Background / History
Formation in the Spirit Road World
After gathering five spiritual items and mastering the formation for the purification art, Mu Chen concluded that his small group could not defeat the Dark Forces alone. He traveled with his companions to recruit families and sects willing to defend the Spirit Road World. The Wind Spirit Family joined first, followed by the Heavenly Origin Sect after reviewing his organizational and military plans 125.
The Flame Family readily committed its forces. The Golden Rock Family initially feared losses to its wealth and standing, but Mu Chen persuaded its patriarch that isolation would not protect it from the darkness. He also convinced the Spirit Feather School and Spirit Sword School to suspend their feud over spiritual-power resources 125.
The coalition established a joint training camp, an Alliance Council, and a Logistics Support Department. Its first test came when Dark Ghosts and dark spiritual-power puppets attacked during training. Members combined wind-powered disruption, flame attacks, and defensive shields to repel them 125.
Rescue Campaign
The Dark Forces attempted to undermine recruitment by massacring weaker factions and ambushing rescue teams. The Alliance responded with protective deployments, increased surveillance, and a rescue command center that organized operations in regional waves 127 128.
At a southeastern town, its vanguard held off Dark Spiritual Power Warriors, Dark Ghosts, and Dark Mages until the main force arrived. The rescuers located and destroyed an underground Dark Spiritual Power Core, cutting off the enemy’s energy supply before helping survivors rebuild 128.
Further operations freed miners at the Spiritual Power Mine, rescued villagers near a corrupted swamp, relieved a besieged mountain-valley sect, and protected a spiritual-energy forest. Soul-power specialists restored villagers controlled by darkness, while other members repaired homes and remained behind as guards. The rescued valley sect joined the Alliance 129 130.
Assaults on the Dark Strongholds
Alliance intelligence located major enemy strongholds in the Spirit Road Mountains, the Mystic Forest, and beneath a desert. The Council organized synchronized attacks, assigning forces according to terrain and specialist abilities 131 132.
| Target | Assigned Forces | Key Actions |
|---|---|---|
| Spirit Road Mountains | Wind Spirit Family and Spirit Feather School | Used speed, ranged attacks, and precisely timed combined strikes to breach shields; destroyed cultivation vessels containing unfinished dark creatures 131 135 137 |
| Mystic Forest | Flame Family, Golden Rock Family, and Heavenly Origin Sect | Opened a protected corridor of fire, killed the defending mage leader, and sealed a dark-crystal statue’s energy-gathering function 135 137 |
| Underground desert stronghold | Specialists in soul power, spiritual-power detection, formations, and mechanisms | Overcame traps and barriers, then destroyed the central vortex powering a vast dark array 132 135 137 |
Inside the strongholds, Alliance scholars uncovered a program that used captured humans and creatures to cultivate adaptable hybrid dark beings. Its supporting facilities gathered life force, recycled dark souls, and fused dark powers through an enormous array. The Alliance destroyed the cultivation vessels and the array, dismantling the program and severely weakening the strongholds 136 137.
Counterattack and Decisive Victory
The Dark Forces retaliated against Alliance camps and supply convoys. Dark Mages broke defensive formations, Dark Ghosts possessed warriors, and destroyed shipments left the front short of recovery medicines and replacement equipment. Reserve supplies, medical teams, and reinforced fortifications failed to end the crisis 138.
Heavy casualties and repeated defeats pushed weaker families and sects toward withdrawal. The Council circulated counterattack plans and promised stronger support for members, but the enemy then launched a major assault on the central camp. Mu Chen rallied the exhausted defenders and reorganized their defenses around each faction’s strengths 139 140.
During the battle, Mu Chen, Luo Li, and Nine Nether helped restore the collapsing left flank. Mu Chen’s breakthrough into dominion power subsequently halted the enemy advance and inspired a general counterattack. The Alliance destroyed the Dark Forces’ remaining core resistance and pursued their routed army, winning the battle at considerable cost 142 143 144.
Restoration and Internal Conspiracy
During the restoration of spiritual-energy balance on the Spirit Void Continent, disputes over resources and influence threatened the Alliance’s unity. The Thunderflame Family demanded priority because of its wartime losses, while the Spiritwood Sect emphasized its contribution of disciples and spiritual plants. Mu Chen investigated their needs and contributions, then mediated a temporary settlement through a revised allocation plan 151.
The Shadow Society and allied minor factions secretly sabotaged restoration formations and colluded with remnants of the Dark Forces. Mu Chen’s investigative team traced missing supplies, recovered dark objects and incriminating letters, and presented the evidence at an emergency assembly. Forces led by Mu Chen, Luo Li, and Nine Nether destroyed the conspirators’ network, allowing restoration work to resume 152 153.
After spiritual energy was restored, Mu Chen worked with the continent’s powers to establish fairer resource distribution, clearer responsibilities, joint training grounds, resource-sharing networks, and committees for environmental recovery 154.
World Alliance
Cooperation between the Spirit Void Continent and Star Illusion World provided a foundation for a broader coalition against the Nether Shadow Demon Lord. Mu Chen and his companions sent envoys to other worlds, addressing their distrust and fears about joining. The coalition is called the Cosmic Alliance during recruitment and is formally established as the World Alliance 156 158 159.
The World Alliance brought together spiritual cultivators, mechanical legions, Spiritual Plants Masters, and mental-power experts. An elite special-forces unit discovered that the Nether Shadow Demon Lord drew strength from dark-power sources across multiple worlds. Member worlds destroyed those sources while Mu Chen and the unit attacked his lair, ultimately destroying his true body 159.
The Alliance later prepared for battle against an evil entity, coordinating its forces to create an opening for Mu Chen’s Divine Artifact. The entity was destroyed, but many warriors died. Survivors began reconstruction and established arrangements for rapid rescue and material assistance between worlds 166 168 169.
Renewed Darkness and Postwar Reform
Several hundred years after the earlier great war, reconnaissance survivors warned that dark creatures had developed more dangerous, contagious powers. The World Alliance mobilized its resources, organized research and defensive planning, and formed a special-operations unit to investigate the source 171 172.
As invasions overwhelmed its defenses, some member worlds considered negotiating peace independently. Mu Chen visited the Dawn World and other devastated worlds, fighting alongside soldiers and distributing aid until their commitment to the Alliance stabilized. Researchers then developed ways to infuse weapons and defenses with a newly discovered power of light 173 174.
The Alliance drew the enemy toward a prepared battlefield equipped with shields, artillery, and formations. Its armies cleared a path to the dark core, where Mu Chen combined his spiritual power, the Divine Artifact, and light power to destroy the forces of darkness 175 176.
A postwar review identified delayed intelligence and overly scattered defenses as major failures. The World Alliance strengthened its intelligence department, established a unified military command center, clarified members’ obligations, and built cosmic monitoring stations. Reconstruction also included counseling, cultural restoration, and rebuilding academies and heritage sites. Later leaders continued refining these systems 177 178.
