Yu Lin Bloodhawk helped the Elves hold off the Orcs, then arranged refugee settlements and plans for Quel'Danil Mountain Valley while preparing to seek a cure for arcane addiction. The arc ended with Sylvanas asking Yu Lin for insight as the Orcs advanced toward Menethil Harbor.

• Yu Lin Bloodhawk used traps, terrain, and coordinated attacks to help the Elves and Wildhammer Dwarves destroy the Orcs’ Infernals and halt their advance at Gourd Waist.
• Yu Lin Bloodhawk agreed to trade with the Orcs, then withdrew his forces after the Wildhammer civilians reached Menethil Harbor.
• Yu Lin Bloodhawk arranged transport and shelter for Wildhammer Dwarves and Proudmoore refugees, and discovered that grafted breadfruit trees in Quel'Danil Mountain Valley had begun budding.
• Yu Lin Bloodhawk and the Council planned elf villages and a fortress at the valley entrance, while assigning workers and trolls to expand settlement and food production.
• Yu Lin Bloodhawk told Alleria he would travel to Kalimdor to seek a way to ease the high elves’ arcane addiction, and Alleria arranged for the Old Cleric to join him.
• Five elven gryphon riders reported that Orc legions, ogres, and death knights had entered the Wetlands, while Sylvanas later warned that Orcs were hauling catapults toward Menethil Harbor.
• Yu Lin Bloodhawk welcomed Alleria, Sylvanas, and the officers to a hot-pot meal, where he explained the Feast at Hong Gate and discussed Xiang Yu’s defeat and The Art of War.

Yu Lin Bloodhawk helped Sylvanas and the defenders prepare Menethil for the Orc assault, then fought alongside them as the city’s walls and defenses crumbled. The arc ended with Sylvanas confronting a Death Knight while a summoned Succubus ensnared Yu Lin Bloodhawk.

• Yu Lin Bloodhawk warned Sylvanas and Alleria about the Orcs’ catapults and proposed ways to defend Menethil, evacuate its people, and retreat if necessary.
• Yu Lin Bloodhawk agreed to shelter forty thousand refugees in The Hinterlands, while the Orc army surrounded Menethil and began its assault.
• Sylvanas kept Yu Lin Bloodhawk in Menethil as her deputy, and he helped the defenders prepare for the attack before the first catapults struck.
• The Orcs breached Menethil’s walls with Infernals and pressed through the city as Alleria, Daelin, Sylvanas, and Yu Lin Bloodhawk coordinated the defense.

Sylvanas and Alleria led the elves through the Wetlands as the Alliance pursued the retreating Orcs, while Yu Lin Bloodhawk pursued his own plans away from the front. The allies broke through the Orc defenses, but the Death Knights escaped toward the mountain road as Alleria prepared to confront the undead horde.

• Sylvanas and Yu Lin Bloodhawk captured a Death Knight and Succubus, then joined Alleria at the harbor as the allies prepared to burn Menethil City.
• Alleria’s forces pursued the weakened Orc army through the Wetlands, while Sylvanas urged caution and Yu Lin Bloodhawk remained behind with the fleet.
• Yu Lin Bloodhawk questioned the captured Death Knight about dark magic and living Death Knights, then studied Demonic with the Succubus.
• Sylvanas lured the Orcs toward a mountain valley as gryphon riders harassed their camp and Daelin’s army advanced to join Alleria.
• The Orc Chieftain secretly moved his army from the excavation site to a highland plain, leaving Death Knights and undead behind as a decoy.
• Alleria and Daelin reached the excavation site, where gryphon riders bombed the Orc defenses and the human cavalry charged through the breach.

As the orcs advanced through the Wetlands, Yu Lin Bloodhawk, Alleria, and Sylvanas stole the Dragon Soul from Grim Batol, provoking Neltharion to destroy the orc force there. The story left the Alliance preparing for the next battles while the Hinterlands factions formed a united army and organized its troll troops.

• Alleria persuaded Daelin to withdraw toward Menethil City as the orcs entered the Wetlands, then learned that Arathi had fallen and the Dragonmaw Clan was excavating Grim Batol.
• Yu Lin Bloodhawk explained the Dragon Soul’s history to Alleria and Sylvanas, and the three secretly decided to steal it from the orcs.
• Daelin refused Allied Command’s request to move the Elven Expeditionary Burning Legion north, then learned that Alleria, Sylvanas, and Yu Lin Bloodhawk had gone to Quel’Thalas.
• After months watching the excavation, Sylvanas, Alleria, and Yu Lin Bloodhawk disguised themselves as orc wolf riders, seized the Dragon Soul, and escaped through a town portal as Neltharion approached.
• Neltharion destroyed Grim Batol and its orc occupants, then fled from the other dragonflights that demanded the Dragon Soul.
• Daelin and the Allied commanders confirmed Grim Batol’s destruction and sent a cavalry force to investigate, where they found the skeletons of more than twelve thousand orcs.
• The Quel'Danil Council formed a united Hinterlands army, dividing its forces between western and eastern legions and negotiating the green dragons’ neutrality.
• Shidewa warned the Vilebranch Troll Warchief that the orcs would be dangerous, requested a roster of his 4,800 warriors for casualty compensation, and realized the Warchief had not prepared one.
