Power Progression
Gu Yue’s human Soul Master rank does not represent the full extent of her underlying Dragon King power 85.
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Injuries healed; less than 1% of former strength | 4 | Retains god-level power, but cannot establish a Divine Realm or overturn the restriction preventing soul beasts from becoming gods. Prioritizes restoring her strength. |
| Level 15; Spirit Connection Realm | 57 | Leng Yaozhu identifies her disciple as newly entering the Spirit Connection Realm and values her ability to control several elements simultaneously. |
| Rank 36 Soul Elder; three Soul Rings | 93 | Advances from one ring to three at a speed that astonishes Leng Yaozhu. Examination reveals no harmful effects; the narration attributes the acceleration to Gu Yue drawing on her true power. |
| Fire Dragon King energy absorbed; ready for Soul Ancestor | 142 | Replenishes power spent fighting Tang San’s divine sense and strengthens her physique enough to withstand a ten-thousand-year soul spirit. Can add her fourth ring at any time; approximately level 48 is an expectation after spirit ascension, not a confirmed rank. |
| Ten-thousand-year soul spirit energy requirement met | 147 | Accumulated Spirit Ascension Platform energy reaches the required threshold. The actual ascension ritual must occur outside the platform; she still has only three rings. Her spiritual cultivation is in the Spirit Sea Realm, approaching Spirit Abyss. |
Background / History
Origin and Recovery
Gu Yue and the Golden Dragon King originated from the divided Dragon God. She inherited knowledge and memories from him, including information about divine powers, the Netherworld, and methods of controlling the Golden Dragon King’s power 4 77 96 117.
The First-generation Asura God gravely wounded her with the Asura Demon Sword. She concealed herself in the Star Dou Great Forest and spent hundreds of thousands of years recovering, while planning revenge against the Divine Realm and the restoration of the Dragon Clan 66 96.
Division and Human Infiltration
With the Divine Realm absent, Gu Yue considered revealing her true form and taking life energy from other planes to recover. She rejected an immediate attempt because the Golden Dragon King’s origin had appeared on Douluo, potentially as bait planted by human gods 4.
She divided herself into two individuals: Gu Yue retained her draconic nature and seventy percent of their origin, while Na’er received thirty percent and the Silver Dragon Spear. Their separate identities allowed them to infiltrate different human factions and investigate the exceptionally pure Netherworld aura Gu Yue had detected 4 5.
Gu Yue entered the Spirit Pagoda and became Leng Yaozhu’s disciple; Na’er joined the Xu Family. Although intended as an infiltration strategy, both placements exposed them to familial affection and changed their understanding of humans 59 96.
Appearance
- Human identity: A black-haired, black-eyed girl with a cool, aloof bearing. Her long hair reaches her waist 4 83.
- Draconic manifestations: Her pupils become vertical and silver when she invokes her true identity. Silver patterns appear in her eyes, and phantom silver scales can form along her arms 58 66 68.
- Complete Gu Yuena form: Temporary reunion with Na’er produces a silver-haired, purple-eyed girl in fitted white clothing, wielding a silver-scaled spear 69.
Personality
Gu Yue is proud, strategic, and intensely conscious of her responsibilities as the Silver Dragon King. She insists on negotiating with the Yanluo Heavenly Son as an equal, rejecting both subordination and the idea that the Dragon Clan should survive on another deity’s charity 66 117.
Her inherited knowledge initially exceeds her practical experience. She later acknowledges that centuries spent hiding and recovering did not prepare her for human relationships: despite their divine origins, she and Na’er were still learning how to live among others 96.
Her stern treatment of Na’er often resembles a mother disciplining a rebellious daughter, but her concern is genuine. Before allowing Na’er to accompany Gui Mei, she exhausts herself strengthening the Reverse Scale and tells her that safety comes first 60 77.
Around Xu Qingjia, her composure gives way to competitiveness, jealousy, and affection. She tries to suppress those feelings for the sake of her mission, yet continues reacting to his closeness with Na’er and quietly caring for him 95 97 104 117 121.
Abilities & Skills
Elemental Control and Fusion
Gu Yue commands multiple elements through her Silver Dragon King power, publicly disguising this ability as the Elemental Envoy martial soul 57 123.
- Uses ice spikes and fireballs for attacks, earth to hinder movement, and wind to raise sand and dust 61.
- Combines earth, wind, fire, and water into an enormous elemental lotus, then releases her control to detonate it 94.
- Wraps earth in fire and propels it with wind to create a meteor-like attack 95.
- Uses Elemental Tide, elemental control, and elemental fusion in combat 94.
- Coordinates frost and flame attacks against powerful soul beasts restrained by Xu Qingjia 146.
Spiritual Power and Illusions
Her spiritual control allows her to perceive unusual auras, manipulate several elements simultaneously, and conceal sensitive activity 4 57 65.
- Detects the Golden Dragon King’s origin and distinguishes pure Netherworld laws from a mortal’s superficial contact with Netherworld energy 4.
- Places Leng Yaozhu’s escort under an illusion that envelops all her senses, allowing a secret meeting with the ferocious beasts 65.
- Seals rooms with spiritual power and creates barriers that isolate private conversations 65 116.
- By the later Spirit Ascension Platform expedition, her spiritual cultivation is approaching the Spirit Abyss Realm 147.
Draconic Strength and Might
Gu Yue can invoke portions of her true dragon power while maintaining her human appearance 58.
- Her initial restraint of Xu Qingjia uses enough strength that an ordinary strength-type, three-ring Soul Elder would struggle to move her 58.
- Increasing her draconic power produces phantom scales and greatly amplifies her physical force 58.
- Releases overwhelming dragon might to intimidate Gui Mei and assert her standing during negotiations 66.
Origin Authority and Connection to Na’er
As the primary body holding seventy percent of their original power, Gu Yue initially possesses overwhelming authority over Na’er 5 60.
- Can suppress Na’er through their shared origin even when Na’er’s ordinary Soul Power cultivation exceeds hers 60.
- Originally expects to be able to forcibly absorb Na’er back into herself 5.
- Senses Na’er’s location and emotions; their link can also transmit sensations from Na’er’s intimate contact with Xu Qingjia 54 58 104 108.
- After Na’er acquires the Golden Dragon King Divine Core, that bloodline blocks Gu Yue’s suppression. Gu Yue can no longer force a merger in the short term 95 118.
- Investigates ways to weaken or block the unwanted empathic connection, though her attachment to Xu Qingjia complicates her resolve 108 118.
Temporary Reunion as Gu Yuena
Gu Yue and Na’er can temporarily reunite into the complete Silver Dragon King, Gu Yuena 69.
- During the confrontation with Tang San’s divine sense, Gu Yuena’s own divine sense reaches the level of a First-Level God 69.
- Combines a spiritual storm, dragon might, spear attacks, and elemental radiance 69.
- The battle leaves both separated selves injured; afterward, their weakened condition limits their ability to pursue the Golden Dragon King’s power 74 76.
Protective Seals and Spatial Techniques
- Gives Na’er a Silver Dragon Reverse Scale for real-time mental communication 14 16.
- Places a protective seal within Na’er that can automatically defend her in danger and teleport her to Gu Yue 14.
- Reinforces the Reverse Scale with concentrated divine power before Na’er leaves with Gui Mei, becoming severely exhausted in the process 77.
- Summons the five ferocious beasts to Eastsea City through a spatial rift 65.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Fire Dragon King energy seal — A crimson mass of sealed energy disguised as an artificial soul bone, given by Xu Qingjia. Its power shares Gu Yue’s origin, replenishes her losses, and supports further recovery 137 142.
- Purported “soul bone” skills — The energy seal contains no attached skills. Gu Yue demonstrates abilities from her own Silver Dragon King bloodline as though they came from it 145.
- Lovesick Heartbreak Red — An immortal herb received from Xu Qingjia. She keeps it in its jade box as a decoration rather than testing whether she can pick it, unwilling to face the emotional implications 144.
- Silver Dragon Spear — Assigned to Na’er when they separate; wielded by their complete Gu Yuena form during the battle with Tang San 4 69.
Relationships
- Na’er — Her separated other self, not a biological daughter. Their relationship combines shared memories, origin-based authority, genuine concern, and conflict over Na’er’s independence. They agree to cooperate without merging, but Gu Yue continues claiming the thirty percent origin and Golden Dragon King Divine Core 4 77 78 96 117.
- Xu Qingjia — Junior brother under Leng Yaozhu and the object of her growing affection. She investigates his Netherworld connections and learns that he is the Order’s Holy Son and supposedly a chosen divine successor; his actual identity as the Yanluo Heavenly Son remains concealed from her in these encounters 59 95 116 117.
- Leng Yaozhu — Teacher and maternal figure. Her treatment of Gu Yue as a daughter helps Gu Yue develop human emotions and attachment 59 61 96.
- Di Tian — Loyal subject and principal subordinate. Gu Yue shares her recovery strategy with him and directs his actions during negotiations and the Golden Dragon King operation 4 65 67.
- Bi Ji, Myriad Demon King, Xiong Jun, and Zi Ji — Ferocious beasts summoned alongside Di Tian to support her move against the Golden Dragon King’s host 65.
- Gui Mei / Black Impermanence — Envoy of the Yanluo Heavenly Son. Their wary negotiations establish cooperation against Tang San’s plans; Gu Yue later acknowledges that his master honored their agreement 66 67 77 117.
- Dragon God — Her creator and source of inherited knowledge. A dream of his grief over his wife and child reinforces her fear that love could derail her responsibilities 96.
- Tang San — Enemy and suspected architect of the Golden Dragon King trap. Their confrontation convinces her that he is behind the bloodline’s appearance on Douluo 67 69.
- Tang Hao and Ah Yin — Shared enemies against whom she and Na’er maintain cooperation despite their personal dispute 89 95 96.
