"We're in trouble." Zhao Qing and the others were trapped in the launch passage, and he did not know the warship's detailed internal layout very well.
All he could see was a tightly sealed door bearing special markings in the passage ahead. The flashlight's white beam pierced the darkness and shone against the wall, revealing not a single seam, nowhere they could get a grip.
"There's more than one connecting door in the launch passage. There might be an emergency manual hatch somewhere else. Look, there's a structural diagram here!"
Attack Team member Wang Min had found something. He pointed toward the floor beneath his feet, where a set of layout diagrams had been etched into the wall.
It depicted the structures around this passage. Everyone gathered around and found a marked emergency passage that could be opened manually.
"This should be the way!"
They followed the straight passage for a hundred meters or so before a yellow-marked area suddenly entered their helmet displays.
"That's it!"
They went over, crouched down, and twisted open the fasteners at all four corners. Lifting the access panel revealed two levers underneath.
The levers were labeled on either side: the left opened it, the right closed it. Repeatedly pulling the lever would open the hatch.
As they worked the long lever on the left over and over, the floor began to move, revealing a doorway as tall as a person.
Even the flashlight beams could not reach the end of the pitch-black opening. They squeezed straight through, got their bearings, and headed toward the power core.
As long as nothing was wrong with the warship's core fusion reactor, they could simply restart the warship's systems.
If there was a problem with the reactor, they would restart the fusion reactor.
