Background / History
Su Tiantian was her parents’ only child in reality. Her father became addicted to drinking and her mother to gambling when she was approximately three. Their addictions consumed the family’s possessions, and the household depicted in her Dream Game corresponds to a period before she turned five, when their home had not yet been sold 148 149.
Relatives told her that her parents had once seemed respectable and were led astray by bad company. Su Tiantian rejected that explanation, believing that their companions merely encouraged tendencies they already possessed. She recalled receiving no parental love from a very young age 149.
On her tenth birthday, she killed both parents, describing their deaths as a birthday present to herself. She claimed that whatever weakness and dependence she once felt disappeared that day 152.
By the time she requested Zhao Xun’s assistance, she had survived aboard the Endless Train for at least six months. That duration qualified her for a monthly opportunity to recruit another player to help with a Dream Game task 137. She enjoys remaining aboard the train rather than treating departure as her primary objective 178 264.
Appearance
- Catlike eyes, repeatedly described as lively, pretty, or carrying a teasing gleam 30 149.
- Long hair, strands of which Zhao Xun finds on her pillow 178.
- A sweet smile, which she retains even while discussing violence or her parents’ deaths 152.
Personality
Su Tiantian presents herself as playful, flirtatious, and easily bored. She teases Zhao Xun about romance and sex, then switches to provoking Qianqian when he gives her little reaction. Rejection rarely visibly upsets her; she often treats the exchange as entertainment rather than a serious declaration 149 152 153.
She describes herself as a born “psychopath,” arguing that her childhood environment accelerated the emergence of traits she already possessed. Her behavior is openly ruthless: she mutilates her Dream Game mother to enforce obedience, threatens further amputations, and enjoys seeing the parental NPCs cower before her 149 150 152.
Her decisions are strongly reward-driven. When a hidden mission conflicts with her difficult side quest, she favors obtaining the hidden mission’s special item if both cannot be completed. Nevertheless, she accepts careful planning and avoids killing her fictional sister when doing so could jeopardize success 151 152.
Despite her contempt for dependence, the Dream Game unsettles her. Zhao Xun suggests that her fictional sister exaggerates a vulnerable part of her former self; Su Tiantian’s smile fades before she responds by recounting her parents’ deaths. She also finds the Volunteers’ mutual trust difficult to understand, while admitting some admiration for their solidarity 152.
Abilities & Skills
Evil Spirit
Evil Spirit lv5 turns the souls of people killed by its holder into loyal Ghost Servants 178.
- Absolute loyalty: servants obey their master, cannot be controlled by anyone else, and cannot harm their master.
- Retained abilities: servants can use the Special Abilities or other abilities they possessed while alive.
- Monthly limit: each servant may use its retained ability only once per month.
- Fixed ability level: a servant’s ability remains at the level it had upon death.
- Retroactive effect: people killed before the holder acquired Evil Spirit also become servants.
- No stated numerical cap: the ability places no limit on how many victims can become servants.
- Persistence: servants remain subject to the holder’s commands until their souls are completely destroyed 178.
Dream Game Knowledge and Outside Assistance
- Explains that Special Abilities cannot be used during Dream Game main quests, although special items remain usable 147.
- Uses her veteran privilege to request Zhao Xun as outside assistance, coordinating their entry through a simultaneous countdown 137 148.
- Recognizes the value of hidden missions, including their rewards of points, survival time, and special items 151.
Coercion and Deception
- Enforces cooperation through threats and immediate violence, including cutting off her Dream Game mother’s little finger 149 150.
- Supplies a false explanation that the injury demonstrates her mother’s determination to quit gambling 150.
- Reassures her fictional sister that their parents’ hostile behavior is withdrawal, delaying the sister’s acceptance of the truth long enough for Zhao Xun to intervene 151 152.
Investigation
- Locates the “fake Whistle” whom Zhao Xun had identified as a veteran manipulating newcomers.
- Reports his methods and motives after killing him, including his use of duped players as disposable attackers and potential sources of special items 178 317.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Document-copying special item — She claims it can copy documents and books. She uses it to distribute evidence of the Duke’s crimes; Zhao Xun suspects its full function is broader than she admits 32.
- Rope ladder — Used during her departure over a wall; it disappears with her. Its mechanism is not explained 30.
- Dagger — Drawn while she angrily slashes toward a bedroom door 149.
- Large machete — Used to threaten the parental NPCs and sever Su Mom’s little finger 149.
- Medical kit — Stored in her Storage Slot; includes clotting powder and a large adhesive bandage used to treat Su Mom’s wound 150.
- Sleeping pill — Half a pill is mixed into warm milk to keep her fictional sister asleep during the confrontation with their parents 149.
Relationships
- Zhao Xun — Recurring ally, compartment mate, and self-proclaimed kindred spirit. She values his honesty and backs his potential early, but their cooperation remains conditional rather than an openly trusting friendship. Her flirtation does not establish a romantic relationship 40 138 152 264.
- Su Dad and Su Mom — Her abusive biological parents, whom she killed on her tenth birthday. Their Dream Game counterparts provoke disgust rather than filial affection 149 152.
- Younger Sister Su — A fictional sibling created by her Dream Game. Su Tiantian has no real younger sister; Zhao Xun interprets the character as an exaggerated reflection of her past dependence and vulnerability 148 152.
- Whistle — A fellow player familiar with her. He describes Zhao Xun as an additional friend she has gained, although Zhao Xun rejects that understanding of their alliance 138.
- A Jie — Their teasing exchanges become antagonistic when he compares her romantic talk to Rainbow’s. She sharply rejects the comparison 152 153.
- Qianqian — A target of her teasing about romantic preferences among teammates. Qianqian instead emphasizes equal trust in both companions 152.
- Wu Wei — A fellow player who survives a Platform Game on her team; she confirms his safety when Zhao Xun asks 246 247.
- Zhaozhao — A familiar player whom she enthusiastically hugs upon becoming compartment mates 264.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Exposing the Duke
- Cooperates with Zhao Xun during the game involving the Duke’s crimes 30.
- Posts copied evidence around town, confirming to Zhao Xun that exposing those crimes is genuinely her objective 32.
- Offers to investigate a couple for Zhao Xun in exchange for a favor, payable only after she supplies a useful lead 40.
Repeated Dream Game Side Quest
Her side quest requires her to save Younger Sister Su and make her abandon suicidal thoughts. Before recruiting Zhao Xun, she fails three approaches 148.
| Attempt | Approach | Reason for failure |
|---|---|---|
| First | Kills the parents inside the apartment. | The sister cannot bear losing them or accept that Su Tiantian killed them 148. |
| Second | Kills them elsewhere and disguises their deaths as an accident. | The sister fears losing financial support, survival prospects, and access to education 148. |
| Third | Leaves both parents alive. | Their continued neglect leaves the sister feeling unloved and oppressed 148. |
- The three failures cost 30 points and occupy 30 days aboard the train without new survival-time rewards from the repeated quest 151.
- Su Tiantian recruits Zhao Xun, who proposes making the parents behave affectionately for three days. Threats, strict supervision, and promised valuables secure their cooperation 148 149 150.
- The sister’s happiness triggers a hidden mission to plunge her back into despair, directly conflicting with the side quest’s required mental state 151.
- Zhao Xun withholds the promised payment, prompting the parents to expose their deception. Su Tiantian’s continued denials briefly slow the sister’s descent into despair 152.
- Zhao Xun knocks the sister unconscious before suicidal thoughts develop. Both missions are completed, and Su Tiantian acknowledges that he has repaid his favor 151 152.
Competition with Zhao Xun
- Treats competing with Zhao Xun as a new source of entertainment and pursues the race to accumulate 10,000 points 177 198.
- Overtakes him in the November 10 rankings and moves to Compartment One 199.
- Joins the Labyrinth of the Minotaur alongside him. After he kills the original Minotaur, she reports that duplicates hunted the remaining players and plans to stagger future entries to avoid becoming his opponent 199 207 208.
- Takes advantage of his decision to pursue revenge instead of entering a Platform Game, while showing relief that he remains rational 248.
Killing the Fake Whistle
- Receives Zhao Xun’s warning about a veteran encouraging newcomers to murder supposedly weak veteran players for their special items 178.
- Later confirms that she found and killed the impostor 317.
- Explains that he hoped to reduce his fear of death by causing others to die, while potentially acquiring a powerful, obedient follower. His latest merged Dream Game was intended to kill a duped player and steal that player’s items 317.
Notable Quotes
“But I was born a psychopath. This environment just accelerated my evolution and brought it out earlier.” 149
“My weakness and dependence disappeared completely the day my parents died. … After all, I killed them myself, on my tenth birthday, as a birthday present to myself.” 152
“I like seeing you hide in corners like cockroaches, too scared to move. It’s much easier on the eyes than watching you beat and berate your children.” 152
Trivia
- Her point ranking understates her perceived strength. A compartment mate estimates that she may be comparable to top-ten players, attributing her lower ranking to pleasure-seeking and a lack of interest in accumulating points 263.
- Zhao Xun secretly copies Evil Spirit using a hair from her pillow. His copied version has only five total uses; that restriction belongs to Devour, not to Su Tiantian’s own ability 178.
- Zhao Xun later chooses to summon Zhaozhao rather than Su Tiantian for an assassination because he already has access to Evil Spirit but cannot copy Zhaozhao’s luck boost 344.
