After a night of unconsciousness, Inuyasha was already past the critical stage of wounds that would have killed an ordinary person.
The first thing Inuyasha did when he woke was grab Tessaiga. Then he would return to that castle and rescue Kagome and the others!
Kirara, who had regained the ability to transform, stood beside Inuyasha without hesitation, determined to rescue her master!
"Enough, Inuyasha!" Han finally snapped. "What can you do in your condition?!" His serious wounds had yet to heal, and he could barely walk. Going to rescue Kagome and the others like this would only get him caught too!
"I just want to rescue Kagome and the others." Inuyasha was frantic. No one knew better than he did that those humans meant them harm. He hardly dared imagine how Kagome was being treated now. She had stayed in this dangerous Warring States era because of him, so he could never stand by while someone carried her off! Resolve settled over his face. "I'll get them out. Whether I succeed or not is none of your business."
"You!" Han was thoroughly exasperated. "Do you think I'm trying to stop you from saving them?!" Though Kagome was an entirely different person from Kikyo, she was still undeniably Kikyo's reincarnation. Sango was the sole surviving heir of the Yokai Exterminators who had maintained close ties with Kiyomori Temple for generations, and Miroku was a descendant of Han's old friend. Perhaps, without having spent much time with them, Han did not feel as deeply for them as Inuyasha did. But her desire to rescue them was every bit as strong!
"What..." Inuyasha froze. Was that not what Han meant...?
"Inuyasha, stop making a fool of yourself. Those humans may no longer be in that castle," Sesshomaru said coldly.
"What do you
