Three months were no more than a fleeting instant among the stars.
Xi Yan really had not felt much change, either. He had simply followed his regular daily routine, and before he knew it, those three months had passed.
First, a word about the territory of the Interstellar Human Military Junta.
The newly completed second science ship had carried its science officer out to explore other star systems. So far, the two science ships had explored three new systems, and the two construction ships had followed them to build outposts.
The Interstellar Human Military Junta's territory had expanded to encompass six star systems.
Notably, in a system called Kui Su Three, the second science ship had discovered two colonizable planets with no civilizations of intelligent life on them: Kui Su Three I and Kui Su Three IV.
Kui Su Three I was fairly barren and produced little in the way of resources, though it would make a decent city planet. Kui Su Three IV, meanwhile, had vast expanses of exposed rock, volcanoes, and fault zones, offering abundant mineral production.
Honestly, finding three colonizable planets in succession this early on was already extraordinarily lucky.
For the time being, however, Xi Yan did not intend to colonize these two planets. The population on the Ring World was not large enough to support further planetary colonization.
You had to take things one bite at a time.
As the old saying went, the Aetherophasic Engine was not built in a day. Xi Yan had specifically stuck a sticky note on the floor-to-ceiling window beside his office, filling it with things he needed to do and using it as a makeshift memo.
He wrote Kui Su Three I and Kui Su Three II on a sticky note, slapped it onto the glass, and went back
