Background / History

Zhao Su was a Douluo fan in the modern world. His dislike of Tang San—whom he regarded as hypocritical and excessively favored by cheats—led him to wish he could enter the Douluo World, become a villain, and defeat him. After transmigrating, he arrived at Spirit Hall looking like a bedraggled child 1.

His awakening attracted Spirit Hall’s senior leaders. Qian Daoliu offered to make him his disciple and future Great Enshrined, but Zhao Su refused, mocking his age and defeat by Tang Chen. He instead secured Bibi Dong as his master by offering her an external soul bone 2 3.

Qian Daoliu repeatedly plotted against him during the following ten years. Zhao Su left Spirit Hall, endured pursuit by members of the Qian Family’s outer branches, and vowed that his return would bring a change of regime 4 22.

Although he initially embraced the villain role, Zhao Su later privately admitted that he wanted to return to his real home. Carrying out the Great Villain System’s missions became a necessity rather than simply an opportunity to torment Tang San 32.

Appearance

• Childhood: Appears six or seven, with a grimy face and travel-worn appearance when first reaching Spirit Hall 1.
• At sixteen: Stands 1.8 meters tall, retaining a youthful face with a determined expression 12.
• Later appearance: Stands over 1.8 meters tall with an upright bearing; is not exceptionally handsome, but his habitual smile makes him appear approachable 22 46.
• Clothing: Wears black robes in Suotuo City and conceals himself beneath black robes during the confrontation at Spirit Hall 4 50.

Personality

Zhao Su is provocative, proud, and quick to retaliate against condescension. He deliberately humiliates opponents and enjoys unsettling Tang San, including outbidding him for a crystal and exposing his concealed weapons 5 7 9.

His friendliness often serves a calculated purpose. He combines genuine assistance with coercion, emotional manipulation, and selective disclosure, training Shrek’s students while deliberately preserving divisions among them. He considers promises invalid when they conflict with his interests 10 22 33.

His attachment to others complicates his villain persona. He comforts Bibi Dong and Zhu Zhuqing, saves an opponent because a match does not justify killing, and admits that he does not truly want to oppose the Shrek Seven Devils. Nevertheless, he threatens Shrek Academy’s destruction if his plans are exposed and places his own survival above costly assistance to allies 12 20 31 32 33.

A fusion of sacred and dark angels, described as one of the Divine Realm’s Gods of Law Enforcement and the ruler of both kinds of angels. Its manifestation combines black-and-gold light, a sacred sword, and a death spear 3.

A mutation of the already-mutated Seven Kill Sword, with an aura far exceeding Chen Xin’s sword. Its ancient blade bears mountains and rivers on one side, birds and beasts on the other, and its name in ancient script on the hilt 5 6 8.

• Supreme Sword Intent: Blocks Tang Hao’s Clear Sky Hammer and sends sword intent through it; Tang Hao senses a godlike aura and associates it with the Asura God’s Sword and an innate domain 9.
