| Species/Race | Formerly human; transmigrated into the Evil Orca King and later acquired an evolving human form. Subsequently awakens a Kunpeng bloodline and perfectly conceals his sea-soul-beast aura, without completing a transformation into a human 7 15 29 78 |
| Gender | Male |
| Affiliation | Evil Spirit Orca Group; Sea Soul Beast Alliance 2 35 |
| Occupation/Role | King of the Evil Spirit Orcas; organizer of the Sea Soul Beast Alliance; formerly a salesperson 7 29 35 |
| Status | Alive in the finale; repeatedly makes Tang San jump from a cliff while sharing his revenge with Giant Kun 123 |
Power Progression
Soul-beast cultivation age and human Soul Master ranks are used as comparisons for Ren Tao’s strength. His evolutionary system ultimately prioritizes genetic perfection rather than Soul Power alone 8 11 28.
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Hundred-thousand-year Evil Orca King | 2 | Starting documented cultivation. His Spiritual Power is substantially below Tang San’s vast-level perception. |
| Breakthrough beyond the hundred-thousand-year limit | 6 7 | Swallows and absorbs the Whale Pearl, regaining human form and unlocking autonomous evolution, Devour, Thunder, and Soul Power Armor. |
| Two hundred thousand years of Soul Power; rank-95-equivalent strength | 8 9 11 | His cultivation is described as two hundred thousand years. Bo Saixi places him at the rank-95 threshold, and his attacks are subsequently compared to a level-95 Super Douluo’s. |
| Fusion with the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King | 15 17 | Their linked forms and powers merge within the Sea of Inheritance. His transformed body gains wings and stronger bloodline pressure. |
| Blood Sea Pagoda domain | 20 | His evolved domain combines the absorbed medicinal plants’ red power with Devouring Golden Threads and manifests a golden likeness of himself. |
| Human-Faced Sea Anemone abilities | 24 26 | Acquires soul-control and illusion techniques, along with a limited spatial-jump ability used to remove opponents from battle. |
| Entry into the second evolution stage | 28 | Survives bodily destruction by reconstructing himself through nirvana rebirth, discarding flaws in his original genetic structure. |
| Second-stage Sea of Inheritance renovation | 29 30 | Assimilates a trace of Sea God divine power. His inheritance space upgrades, and evolution can now use genes from dead organisms, food, and medicinal ingredients. |
| Divine-power-enhanced Devouring Golden Threads | 33 | Second-stage threads contain traces of divine power. He channels violet energy through them to penetrate the White-Haired Woman’s energy membrane. |
| Further advancement toward Super Evolution | 42 | Completes another evolutionary step. His golden hair-binding becomes a gem-studded crown, and lightning appears in his eyes; no new numerical rank is stated. |
| Survival of Tang Chen’s attack; Asura Sacred Sword residency | 51 | Continues existing as a consciousness throughout the Sea of Inheritance after his body shatters. The Asura Sacred Sword takes residence within him, accompanied by the Asura God’s five-year offer of guidance; Ren Tao rejects the prospect of abandoning his own path. |
| Encoded World-Destroying techniques | 54 60 | Develops World-Destroying Grasp by ordering and encoding energy through the Sea of Inheritance, later forming the World-Destroying Spear from red and golden power. |
| Wind and awakened water powers | 67 72 | His clone battles Qian Daoliu to mutual exhaustion with Spear of Chaos and elemental powers. The clone shatters, while his true body remains elsewhere. Damage to the Sea of Inheritance subsequently leaves his evolutionary sequence without a reliable direction. |
| Peerless Douluo-equivalent strength; Vast Expanse Realm Spiritual Power | 77 | Confirmed after surviving the real lightning tribulation. Wields wind and water and transmits information through those elements under the guidance of divine sense. |
| Tribulation-enhanced lightning and Kunpeng bloodline awakening | 78 | World-Destroying Grasp and World-Destroying Spear gain metal, wind, and lightning attributes. Giant Kun replaces the whale and orca divine-soul imprints, allowing him to simulate a Giant Kun martial soul; his beast aura becomes perfectly concealed. |
| Soul Parasitism Technique | 84 | Masters the Evil God’s technique while devouring his consciousness. The technique offers soul beasts a means of assuming human forms. |
| Spatial-power advancement | 103 | Gains spatial power beyond his wind attribute. Spatial Jump develops into the ability to open passages and temporarily occupy Parallel Space. |
| God-level Dragon Blood Illusion Formation | 108 | Elevates the formation into a domain capable of manipulating the perceptions and deepest desires of Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue after their ascensions. |
| World inheritance and Time Chain | 112 114 115 | Passes beyond the world consciousness’s trial and receives the world inheritance. His water control surpasses the Sea God’s, while Time Chain restores him after destruction and accelerates the Sea God’s decay into a reef. |
| Victory over the Asura God | 119 | Kills the Asura God, a God King. No new numerical cultivation rank is supplied. |
| Resistance within the Creation God’s time loop | 122 | Uses Time Chain and knowledge from his original world to alter the history imposed upon him, although immediately restoring his original form still requires an outside catalyst. |
Background / History
Before transmigrating, Ren Tao was an ordinary worker living in the Imperial Capital. He eventually became his company’s top salesperson and bought a car. While driving on a highway, he encountered a truck traveling against traffic; during the collision, he saw a sea within its headlights and arrived in the Douluo World as the Evil Orca King 29.
Only his soul crossed over. His original combat strength therefore came from the Evil Orca King’s body, rather than from his former human life 15. As a reader of the original Douluo story, he initially used its events to anticipate Tang San’s actions. That advantage became less reliable as his interventions changed the story and introduced divine methods absent from the original novel 2 8 14 50.
Although he initially regarded the orcas as a different kind of being, several months of their loyalty made their deaths deeply painful. Their willingness to fight overwhelming enemies rekindled his determination to survive and avenge them 2 29.
His memories of Chang’an remain an anchor for his identity. He tells Qian Renxue that remembering the city reminds him who he truly is; her glimpse of his former life helps dispel some of the mystery surrounding him 96.
The world seed later identifies him as the suitable person it had awaited after traveling from another star system. It explains that the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King’s death briefly stalled the world consciousness and allowed it to awaken 99. In the final confrontation, the Creation God likewise recognizes Ren Tao as an outsider and places him within a time loop, hoping his foreign perspective can uncover answers unavailable to a native of the Douluo World 122.
Appearance
- Human form: 1.9 meters tall, with a slender, muscular build and sharply sculpted features resembling his former self. He describes his proportions as nine heads tall 7.
- Hair and eyes: Long, freely flowing hair; his eyes display black-and-gold gleams during his early transformation and gentle blue-gray coloring in later encounters 7 11.
- Clothing: Creates robes from Soul Power, including pale-gray robes with a faint metallic sheen. He initially travels barefoot 9 38.
- Post-fusion features: Wings, a golden-thread headband, and red-trimmed cuffs 17.
- Later evolution: The headband becomes an openwork golden crown set with blood-red gems, while faint lightning flickers in his eyes 42.
- Beast form: Retains the ability to become the Evil Orca King. He initially favors this form for swimming speed; after fusion, his smaller human form becomes his strongest form 7 31.
- Jade Tide Bay appearance: Wears a pale-gold robe decorated with flowing water patterns and a tall, gemmed crown. A halo shines behind his head, while the earlier red sleeve ornament develops into Treasure-Crowned Flower patterns resembling a lotus throne beneath his feet 54.
- Post-tribulation appearance: Becomes more restrained and outwardly human, with ink-black eyes and a pale-cyan Kunpeng-and-sun marking on his forehead. Deep blue-black clothing patterns replace the visible golden threads, revealing pale-gold, star-like flecks when infused with Soul Power. His face retains a faint golden sheen after the Pagoda Golden Body merges with his actual body 78.
- Creation God’s imposed life: Temporarily becomes a child born into a remote mountain family; by six years old, this version of him has received no schooling 119.
Personality
Ren Tao is protective of his followers without excusing their indiscriminate violence. He forbids the Evil Spirit Orcas from killing except when hunting for food and seeks an alliance that can protect soul beasts from human hunters without imposing his own domination over the ocean 7 8.
His ambitions center on independence, peace, and an ordinary fulfilling life rather than rulership. He wants family, friends, and someone he loves, but recognizes that defending those wishes requires strength. This outlook underpins both his challenge to divine authority and his plans to prevent war among the empires 32 35 44.
He is calculating, provocative, and willing to gamble with his life. He exploits opponents’ emotional vulnerabilities, uses misleading identities and rumors, and deliberately provokes the Sea God to complete his bodily reconstruction. Devouring can also make him intoxicated, frivolous, or overconfident—effects he later counters with the Wisdom Halo 12 28 39 44 45.
His theatricality extends to meticulously planned entrances and reciting poetry during combat. Against Qian Daoliu, he turns an illusion-filled poetic performance into a delaying tactic while regenerating and repairing his formation 54 60.
Despite his pragmatism, he maintains boundaries concerning borrowed power and unnecessary killing. He refuses to use the Asura Sword before fully refining it, avoids slaughtering the Clear Sky Sect’s weaker disciples, and privately instructs the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger not to harm people. The last action convinces Ding Shanfeng that his concern for human life is genuine 60 93 105.
He rejects the world consciousness’s claim that victory and slaughter determine morality. Rather than accept a stronger being’s rules as inherently just, he challenges the premises and purpose of those rules 112. His aversion to killing does not preclude cruelty toward a hated enemy: in the finale, he cheerfully repeats Tang San’s cliff-jumping punishment and insists that Giant Kun share the experience 123.
Abilities & Skills
Devour and Autonomous Evolution
Ren Tao’s evolution advances through the absorption and recombination of suitable biological material, not merely through accumulating Soul Power 7 28.
- Acquires energy, abilities, and genetic information from targets, including Tang San’s Eight Spider Lances and the medicinal plants within Xiao Wu 11 12 14.
- Produces pleasure resembling a dopamine response in both himself and his target; this can induce hallucinations that are difficult to distinguish from natural emotions 11.
- Recognizes mermaid genes as a template capable of suppressing harmful mutations and opening the second evolutionary stage 23.
- After entering that stage, can obtain genes from corpses, medicinal ingredients, and food without devouring living creatures 30.
- Is not universally effective: his attempted devouring during his first direct clash with Bibi Dong produces no result 45.
- His second-stage regeneration allows him to trade injuries aggressively. Golden threads stitch wounds closed while his muscles regenerate 55 58.
- Damage to the Sea of Inheritance disrupts the direction of his evolutionary sequence without stopping evolution itself. He fears losing his human appearance, sanity, or biological stability if he cannot correct it; the realm also suffers from depleted energy and insufficient genetic data 72.
- Devours tribulation lightning to strengthen his lightning abilities, but explicitly recognizes that surviving the tribulation has not completed his transformation into a human 78.
- Masters the Soul Parasitism Technique while devouring the Evil God’s consciousness. The technique can enable soul beasts to assume human forms 84.
Devouring Golden Threads
Golden threads acquired from Tang San become one of Ren Tao’s principal tools for combat and energy manipulation 20.
- Drain surrounding soul beasts, bind targets, and pierce defenses 21 47 50.
- Can form weapons, restrain divine marks, and perform delicate reverse-decoding procedures 39 47 48.
- Gain exceptional resilience and traces of divine power during the second evolution stage 33.
- Can be maintained in large numbers, but precise control over hundreds or thousands of threads heavily taxes his Spiritual Power 39.
- Assist bodily regeneration by closing serious wounds and binding damaged tissue 55.
- Pierce the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger’s Evil God’s Protection, immediately before both combatants are transported into an unfamiliar space 79.
Orca Combat Techniques
His original arsenal combines direct attacks with suppression and control rather than a large collection of Soul Ring skills 11.
- Orca Shattering Fang Slash: A powerful cutting attack used against the whale king and to disrupt Tang San’s movement and attack rhythm 4 11.
- Orca Crescent Slash: Blood-red crescent attacks that cut across Tang San’s Teleportation paths 11.
- Orca Demon Axe: Used alongside Shattering Fang Slash during his aerial battle with Bibi Dong 45.
- Evil Orca King’s domain: Reduces opponents’ speed and power; can suppress the surrounding space and interfere with movement 11 12.
- Water control: Raises columns, waves, and cutting sprays of seawater for attack and interception 27 45.
Blood Sea Pagoda and Wisdom Halo
Blood Sea Pagoda combines the red energy of the Lovesick Heartbreak Red and Crystal Blood Dragon Ginseng with Devouring Golden Threads. Its golden manifestation resembles Ren Tao rising from a sea of blood 20.
- Provides battlefield suppression and helps him resist Tang San’s Purple Pole Divine Light 26 27.
- Supports the Dragon Blood Killing Array, whose searing blood power breaks illusions and counteracts the Human-Faced Sea Anemone’s murky energy 23.
- Can produce a Golden Body Pagoda substitute, which receives Tang San’s poison attack in Ren Tao’s place 27.
- Its fourth manifestation, Wisdom Halo, increases Spiritual Power by 20% and keeps his mind clear during devouring 45.
- Wisdom Halo consumes energy but can draw replenishment from the Sea of Inheritance. Its heightened perception exposes the particles and energy field underlying Bibi Dong’s Death Domain 45.
- The domain also contains corruption and decay powers from the Rakshasa God’s lineage, contributing to its interference with perception and speed. Qian Daoliu’s angelic power acts as a natural counter and ignites it 59.
- The Pagoda Golden Body merges with his physical body during the lightning tribulation, leaving a faint golden sheen on his face 78.
Whale King Inheritance
Absorbing the Whale Pearl grants three of the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King’s skills 7.
- Devour: Forms the basis of his inherited absorption power and can be projected through the whale king’s phantom 7 12.
- Thunder / Divine Thunder: Supplies lightning attacks and can paralyze opponents, as demonstrated against Oscar and Ning Rongrong 7 26.
- Soul Power Armor: Produces protective Soul Garments. Its ultimate purpose is associated with dragon transformation and godhood, but the armor is not impenetrable 7 10.
- Whale king phantom: Acts while Ren Tao is incapacitated and develops spider spears after absorbing the Eight Spider Lances 12 15.
- Uses refined Asura divine power to draw Divine Thunder toward Qian Daoliu during their battle 59.
- Following the tribulation, Giant Kun replaces both the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King’s and Evil Orca King’s divine-soul imprints, and Ren Tao can simulate a Giant Kun martial soul 78.
Spatial Jump and Flight
- Can teleport targets whose Spiritual Power and Soul Power are weaker than his own, moving no more than three people at once over a limited range 26.
- Uses this ability to separate support fighters, evade charged attacks, and abduct strategically important opponents 26 47.
- Flies using his wings and combines aerial movement with spatial jumps 44 45.
- Neither spatial transfer nor flight works inside the Sea God’s fully suppressive divine domain 28.
- Spatial interference can restrict his escape routes: Yu Xiaogang repeatedly detonates the space surrounding him to obstruct Spatial Jump during the Jade Tide Bay battle 54.
- Later gains spatial power that strengthens Spatial Jump into the opening of spatial passages and temporary residence in Parallel Space. Its duration depends on the power of those within; with Ren Tao himself inside and using no Soul Power, it can last at most one hour 103.
- Uses Parallel Space to approach Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue’s divine battle while sheltering his companions, though residual divine power and Divine Sense remain dangerous 107.
Anemone-Derived Soul Techniques
The Human-Faced Sea Anemone’s inherited techniques expand his options for control and deception 24.
- Soul Seizure: Attacks souls; the anemone used it to destroy Spider Crab souls and impart portions of its behavior 24.
- Mental Illusion: Exploits a target’s innermost emotions. Requires a casting medium, making it more useful when combined with his domain and Dragon Blood Killing Array 24.
- Corpse Manipulation: Allows techniques to be delivered through puppets, though Ren Tao considers it less useful than his stronger offensive methods 24.
- Can use surrounding marine life to produce a presence unlike his own and evade pursuit 48.
Sea of Inheritance and Divine-Power Decoding
The Sea of Inheritance is a repeatedly accessible consciousness realm that stores and processes his absorbed power 14.
- Merges the Evil Orca King’s and Deep Sea Demonic Whale King’s soul forms 15.
- Assimilates divine power through painful reconstruction and a confrontation with that power’s originating consciousness 29.
- Uses Reverse Decoding to dismantle the Sea God’s will and refine Abhorrence Brands into soul-damaging weapons 39.
- Provides a home-field advantage in soul combat: Ren Tao controls its waves, whirlwinds, and blood-colored energy against Tang Chen 50.
- Has finite reserves and protective mechanisms. Unstable divine power can threaten his consciousness, and an unknown force temporarily cuts him off from the realm during the Tang Chen battle 16 29 50.
- Can disperse his mind throughout its sky and sea without manifesting a physical form, drawing on the entire realm for protection. Within it, he can also change his manifested shape freely 51 62.
- Its editing and decoding functions allow him to organize Soul Power and divine power into more effective structures, providing the basis for World-Destroying Grasp 54.
- Is not completely secure against divine intrusion. Qian Daoliu and Qian Renxue’s linked angelic powers allow the Angel God to enter, attack Ren Tao, and target the concealed Asura Sacred Sword 62 63.
- Remains damaged later in the story; even as Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue approach godhood, Ren Tao still lacks a solution for repairing it and completing his second evolutionary stage 95.
World-Destroying Techniques
- World-Destroying Grasp: A self-created technique inspired by the Treasure-Crowned Flower of the Asura God Seal. Red threads and golden light are encoded and compressed into a concentrated eruption of power. Ren Tao first demonstrates it against Sword Douluo Chen Xin’s Seven Kill Sword 54.
- World-Destroying Spear: Condenses red light and golden radiance into a spear for a decisive strike against Qian Daoliu 60.
- Spear of Chaos: Applies Wind Power through extreme speed and rapid vibrations that generate spatial turbulence. It allows him to contend with Qian Daoliu’s Angel Holy Sword and later disrupt the Clear Sky Sect elders’ combined hammer attack without meeting its full weight head-on 67 72 93.
- Following the lightning tribulation, World-Destroying Grasp and World-Destroying Spear possess metal, wind, and lightning attributes 78.
Wind, Water, and Elemental Clones
- Wields wind and awakened water powers during his clone’s battle with Qian Daoliu. Their struggle develops into a conflict between water and angelic solar flame 67.
- Can maintain a combat clone while his true body operates elsewhere. The clone fighting Qian Daoliu shatters from exhaustion while the original escorts Bibi Dong to Pope Hall 67.
- Creates over a dozen clones during his race with Tang San, insisting that their use violates neither the prohibition on Soul Power nor that on soul skills 70.
- Vast Expanse Realm Spiritual Power allows him to convey information through wind and water and appear within Tang San’s spiritual perception without Xiao Wu seeing him 77.
- His strength depends partly on access to the surrounding elements. In the Star Dou Great Forest, he estimates a 20–30% reduction without the assistance of wind and water 78.
- Borrows Giant Kun’s power through whale calls to manifest sustained waves against the Sea God, but cannot maintain that level of output indefinitely 86.
- Tide-Rising Surge: Uses wave transformations and continuous momentum to evade attacks and disrupt Tang San’s assault. When divine interference binds his water-element power, he can no longer disperse into waves to mitigate damage 88 89.
- Water-element clones can pass through narrow openings, enabling him to infiltrate Spirit Hall’s restricted book chamber 98.
Dragon Blood Illusion Formation
- Develops the Dragon Blood Killing Array into an illusion formation capable of producing elaborate pavilions, landscapes, and deceptive spatial reflections. Its incomplete form initially requires continued repairs during his confrontation with Qian Daoliu 60 62.
- Eventually raises it into a god-level domain that draws upon targets’ deepest wishes and emotions 108.
- Uses illusions, substitutes, and Xiao Qian’s assistance to make Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue direct their divine weapons at one another. Their recognition of the deception comes too late to stop the collision 108.
World Inheritance, Divine Mechanism, and Time Chain
Ren Tao confronts the world consciousness through an inheritance trial that distorts his life and forces him to witness the soul beasts’ suffering. He escapes its prescribed narrative and challenges the consciousness with questions about the world, living beings, time, and its creator 112.
- World inheritance: Grants water-element control so far beyond the Sea God’s that Ren Tao dissolves the latter’s condensed-water trident and binds him with waterspout chains 114.
- Divine mechanism: Supports perception of developments beyond ordinary observation and concealment from divine sense. Its concealment can make direct eyesight more effective than divine probing against him 106 117.
- Divine mechanism is not infallible. The combined blood vitality and chaotic thoughts of an enormous army obscure his grasp of events, a vulnerability exploited by the Asura God 117.
- Time Chain: Rewinds the scene after the Sea God shatters him, restoring Ren Tao and freeing the captives. Its evolutionary power can also accelerate the Sea God’s internal time until his body decays and becomes a reef inhabited by marine life 115.
- Uses Time Chain and knowledge from another world to resist the Creation God’s imposed history and alter it from within. Nevertheless, he cannot immediately recover his original form without an outside source of possibility 122.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Whale Pearl — Consumed to unlock inherited skills, human transformation, and autonomous evolution 6 7.
- Jade Bottle of Ice and Fire Yin Yang Spring water — Used as his decisive stake when turning the tables on the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King 4.
- Abhorrence Trident — Derived from the Sea God’s hostile mark after the unnamed evil soul master corrodes it. It warns of danger and later destroys the White-Haired Woman’s consciousness 15 17 33.
- Soul Breaking Spear — A refined form of the Sea God’s Abhorrence that damages souls. Its strength depends on the user’s Spiritual Power; Ren Tao also creates versions for Jin Hai and Yin Zhang 39.
- Drift Bottle — Contains the unnamed evil soul master’s memories and evolutionary research; dissolves when Ren Tao absorbs its contents 15.
- Dreamscape Skull — Obtained from the Human-Faced Sea Anemone and given to Xin Luo to fund purchases of evolutionary materials 38.
- Storage Pouch — Accepted from Xin Luo with pearls as payment for investigating her missing people; later carries food, clothing, shoes, and other travel necessities 38 39.
- Golden Thread Map crystal beads — Given to Dai Delong and Wei Xili as an escape aid; also allow Ren Tao to track their locations 42 44.
- Asura Sacred Sword — Takes residence within his body after the Tang Chen battle. Ren Tao regards it as an unwanted, disguised inheritance arrangement and refuses to use its power before fully refining it. The Angel God later attacks its concealed presence within the Sea of Inheritance; by the Star Dou Great Forest confrontation, Tang San is wielding an Asura sword 51 60 62 85.
- Deep Sea Demonic Whale King’s torso bone — A million-year Soul Bone containing a trace of divine power. Ren Tao uses it as a shield rather than absorbing it during Qian Daoliu’s attack 60.
- Sea God Trident — Seized from Tang San and examined through divine sense. Away from Tang San and the Sea God, it initially appears inert. Ren Tao subsequently wields it against the Asura Sword; it later stands outside Spirit Hall as a symbol of Bibi Dong’s authority 87 88 89 105.
- Clear Sky Token — Obtained after defeating and sparing Tang Chen. Ren Tao returns it to the Clear Sky Sect and demands the Buddha’s Fury Tang Lotus and Storm-Pear Blossom Needle in exchange 93.
- Evil Soul Master’s finger bone and beast hide — Connected to the predecessor’s research and spiritual memories. Ren Tao finds both destroyed and scatters their ashes into his villa’s pool before departing for Slaughter City 99.
Relationships
- Evil Spirit Orca Group — Followers he comes to regard as family. He protects the nine survivors, plans their training, and entrusts them to allied sea beasts during his mainland journey 6 29 30 39. During the later continental crisis, he leaves Giant Kun to guard them and Shui Ling’er rather than risk an attack on his home 116.
- Ha Jun / Old Seventeen — Senior surviving orca responsible for bringing the calves away from the initial battle 2 3 7.
- Broken-Tail Orca — Loyal subordinate sent to ram Tang San during Ren Tao’s escape plan; promised the position of second king if Ren Tao survives 3.
- Tang San — Mortal enemy whose pursuit threatens both Ren Tao and his pod. Ren Tao defeats him on Sea God Island and repeatedly targets his path to the Sea God inheritance 2 13 14 28. He later challenges Tang San’s justification for killing soul beasts, survives the divine tribulation arranged against him, and hunts him alongside Bibi Dong 70 75 88. Bibi Dong confirms Tang San’s death, but a later blood ritual produces another Tang San who becomes the vessel of a cosmic being 95 115 119. In the finale, Ren Tao repeatedly subjects Tang San to cliff-jumping revenge 123.
- Xiao Bai — Enemy who accuses the Evil Orca King of killing her brother. Ren Tao rejects her claim to moral authority and later spares her while issuing a warning 2 26.
- Deep Sea Demonic Whale King — Initially involved in Ren Tao’s survival gamble; its Whale Pearl and soul form become central to his evolution 3 4 7 15.
- Bo Saixi — Negotiating counterpart. Ren Tao offers information about Tang Chen in exchange for protecting his kin and urges her to reconsider her lonely devotion to the inheritance 9 13 14. She later recognizes his Peerless Douluo-level advancement after the tribulation. The Sea God eventually holds her among the people used to threaten him, and she warns Ren Tao that the blood ritual has created another Tang San 77 115.
- Sea Witch Xin Luo / Sea Maiden Douluo — Uneasy companion who interrupts an ambush, resists his desire to devour her, and later entrusts him with finding her missing merfolk people 17 20 23 38. Their association becomes warmer: she openly cheers for him on Sea God Island, later joins him after the Sea God’s defeat, and discusses a mainland dessert business with him 70 115.
- Jin Hai, Yin Zhang, Shui Ling’er, Ran Laowu, and E Laosi — Hundred-thousand-year sea-beast allies who cooperate against the trench eruption and embrace his alliance proposal 32 33 35.
- E Laosi — Mainland traveling companion. Refuses to abandon Ren Tao before the approaching battle and prepares a coastal escape route 35 44.
- Bibi Dong — Powerful adversary who offers him a position in the Spirit Hall Empire. Their powers briefly resonate, and she later intervenes against the King of Slaughter, partly from appreciation for Ren Tao 44 45 48. They develop a strategic partnership despite conflicting goals: he escorts her back to Pope Hall, cooperates in the Star Dou Great Forest hunt, and receives her assistance when the Trident pins him down 67 68 88 89. After attaining Rakshasa godhood, she asks him to prevent the war required by her final trial. He later uses the Dragon Blood Illusion Formation against her and Qian Renxue, leaving her wounded but alive 95 108.
- Nine-Headed Bat King — Temporary ally against Tang Chen within the Sea of Inheritance. Ren Tao pulls him away from a potentially fatal follow-up attack 50. Afterward, Ren Tao sends him toward the Star Dou Great Forest; the bat later introduces him to the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger and accompanies his journey to Slaughter City 51 78 79 99.
- Sea God and Asura God — Divine enemies whose interference repeatedly endangers him; their power also becomes a target of his devouring and decoding 28 34 48 50. Ren Tao ultimately reduces the Sea God to a reef through accelerated decay and kills the Asura God 115 119.
- Qian Daoliu — Major opponent whose angelic power counters Ren Tao’s domain. Their confrontations combine direct combat, deliberate injury exchanges, lightning, and elaborate deception. A later battle exhausts both Qian Daoliu and Ren Tao’s clone, which shatters while the original remains unharmed elsewhere 58 59 60 67.
- Qian Renxue — Initially an enemy drawn into the Sea of Inheritance while searching for Qian Daoliu. Their relationship later acquires personal warmth when she sees Ren Tao’s memories of Chang’an and rests against his shoulder, although she still declares that they must eventually fight 62 96. Ren Tao subsequently entraps her and Bibi Dong in a god-level illusion; she also appears in the finale, exasperated by his childish enjoyment of revenge 108 123.
