After two hours of traveling, Chihane and the others finally reached the Capital of the Land of Fire before noon.
As soon as they arrived, Hiruzen Sarutobi led Chihane and the others straight toward the Daimyo's Residence.
Along the way, Chihane noticed how clean the streets were and how prosperous the shops of every trade seemed. Even the homeless, so common elsewhere in the Ninja World, were rarely seen on the streets here.
The Capital of the Land of Fire certainly lived up to its reputation. It truly deserved to be called the most prosperous place in the Land of Fire.
Even Konoha, which Chihane had always thought was the most prosperous place around, fell well short of it.
Although Konoha had no homeless people either, the difference in population was significant.
Konoha's entire population amounted to only two or three hundred thousand, while the Capital of the Land of Fire, as the country's safest and most prosperous city, had at least two or three million residents.
Maintaining such prosperity with a population that large was enough to show just how many resources and how much money the Daimyo controlled.
That discovery made Chihane's eyes light up. The more prosperous this place was, the better. It would all belong to them eventually anyway.
It was almost noon, so Chihane suggested that they eat lunch before meeting the Daimyo. Hiruzen Sarutobi, however, disagreed.
He felt that doing so would be rather disrespectful to the Daimyo. Besides, if they delayed their visit to eat lunch, they would probably arrive just as the Daimyo was sitting down to his own meal.
After eating, the Daimyo would take his customary afternoon nap, which would leave them waiting several more hours.
