Before long, the two arrived at the entrance to Icecrown Citadel.
After all, Rhode could fly now. Carrying someone was easy enough.
The entrance was freezing.
The iron doors were dozens of meters tall, towering like a city wall.
The Scourge monsters here were often ten or so meters tall, so building everything this big made perfect sense.
"No guards?" Rhode looked around.
"Yes. They want to lure their enemies deeper inside," Gadd said.
"Then how... do we open the doors?"
"Just give the right password."
As he spoke, Gadd had already walked up to the entrance.
"Open sesame."
A deep rumble sounded, and the doors swung open to either side.
"That's it?" Rhode had certainly learned something new.
The design of Icecrown Citadel's entrance was ridiculously childish!
"That's it." Gadd nodded. "Please go in, Archmage. There are no guards inside either."
Without replying, Rhode stepped straight inside.
"Whoa, it really is cold."
If the mountaintops of Icecrown Glacier were already bitterly cold, then the chill inside Icecrown Citadel cut straight to the bone.
Behind Rhode, Gadd sneered inwardly.
Of course you feel cold!
In such extreme cold, even an Archmage like you can only use thirty percent of your strength!
The members of the Scourge all possessed death power, so this environment did not affect them.
Which means this place will soon become your grave!
Gadd had yet to attack because he wanted to play it safe.
What if he attacked rashly, only to discover that Rhode was so exceptionally gifted that even thirty percent of his strength was enough to defeat him?
He could not take that risk.
Knowing when to lie low was how Gadd had survived this long.
He knew that a powerful undead creature was waiting for intruders just a short distance beyond the entrance!
