The car hadn't stopped once along the way. Even Lin Yi had no idea where they were now.
The Anomalous Object Compass pointed toward his father, and Bai Le was also in the car, helping them find their way by feel, so that made things somewhat safer.
Blind Cheng had dealt with almost all the Mist Slaves they encountered along the way by himself.
As it turned out, having Blind Cheng along did have its benefits.
Outside, the sky gradually darkened, and visibility dropped even further. Even the headlights barely helped.
Eventually, they stopped by the roadside. Lin Yi switched off the lights and engine, then looked back. "We'll rest here tonight. If you need to use the bathroom, do it right by the car door. You have to stay within sight!"
"Goddamn, these Mist Slaves are a real pain in the ass."
Blind Cheng got out and stretched beside the door, then turned back and asked, "We've been driving all this time. Where are we now?"
"No idea."
Lin Yi shook his head. "The Mist Slaves rely on this fog, so there should be plenty more of them. I'm guessing Bai Le's [luck] kicked in, which is why we haven't encountered that many. Besides, there aren't many of us, so we don't attract too many Mist Slaves."
"Not bad. That [luck] can even keep Aberrations from coming after us. Fuck, Bai Le, you're actually useful for something."
Blind Cheng turned toward Bai Le and offered him a word of praise.
Bai Le scratched his head with a goofy chuckle, then opened the door and started taking a piss right outside it.
Lin Yi brought the food over from the back seat and said to the two at the door, "Let's eat something first. We won't keep watch
