Xu Taiping broke through the Mysterious Wasteland Tower and accepted the cost of using the Book of Life and Death to stop the Eight Emperors. He killed them, but their Soul Seals branded him, and powers from other realms began making plans to take him away.

• Xu Taiping battered open the Heavenly Gate with his dragon form and sword, reached the tower’s twelfth layer, and gained access to the thirteenth.
• Xu Taiping rang the Heaven-Questioning Bell, summoning Great Emperor Mysterious Wasteland as the Eight Emperors trapped him in the Immortal-Slaying Formation.
• Great Emperor Mysterious Wasteland explained that Xu Taiping could use the Book of Life and Death to stop the Eight Emperors, but doing so would cost his fortune and subject him to torment and pursuit.
• After recalling his grandfather’s lesson about freedom, Xu Taiping chose to save Mysterious Wasteland Heaven and began judging the Demon Emperors through the Book.
• Xu Taiping recorded Black Claw’s crimes, gathered the victims’ accusations, and executed him before sealing his primordial spirit into his arm.
• Xu Taiping resisted Heartless Demon Emperor’s offers and forced the Book to execute him, while Heartless burned his body to return to the Demon Abyss.
• Xu Taiping carved the remaining Demon Emperors’ names into the Book and had them executed as pale fists smashed them apart.
• The Demon Emperors’ Soul Seals branded Xu Taiping, and officials from other heavens sent people to True Martial Heaven to discuss taking him away.

Xu Taiping survived the soul seals and received Great Emperor Mysterious Wasteland’s plan to restrain them before returning to the Azure Profound Sect and defeating Yellow Maple Valley’s challengers. His victories left him burdened by the seals as news of Great Liang’s slaughter emerged and the Evil God in his shadow prepared to attack.

• Zhao Qian and the Azure Profound Sect refused to surrender Xu Taiping, while Xu Taiping endured the remaining soul seals by fighting an imagined Book of Life and Death.
• Great Emperor Mysterious Wasteland gave Xu Taiping a medicinal wine recipe, the furnace dao body method, and the Great Sun Golden Flame to help him forge eight Immortal Swords and restrain the seals.
• Great Emperor Mysterious Wasteland erased memories of Xu Taiping’s deeds, and Xu Taiping returned from the tower and restored Fairy Lingyue’s memories with a Divine Soul Mark.
• Xu Taiping cut off Zhu Xuejian’s right arm after her treacherous attack and accepted Shen Li’s Sword Inquiry to secure the Azure Profound Sect’s chance at the Azure Cloud Assembly.
• Xu Taiping broke Du Ziyin’s Immortal Sword Molten Gold with his fists and forced him to concede after he attacked again.
• Xu Taiping fought through the soul seals’ backlash, severed Shen Li’s Life-Bound Flying Sword, and forced Shen Li to concede.
• Huang Que learned that thirteen cultivators had slaughtered nearly all of Great Liang and decided to tell Xu Taiping face-to-face because Green Ox Village was there.
• Fairy Lingyue warned that the Evil God in Xu Taiping’s shadow was preparing to attack, and Blade Ghost requested a Soulfire Stone to draw them into his Blade Domain.

Xu Taiping defeated the Evil God and gained a dangerous bond with the Lotus Eye before learning that Faceless Tower cultivators had massacred Great Liang and trapped Azure Profound Sect disciples. He rescued the disciples, killed the men responsible for Li Muyang’s death, and discovered that Tower Master Song was pursuing the True Martial Great Emperor’s treasure in Great Liang.

• Xu Taiping used Blade Ghost’s Infernal Blade Prison to fight the Evil God, defeated it with the Four Symbols Divine-Human Back-Pushing, and was bound to the Lotus Eye, which sealed the Evil God’s remnant soul.
• After waking in Fan Tower, Xu Taiping learned that cultivators had burned Great Liang and went with Huang Que to investigate the massacre and find Zhao Linglong.
• Xu Taiping discovered that the wounded Li Muyang carried Blood Spear Gu, promised to seek his reincarnation, and learned that the One-Armed Man planned to kill Zhao Linglong and the Azure Profound Sect disciples.
• Xu Taiping joined Zhao Linglong and the others at Sunset Glow Valley, where Liu Baizhi and Zeba attacked the disciples and used poison gu to weaken them.
• Xu Taiping defeated Zeba and killed Liu Baizhi while Dugu Qingxiao’s sword energy cut down the fleeing Faceless Ones, then let Lü Qianshou escape to follow him to Green Bamboo City.
• Xu Taiping and Dugu Qingxiao’s forces captured Faceless Tower members at Green Bamboo City, where Xu Taiping identified Lü Shaohai as the man who had planted Blood Spear Gu in Li Muyang.
• Xu Taiping fed Lü Shaohai ten Blood Spear Gu and triggered them, then vowed to kill Tower Master Song and keep him in Great Liang after learning he sought the True Martial Great Emperor’s treasure.

Xu Taiping claimed the True Martial Black-Eagle Banner, uncovered the arsonists’ crimes, and helped Xu Chengling avenge his father. He then reached Heavenly Hero Ferry, where a vision and Mu Yun’s warning revealed that the demon Yellow Hound might be hunting people there.

• Xu Taiping defeated Song Tianshu and the other five cultivators with the Black-Eagle Banner, then learned from the Lotus Eye that Zhao Xuantan had dispersed his cultivation to stop a calamity.
• At Xu Zhian’s grave, Xu Taiping met Xu Chengling, learned that Xu Taichong had been killed by an arsonist, and watched the Moonshadow Stone recording of his death.
• Xu Taiping exposed Lü Qiu’s murder of Xu Taichong and role in burning Great Liang, then let Xu Chengling avenge his father by burning Lü Qiu to ashes.
• Xu Taiping agreed to take Xu Chengling to Qingxuan, accepted the little princess’s request to avenge the tortured Imperial Clan members, and vowed to kill Liang Chengshan and Lu Sibai.
• At Heavenly Hero Ferry, Xu Taiping refused Tang Yueru’s demand for Ping’an, revived Fang Lian’er’s grandfather, and called on Mu Yun for help against the Liu Clan.
• Lou Shiyi’s sword strike destroyed the Liu Clan’s main hall and surrounding buildings, and Xu Taiping later saw a vision of a four-fingered monster finding Fang Lian’er.
• Mu Yun identified the possible threat as Yellow Hound, a Demon Seed hosted by Si Zhi, and warned Xu Taiping that its Hunting Power could trap and erase those who tried to leave its area.
