Sasuke arrived at the former Uchiha base. Itachi was already sitting on a stone chair.
When he saw Sasuke arrive, Itachi opened his eyes, ending his feigned sleep.
"How far can you see with those Sharingan?"
Sitting there, Itachi posed the question. Sasuke thought Itachi was mocking him, showing off his Mangekyō Sharingan.
"You want to know how far I can see? Heh. Right now, I can see you dying by my hand."
Sasuke answered Itachi with a cold sneer.
But Itachi truly hadn't expected Sasuke to miss his meaning. He had wanted to take the opportunity to explain the Mangekyō Sharingan to him, too. His foolish little brother always said the most tactless things.
All he could do was play along with Sasuke.
"Oh? My death? Then let me see whether you can make that happen now."
With that, the two began to fight, their taijutsu clash underway.
Itachi was still Itachi. Even tormented by illness and holding back considerably, he was more than Sasuke could handle. A few flicks of his kunai knocked the Kusanagi Sword out of Sasuke's hand.
Sasuke put some distance between them and unleashed the ninjutsu Chidori.
A sound like chirping birds rang out, but Sasuke saw that Itachi remained unmoved.
In the middle of his charge, he suddenly changed his technique, turning Chidori into Chidori Stream and slamming it into the ground, sending it spreading toward Itachi.
Faced with this move, Itachi had no choice but to jump out of the way. But Sasuke was already waiting for him on the ceiling, and Itachi had nothing to push off against in midair.
The Kusanagi Sword pierced straight through his body. Sasuke's combat skills were undeniably impressive. In the blink of an eye, he had already planned his next attack.
"Sasuke, you've grown stronger."
