Background / History

In Shi Yi’s previous life, Double Pupils are an extremely rare congenital eye disorder without supernatural power. His examination finds that the condition has not impaired his vision, although contemporary medical technology cannot restore a normal appearance. He recalls celebrated historical figures associated with double pupils, as well as periods when the trait was condemned as heresy 1 4.

In the cultivation world, Double Pupils are instead revered as the mark of an ancient sage, a heaven-born deity, or a sacred emperor. Ancient scriptures recount a bearer who swept aside enemies without defeat, while Heavenfall Academy preserves the memory of another who dominated his generation.
