Tsunade is Senju Hashirama’s granddaughter and Senju Tobirama’s grandniece. Her lineage gives her both Senju and Uzumaki heritage, though her blond hair indicates that she inherited only part of the Uzumaki Clan’s abilities; she retains their resilient constitution and a limited capacity to restore health and Chakra. 11 78 82

As a child, she already wanted to become a great ninja and paid little attention to concerns about her future appearance. Her academic performance ranked behind only Orochimaru’s, and Tobirama assigned her to Sarutobi Hiruzen alongside Orochimaru and Jiraiya. 5 11
