The two began fighting. Sasuke pulled back and hurled shuriken, but Itachi blocked every one with a kunai.
But Itachi was still Itachi. Even while fighting Sasuke, he could form hand seals in an instant and summon a shadow clone to attack him. Sasuke, however, still had his Cursed Seal, and he had learned quite a few of Orochimaru's tricks.
A large white snake emerged from Sasuke's Cursed Seal, blocked Itachi's attack, then lunged at Itachi.
Itachi had no choice but to retreat. Sasuke thought he would finally get a moment to breathe, only to be stunned by Itachi's next move.
After dodging Sasuke's attack, Itachi activated his Mangekyō Sharingan, appeared before Sasuke in an instant, and planted a kick on him.
He kicked Sasuke into the wall so hard he could not have been pried out.
"Forgive me, Sasuke. I'll be taking this light."
As he spoke, he gouged out one of Sasuke's Sharingan eyes and casually dropped it into disinfectant.
That performance of Itachi's truly deserved an award for best actor.
Pain struck instantly. Sasuke clutched his eye in agony, stared in disbelief at the blood on his hand, and forced his Cursed Seal of Heaven into its second state.
But Itachi still seized an opening and used a clone to restrain Sasuke. As Itachi slowly approached, his two fingers came within a hair's breadth of gouging out Sasuke's remaining Sharingan.
Sasuke, however, concentrated all the power of his Cursed Seal into his remaining Sharingan. Immediately afterward, the space around him began to shatter.
Itachi had never imagined that his once-infallible Tsukuyomi would fail again. The first time had been against that freak Meihui, and this time it was his own younger brother, Sasuke. Surely he knew what his brother was capable of?
