Before becoming Conan, Kudo Shinichi was Tokyo’s celebrated high school detective, widely known as the “Savior of the Japanese Police.” Inspector Megure routinely sought his deductions, while crowds treated his arrival at murder scenes like a celebrity appearance 2. His investigative rivalry with forensic specialist Lin Xinyi began when Lin repeatedly solved details that Shinichi had not yet reached, damaging Shinichi’s public reputation despite his own considerable skill 5 23 27 37.

After Gin’s drug reduced his body to that of an elementary-school child, Shinichi was found and taken home by Lin Xinyi.
