Cosmic Era, 2260.

That year, Xi Yan was...

How old was he again?

Even he had forgotten. Around... eighty? It hardly mattered. He still had a long life ahead of him, and with the major breakthroughs in genetic technology, Xi Yan suddenly had the illusion that he had already become immortal.

But so what if he was immortal? He still had to work!

Another ten-year plan had ended. This plan had focused on science, technology, and colonial development.

The Alpha Segment of the Cybrex Alpha Ring World was now filled with research institutes, effectively making it the scientific center of the entire Empire. The Gaia planet Amat Eiro also housed vast numbers of bio-farms. Along with numerous resource-producing planets, the Empire now had more than twenty colonies.

On the technological front, the engineering research team had finally developed cruisers, and the accompanying Phase Disruptors had also been successfully created. The Empire could now assemble a Disruptor Cruiser Fleet.

According to the original approach in Stellaris, all they needed to do was fill every weapon slot on a cruiser with Phase Disruptors.

But that was the loadout from before the game's artillery computer rework.

It was supposed to maintain its distance and attack with the longest-ranged weapon, but thanks to Paradox Interactive's stupid code, installing it made ships launch a Boarding Charge and fight at point-blank range. That ancient bug had turned the entire artillery computer into a joke.

Yet the Boarding Charge artillery computer had also made short-ranged, high-damage disruptor cruisers a formidable weapon.

Cheap to build and devastatingly powerful, disruptor cruisers had become a must-have fleet for everyone in the midgame.
