"Here we are again. How have you been lately, Ambassador?"
At the M'tok Embassy on Amat Eiro II, Xi Yan sat on a sofa and waved to the M'tok Ambassador.
The burly Stone Person before him, who looked like a stone wall, remained silent, feeling uncomfortable all over.
What kind of Marshal personally came to the Embassy first thing in the morning to meet an ambassador?
The ambassador had heard someone banging on the door the moment he got up that morning.
They had even been shouting, "Open up! You've got the guts to hide in there, so why don't you have the guts to open the door?"
When the door opened, there stood this guy in holographic form, with a little hovering robot doing the knocking.
"Ah, morning, rock bro!"
The Empire's supreme commander flashed a smile outside the door.
"Is he nuts?!"
Kabulosius muttered under his breath, eyelids drooping, as he opened the door and let the uninvited guest in.
Normally, the leader of the host Empire could summon an ambassador at any time. The M'tok Ambassador had encountered empires that summoned their ambassadors every few days before.
But this was the first time he had seen anyone reverse the proper order like Xi Yan, turning up at the Embassy first thing in the morning.
Clearly, there was something seriously wrong with this country. He would have to warn the homeworld when he got back that they couldn't deal with these people in the usual way.
Everyone in this Empire was a little unhinged, from top to bottom.
"So, Marshal of the Interstellar Human Military Junta, is there something you need to discuss with us that brought you here so early?"
Kabulosius skillfully brewed a pot of tea. It seemed to be a tea-like beverage from their homeworld.
