Background / History
Harry was raised by the Dursleys after the deaths of James and Lily Potter. Dumbledore states that he deliberately placed Harry with Lily’s relatives so Lily’s love charm would remain active; he also believed the hardship and suppressed magic would increase Harry’s potential without allowing him to become an Obscurus. Harry is additionally revealed to be a living Horcrux, carrying a cold, ominous magic intertwined with his own. 75 162
Before Hogwarts, Harry is exceptionally thin but already possesses Magic Power 30 and high-level Parseltongue. His own magic is described as pure and full of vitality despite his abusive upbringing. 74 75
At Hogwarts, Harry is sorted into Ravenclaw rather than Slytherin. He becomes a leading first-year due to his reputation, early classroom success, defeat of Quirrell, and the attention of Hogwarts staff. 121 162 He later joins Ravenclaw’s Quidditch team as Seeker and receives a Nimbus 2000. 131 140
Appearance
Harry is initially notably small and thin for his age, described as “like a little girl” while struggling with his luggage aboard the Hogwarts Express. Later magical training and physical transformations make him remarkably strong and athletic. 77 655
- Closely resembles his father, James Potter, a resemblance that contributes to Petunia Dursley’s hostility. 46
- Wears square-framed glasses; Draco gives him a waterproof pair for his twelfth birthday. 281
- Can undergo dramatic physical changes through transformative magic, including Dragonification. 655 733
Personality
Harry begins as hesitant and insecure, a lasting effect of his upbringing, but remains curious and willing to learn. Ryan considers him naturally suited to Ravenclaw because he retains academic confidence even before receiving a proper magical education. 20 77
He grows more analytical and less emotionally impulsive than his counterpart in the original timeline. He works with Ron and Ginny to solve the Triwizard Tournament’s second-task riddle and later seeks Divination training to better understand his visions. 398 695
Harry also demonstrates restraint and moral conviction. He refuses Draco’s suggestion to frame Dudley with magic, and later surrenders himself to Voldemort despite the shock this causes among Hogwarts students. 221 771
Abilities & Skills
Parseltongue
Harry’s Parseltongue is among his earliest documented talents.
- Recorded at Lv. 5 (34%) before Hogwarts. 74
- Communicates with the black snake curses guarding Gaunt House. 745
- Is recognized by the Gaunt House’s protections as the Heir of Slytherin. 745
- Harry believes the talent is connected to Peverell and Gaunt lineage after learning of his family’s links to both houses. 546
Seer Abilities and the Third Eye
Harry develops precognitive perception after absorbing traces of Ryan’s magic.
- Foresees a powerful silver-eyed wizard and worries about the vision’s meaning. 186
- Can glimpse the names of powerful wizards, an ability connected to traits copied from Ryan. 398
- His Third Eye awakening causes involuntary spacing out and brief mental freezes. 739
- His foresight is limited; Ryan states that Harry’s initial prediction of him was a one-time reaction and cannot be repeated. 186
Love Magic and Phoenix Metamorphosis
Lily’s sacrifice remains central to Harry’s magical composition.
- His body and soul are wrapped in selfless maternal love magic. 75
- He summons Fawkes and a second Phoenix through the Patronus Charm; the second Phoenix enters his body rather than vanishing. 216
- Lily’s charm ultimately retains Phoenix Metamorphosis within him permanently after reacting to Ryan’s implanted magic. 217
- The Phoenix form can house consciousness in a false body, but Harry does not gain the immortality associated with Ryan’s version. 217 485
Transformative Magic
Harry’s physical transformations develop far beyond ordinary spellwork.
- The Popeye Transformation greatly enhances his strength and speed, exceeding Professor McGonagall’s expectations for the spell. 655
- He improves in both Transfiguration and Animagus training. 846
- His Dragonification can be performed independently, rather than requiring a Fire Dragon connection. 733
- His later magical repertoire includes dark Slytherin curses, a Nether Dragon, Phoenix magic, and dragon-derived power. 835
Magic Imbuement and Deception
Ryan identifies Harry’s transformed magical nature as being associated with lies and deception.
- His Magic Imbuement manifests a mature holly Contract Tree that becomes his own image. 561
- Ryan characterizes Harry’s resulting ability as deception-oriented, shaped by a life surrounded by falsehoods. 560
- At higher magical transformation levels, this ability is suggested to have potential approaching omnipotence. 560
Elemental Absorption
During Wind-magic training, Harry enters an unexpected meditative state.
- Rather than becoming wind, he becomes still and rooted, generating an invisible magnetic field around himself. 736
- A magical blade formed by Dumbledore dissipates before reaching him. 736
- He absorbs the thermal energy of Dumbledore’s immense Flame Charm without igniting the surrounding grass. 736
Resurrection Stone Inheritance
Harry meets the conditions to inherit the Resurrection Stone.
- His Peverell bloodline, justice-oriented heart, and demigod-level magic allow the Stone to recognize him. 747
- After his darker self absorbs Voldemort’s remnant soul, it transforms into a black snake and consumes the ring’s curse, restoring the artifact to its original form. 746
