If "Clown" wanted to be even more vile, he could wait until a player had finally managed to kill all the other players, put an end to that endless chase, and found the hidden "Clown" after untold hardships, only to tell that player with feigned regret:

Judging by the twisted sense of humor "Clown" had displayed so far, that was entirely possible.
After all, the Mist Game had never guaranteed that at least one player would clear an Instance once it began. There had been Instances where everyone was wiped out, with no survivors.
"Besides..." Bo Yi offered another advantage of working together. "If we cooperate, only one person needs to keep watch at any given time. Everyone else can take the opportunity to rest." That held an irresistible appeal for a player who still had dark circles under his eyes from lack of sleep. Especially with Bo Yi and Mitian, both still brimming with energy, standing there as living proof.
"But..." Although the player found nothing wrong with Bo Yi's reasoning, a trace of hesitation remained on his face.
