With Manda's "help," Sasuke managed to survive Deidara's self-destruction.
But when Itachi heard that Deidara had used self-destruction against Sasuke, he rushed straight out. Even Kisame, who followed behind him, couldn't keep up.
Kisame was baffled. "Hasn't Mr. Itachi always been in poor health? Huh? Mr. Itachi, wait for me!"
While Kisame was still letting his thoughts wander behind him, Itachi was almost out of sight.
Itachi hurried nonstop to the site of Deidara and Sasuke's battle, but once the two of them arrived and saw the scene before them, he fell silent.
Even the sky darkened, and rain soon began to fall. Itachi surveyed the traces of their battle around him. There was truly nothing left at all. Deidara's self-destruction had blasted everything away.
As the rain continued to fall, Kisame noticed that Itachi had been standing there for a long time and couldn't help reminding him.
"Mr. Itachi, are you thinking about your little brother? But getting soaked in the rain isn't good for your health."
Kisame stepped forward to shield Itachi from the rain. Looking at him, he sensed loneliness, sorrow, and an emotion he couldn't quite name.
Kisame found it strange. Mr. Itachi had clearly slaughtered the entire Uchiha Clan, yet he still couldn't stop worrying about Sasuke. Sure enough, Mr. Itachi really was a gentle man.
Seemingly unwilling to let Kisame notice anything unusual about him, Itachi said nothing and simply walked away.
Kisame wasn't upset. He hurried after him.
But as they walked, Itachi felt something beneath his foot. As the rain washed over it, the object emerged, and the moment he saw it, he thought of Sasuke.
That was right-it was Sasuke's Golden Chelsea boot. Sasuke had run so hard while escaping that he'd lost his shoe.
