History

Formation and Early Recruitment

Li Chen initially describes Heaven Beyond Heaven as an organization he intends to establish. At its introduction, it consists only of himself, Wine Fox, and the Villagers. His acquisition of Sword City’s struggling academy gives the faction an educational base: he renames it Cloudtop Academy and retains its five remaining teachers through high salaries in exchange for ten years of service and compliance with his plans 16.

Dugu Bo becomes a Guest Elder after accepting treatment for his poisoning in exchange for five years of service. His agreement preserves considerable independence: he will assist as he sees fit rather than serve as an ordinary subordinate. He also permits Li Chen to use the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well’s medicinal garden without uprooting its plants 21.

The Nine Heart Begonia Ye Family joins after Li Chen changes its martial soul’s numerical limit and resolves the resulting confrontation with the world consciousness. This influx prompts him to develop the organization’s rank structure and contribution-based promotion system 37 38 39.

Public Establishment

After Cloudtop Academy wins the Soul Master Tournament, Li Chen announces that Heaven Beyond Heaven has taken control of Douluo Star and that killing soul beasts will no longer yield Soul Rings or Soul Bones. Wine Fox recruits additional strength for the planned assault, including the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King. She, Lan Xi, and the whale king subsequently confront Bibi Dong after her Rakshasa ascension. By Li Chen’s return to Sky City a year later, the Divine Realm has been fully devoured 85 88 94.
