: Fails to complete tree-climbing practice after a month 134.
Equipment / Items
- 3D holographic navigation system — Used during his travels, though it does not prevent him from nearly becoming lost 134.
- Tracking navigation system — Eventually leads him to Konan, Nagato, and Yahiko 134.
- Neurotoxin and sleeping pills — Prepared to incapacitate the trio; his neurotoxin instead disrupts his own chakra circulation and nerves 136 138.
- Aphrodisiac — Purchased for his planned assault on Konan; spending points on it contributes to his lack of an antidote when poisoned 138.
- Orochimaru's tracking mark — Remains on his body after he leaves Konoha and identifies him as the escaped experimental subject 142.
Relationships
- Otsutsuki Yuya — An object of jealousy and fear. Yuya monitors Chu, plans to extract his system, erases his memory of the Academy confrontation, and sends Madara to protect the Rain children 106 114 121 141.
- Orochimaru — His guarantor and experimenter. Orochimaru studies his return from death and rapid improvement, then regains custody of him 112 114 119 142.
- Kushina Uzumaki — An unsuccessful conquest target. She initially rejects him, briefly accepts him as a deskmate, and later moves away 108 109 113.
- Minato Namikaze — A self-appointed romantic rival whom Chu resents because of his remembered relationship with Kushina 108.
- Hashimoto Yoshiko — His first completed conquest. She sincerely trusts him, but he exploits her affection for rewards and cruelly discards her 114 115.
- Konan — His principal target in the Land of Rain. Her resistance to his charm and careful observations expose his intentions and reverse his poisoning scheme 134 137 138.
- Nagato — A temporary companion whom Chu targets for his Rinnegan. Chu fears his growth and attempts to force him to surrender the eyes 134 139 140.
- Yahiko — Initially trusts and defends Chu, then turns against him after discovering his betrayal 136 138 139.
- Madara Uchiha — Stops Chu's attack, exposes his hidden identity, and removes his eyes 141 142.
