Darrow Hill Vocational Skills Training School.
It was a sprawling, comprehensive school at the foot of Darrow Hill.
Viewed from outside, its gray-white stone walls stretched away in both directions, seemingly without end.
It was considerably larger than originally planned. Rhode had only intended to build a Magic School here, so all he would have needed were a few Magic Towers modeled after those at Durnholde Keep, along with some student dormitories.
But once he decided to make it a comprehensive school, he needed not only more teaching buildings and dormitories, but also all sorts of supporting facilities.
These included wooden posts for melee training, targets for ranged practice, and even engineering workshops-Puzik was very interested in training engineering technicians and was willing to join the teaching staff, so the school had added a program in goblin engineering and automation.
Considering that these were all important skills for both construction and combat in the future, Rhode had agreed.
Goblin-engineered excavators had played a major role in building the school. In future wars, their engineering tanks, aircraft, muskets, bombs, and other inventions would all have their uses too.
With engineering already on offer, Rhode even considered adding more vocational subjects, such as herbalism, blacksmithing, and tailoring.
If more people mastered these skills, the army's future logistics would be better assured.
After all, an army needed enormous quantities of medicine, weapons, and equipment.
And so the school kept growing, and its walls kept getting longer.
Now, beyond those walls, the opening ceremony for Darrow Hill Technical School was being held in the square at the very center of the campus.
Standing amid a row of hostesses holding red silk ribbons, Rhode smiled warmly and snipped off a large decorative ribbon ball. Thunderous applause erupted across the square.
