"Besides inheritance, there's actually another way to obtain a Kekkei Genkai: by cultivating and fusing Chakra natures. Don't tell me you didn't know that."
Tsunade shook her head, completely lost.
Though she had heard of Kekkei Genkai, she only vaguely knew that they could be inherited.
Her family must have placed great hopes on her, believing she would certainly inherit the First Hokage's Wood Release, so they had never told her about this.
Aokiji thought for a moment, seeming to understand something.
Kekkei Genkai ninja generally only mentioned that their abilities came from their bloodline, while keeping silent about the fact that Kekkei Genkai could be created through fusion.
Unless someone had specifically researched the subject, ordinary people really wouldn't know.
Aokiji guessed that it might have been to highlight their own superiority. Thinking more darkly, perhaps it was to make ninjas without Kekkei Genkai accept their fate and believe they were naturally inferior to Kekkei Genkai ninja, making them easier to control.
After all, if ordinary people learned that Kekkei Genkai could be created through fusion, they would naturally think, So Kekkei Genkai are nothing special. If I work hard, I can successfully fuse one just like your ancestors did.
