Kenichi Amamiya advanced his crop and thermobaric research while helping Orochimaru confront Tsunade’s grief and the Daimyo’s affairs. With a new lab and promising Sample No. 23, he left for Iwagakure as war began and encountered Kakashi, Itachi, and Shisui on the way.

• Jiraiya gave Kenichi Amamiya a book inspired by a rumor about Orochimaru, while Kenichi used Impure World Reincarnation to summon Hashirama Senju and test whether Wood Release could improve crops.
• Kenichi Amamiya established a laboratory, developed a Chakra Thermobaric Bomb using meteorite metal to store Sage Art Chakra, and agreed to accompany Orochimaru on a mission to the Land of Fire’s capital.
• In the capital, Orochimaru discussed his youth serum with the Daimyo, then joined Kenichi in finding Tsunade and Shizune at the Golden Rose Casino.
• After Tsunade confronted Orochimaru over his treatment of the dead, Kenichi captured Chiriku and Kazuma, and Orochimaru used Impure World Reincarnation to make Tsunade face Nawaki and Dan Katō.
• Tsunade destroyed Nawaki and Dan Katō’s reanimated bodies, and Kenichi returned to the Lab Base to spend more than a year researching crops and thermobaric explosives.

Kenichi Amamiya carried out a bombing mission for Ōnoki, then uncovered the Sky Ninja Village’s fortress and captured Shinnō before rescuing Anko from Konoha. He returned to Akatsuki and brought Anko and the Sky Base project to Orochimaru, where he began considering a new way to awaken the Sharingan.

• Kenichi Amamiya and Sasori negotiated with Ōnoki, then Kenichi bombed the Land of Grass battlefield and secured an annual restraint payment from Iwagakure.
• Kenichi and Sasori discovered the Sky Ninja Village’s underground base, where Amaru attacked them and Kenichi learned that Shinnō had deceived her about her daughter’s death.
• Kenichi investigated the fortress and Zero-Tails, then left Sasori to oversee the base while he went after Shinnō in Konoha.
• Kenichi confronted Shinnō at Konoha Hospital, defeated him, and forced Hiruzen to let him take Shinnō and Anko.

Kenichi Amamiya abducted Uchiha subjects to investigate Sharingan evolution, then took on a mission that exposed the Jashin Cult and brought Hidan into his custody. He returned to his research with Sasori and Orochimaru while Shisui prepared to help some Uchiha escape Konoha.

• Kenichi Amamiya left for Konoha, abducted six Uchiha and an oden stall owner, and escaped with them after Shisui Uchiha confronted him.
• Kenichi Amamiya persuaded Shisui to secretly recruit willing Uchiha for a new village and began experimenting on his captives to study Sharingan evolution.
• Uchiha Shiori survived Orochimaru’s Genetic Programming technique and awakened a Two-Tomo Sharingan, while Kenichi Amamiya later helped two more subjects awaken the same stage.
• Kenichi Amamiya investigated the disappearance of two organization members, exposed the Jashin Cult’s High Priest, killed him, and took the dismembered Hidan for experiments.
