Sukuna turned back into Itadori before returning to the bridge.
He sealed off the finger's cursed energy to keep it from attracting more curses, then quietly returned to his Innate Domain and flopped onto his little bed to lick his wounds.
Itadori touched the finger in his pocket, feeling worried, amused, and resigned all at once.
What was he supposed to do? How could he comfort his Sukuna?
...Thank goodness Megumi Fushiguro had said it wasn't Sukuna himself who looked like that curse, or Sukuna might have cried himself to death on the spot.
After completing their mission and reporting to Supervisor Nitta, who finally breathed a sigh of relief, they had her drive them back to Jujutsu High.
Their second mission together came to a perfect conclusion-with the mission successfully completed and Sukuna successfully sunk.
"Sukuna..."
Itadori sat on his dorm room bed, softly calling for his Sukuna.
His Sukuna gave no response, so quiet it was as though he had no soul.
Without Sukuna inviting him, he couldn't enter the Inner World either. He was so worried that he tugged out a few strands of hair.
Fortunately, he soon heard Sukuna respond.
[...Stop pulling. You're still young. Careful you don't go bald.]
"Sukuna!"
Itadori cried out in delight.
He hadn't expected tugging his hair to draw his Sukuna out. If he'd known, he would have started sooner.
Sukuna's voice was a little low, but he didn't sound as dejected as Itadori had imagined.
