In a boundless world of deep, pitch-black darkness, a brilliant purple shard shimmered softly. Before it, a girl with silver hair and green eyes stood quietly at the center of this world, with neither sky above nor earth below, nothing to anchor her, as though she were the only being in existence. The silent darkness was enough to drive anyone to despair...
"Where is this?" Han clasped her own hand and looked around, but she was still alone.
"This is the world of the Shikon Jewel." A voice came from the bright purple fragment of the Demon Jewel, sounding both male and female, yet neither.
"What do you intend to do to me?" Han watched the beautiful shard before her and asked warily.
"What do you wish to do?" The mechanical voice was unnaturally calm, without the slightest trace of emotion.
"I..." The girl frowned in confusion. "I don't need you to do anything."
"Is that so?" the voice within the jewel asked. "Who are you, really? Do you want to leave this darkness? Do you want to resurrect Kikyo? Do you want to be with Sesshomaru forever? Make a wish to me. All you have to do is wish, and it will come true."
"Hmph. I'm not foolish enough to trust the Shikon Jewel." Though neither her Longbow nor her sword was at her side, the girl's presence grew all the more formidable.
"Then let us wait and see," the voice said, before falling silent.
Time slowly passed, and the darkness remained silent, lonely and desolate.
"Han, will you make a wish?" After a long silence, the jewel fragment spoke again.
"No," the girl said calmly.
"Don't you want to know who you are?" The Demon Jewel's eerie voice sounded irresistibly alluring.
A familiar valley appeared before her eyes.
