At its core, this world still worshipped power.
And so that had become his most important consideration.
The Captain's gaze was conflicted as he said hoarsely:
"At the last meeting, when you bestowed godhood so freely, I thought you were only joking. But I really never imagined that perhaps you meant every word-that you truly intended to push things in that direction."
To let deities walk the earth once more.
Lynn opened his eyes, looked up, and said:
"An age without gods was indeed a beautiful thing. What that Great Lord did was also a decision suited to that era."
"But we both know that without external enemies, it might indeed have been a vision we could have continued pursuing indefinitely. Now, though, we have a far more terrifying enemy, and those restrictions are no longer a remedy for the world."
Lynn's gaze was conflicted.
Perhaps the final confrontation would require only one or two people.
But who would that person be?
Before someone capable of turning the tide appeared, how could he save the Main Universe and keep this world on the verge of collapse clinging to life?
"I can only rely on everyone."
This was destined to be an undertaking of immense scope.
It could hardly be accomplished overnight.
But he had to push it forward as quickly as possible.
Because time would only work against them more and more.
The Captain looked into his resolute yet conflicted eyes, then finally said hoarsely:
"Whatever you intend to do, I support you. The others in Dark Night City will surely stand by you as they always have. At least on that count, you can rest easy."
Lynn smiled.
"I know. You're the only family I can rely on in this Hell."
Constantine stood and said hoarsely:
"Let's go
