Background / History

Egg Theft and Alliance with Stone Village

The Green-Scaled Eagle nested on Lone Steep Cliff, where she kept three washbasin-sized, jade-green eggs. Shi Hou, Shi Hao, Ermeng, Dazhuang, and Snot Boy raided the nest and placed all three eggs inside Shi Hou’s Stone Pot. Returning during their escape, she pursued them down the cliff until Shi Hao threw the sleeping Kang into her throat 6 7.

Kang disrupted the treasure technique she attempted to unleash, causing its gathered runes to collapse and injuring her through backlash. She later followed the children to Stone Village, where the eggs had developed golden markings indicating awakened ancestral bloodlines. Although the villagers offered to return them, she pushed them toward Shi Hou after looking at his Stone Pot, leaving them in his care 8 9 16.

She began delivering prey to the village, starting with a juvenile Black-Scaled Goat. Shi Hou subsequently agreed to nurture her eggs in exchange for larger fierce beasts. Her deliveries increased from first-tier prey to second-tier beasts, and she sometimes returned wounded. The eggs eventually hatched into three mutated Heaven-Tier chicks whose naturally occurring runes enabled the village children to study her clan’s treasure technique 10 13 14.

The Suanni Battlefield

When a beast tide blocked Shi Hou and Shi Hao’s route to the dying Suanni, the Green-Scaled Eagle carried them and the unconscious Kang toward the battlefield. She flew below the more powerful birds fighting overhead, while the boys defended her against a Purple Gold Snake, a Blood Sable, and a giant crocodile 25 26.

She initially wanted to join the rush for the Suanni’s apparently lifeless body. At the boys’ urging, she instead withdrew behind a cliff, avoiding the Suanni’s devastating final attack. Once it truly died, she carried them through the battlefield to collect the Demon Ape’s severed arm, the Li Fire Bull Demon’s broken horn, and the Suanni’s corpse. Shi Hou’s enlarged pot shielded the entire group from the pursuing experts’ arrows 27 28.

Bei Village Ambush

During the return flight, her left wing unexpectedly spasmed, sending the group crashing into the forest. Shi Hou interpreted the accident as a correction imposed by the story’s plot. Bei Feng and the Bei Village fighters ambushed them there, but she attacked the fighters with wind blades while the boys defeated Bei Feng 29 30.

When Bei Village’s Sacrificial Spirit attacked Shi Hou with poisonous breath, she and Shi Hao charged it. She continued fighting despite her wounds, but its black mist forced her back. The injuries sustained while protecting Shi Hao damaged her vitality; she later consumed Shi Hou’s broth residue and underwent atavism 30 34.

Hunt for the Injured Overlords

The Green-Scaled Eagle joined the expedition to hunt the wounded Demon Ape and Li Fire Bull Demon. She held a personal grudge against both overlords because their territorial fighting had nearly killed her and her three children. She transported Shi Hou, Shi Hao, and Kang into the wilderness, then circled above the Demon Ape’s valley as support 44 45.

After the two beasts were slain, the Primordial Zhu Yan’s arrival shook the wilderness. The shock wave threw her into an uncontrolled spin, and its aura terrified her. Following Shi Hou’s command, she fled above the treetops and brought the group back to Stone Village 47 48 49.

Appearance

  • Original form: An enormous green bird with hard scales, a threatening beak, and metallic-looking talons. Her wingspan is initially described as fifteen or sixteen meters, and later as dozens of meters 7 25.
  • Eyes: Blood-red during the nest raid; later described as golden with slit pupils 7 25 30.
  • Atavistic form: Larger body and broader wings, bluish-purple scales with a cold metallic sheen and intricate primordial runes, a regal golden crest, and black-gold talons 34.

Personality

The Green-Scaled Eagle is fiercely protective of her offspring. She pursues their thieves without hesitation, yet entrusts the eggs to Shi Hou once she recognizes the Stone Pot’s effect on their bloodlines. Her willingness to hunt increasingly dangerous prey—even at the cost of injury—shows how much she values their development 7 9 13.

She understands human speech, responds to instructions, and displays affection through gentle nudges and rubbing against the boys or the Stone Pot. Her trust allows her to abandon the rush for the Suanni’s corpse despite her eagerness to claim it. She remains wary of overwhelmingly stronger beings, lowering her head before the Willow Deity and fleeing the Primordial Zhu Yan’s presence 13 25 27 31 49.

Abilities & Skills

Flight and Aerial Maneuvering

  • Skims above the treetops while suppressing her aura during the hunt for the Demon Ape 45.

  • Limits: More powerful aerial predators force her to fly low; the Primordial Zhu Yan’s distant shock wave is strong enough to send her spinning 26 49.

Physical Strength

  • Can shatter a thousand-jin boulder with one swipe, according to Shi Hou 7.
  • Crushes several Dire Wolves beneath her landing 25.
  • Uses her talons to attack Bei Village’s Sacrificial Spirit 30.

Green-Scaled Eagle Treasure Technique

  • Gathers radiant runes before her chest to prepare a powerful attack 8.

  • Limit: Kang’s blue-light ability disrupts her gathered technique, triggering internal backlash rather than allowing the attack to fire 8 16.
  • Clan inheritance: Her chicks possess naturally formed runes through which Shi Hao and other children study the clan’s Primitive Treasure Technique. Shi Hao produces crescent-shaped green blades; Ermeng and Dazhuang learn to strengthen their fists with green light 14.
