  • Tanjiro and Genya discovered an insect-like demon waiting inside Urokodaki's cabin and fought it after Genya's gunshots failed to stop it.
  • Tanjiro's sword could not cut the demon's springlike neck, and he and Genya struggled to evade her attacks.
  • Haruto warned Yae that her hunting rifle was weak against demons, then followed Jiro toward the stench near the village.

  • Haruto recognized the huge demon as Koyuki, formerly Lower Rank Four and now Lower Rank Six.

Ch. 102Star's Teasing

Haruto confronted Koyuki, whose Blood Demon Art had let her turn villagers into insect-like monsters and grow stronger by devouring people. He killed her with Star Breathing, Seventh Form, after she unleashed a devastating attack on the village.

  • Haruto sent Yae and Jiro into the woods, then began rescuing villagers from Koyuki’s insect-human monsters.
  • Koyuki infected villagers with her insects and revealed that she had devoured people across more than thirty villages to increase her strength.
  • Haruto realized he had to kill Koyuki to stop her from repeatedly transforming the villagers, and Cang Kong flew off into the night.
  • Koyuki fought Haruto with her Blood Demon Arts, but he severed her arm and dodged her spinning flower attack.
  • Haruto used Star Breathing, Seventh Form: Star’s Teasing, and cut Koyuki apart.

Ch. 103Hinokami Kagura

Tanjiro and Genya fought demons on Mount Sagiri, where Tanjiro awakened Hinokami Kagura and beheaded his opponent. Elsewhere, Haruto killed Koyuki and concealed that her demons had been humans, leaving him burdened by guilt.

  • Genya bit into a demon and gained enough strength to decapitate it with his Nichirin Blade.
  • Tanjiro used Hinokami Kagura: Dance to cut off the Insect-Shaped Foul Demon's head.
  • Haruto told Koyuki that Cang Kong had alerted nearby Demon Slayers, who were eliminating the demons she had sent out.
  • Haruto pinned Koyuki to the ground with his Nichirin Blade and waited for her to crumble to ash.
  • Haruto told the arriving swordsmen that all the demons had been demons, while privately mourning that they had once been people harmed by demons.

Ch. 104A dream

Haruto dreamed he was a Kasugai Crow alongside his ancestor Takanashi Sōma and watched Sōma demonstrate his extraordinary ability to read and pursue lightning. The dream ended with Sōma receiving an order to go on a mission in the Shinagawa Entertainment District, leaving Haruto stricken with dread.

  • Haruto doubled Tanjiro and Genya’s training after Tanjiro demonstrated Sun Breathing, then continued trying to reach the Transparent World.
  • Haruto dreamed he was a Kasugai Crow perched on Takanashi Sōma, who was waiting for lightning beside a cliff.
  • Sōma told Ryoji he had refused to become the Rumble Hashira because his pregnant wife, Hanae, needed his time, though he would continue taking missions.
  • Sōma urged Ryoji to pursue the Hashira rank and explained that reading the temper of steel was a prerequisite for entering the true world.
  • Sōma chased lightning with his blade as Haruto watched, then carried Ryoji and Haruto toward shelter when the storm broke.
  • A Kasugai Crow delivered an order sending Kinoe-ranked Takanashi Sōma to the Shinagawa Entertainment District, and Haruto feared for him.

Ch. 105The conditions for going to Mount Fujikasane

Haruto practiced focusing his vision until he briefly slowed the falling rain, then used the ability to hunt snowcocks with Tanjiro and Genya. When the boys asked to take the Mount Fujikasane trial, Haruto consulted Sakonji Urokodaki, who set them a boulder-cutting test.

  • Haruto briefly saw the rain move in slow motion before a gust blew water into his face and ended the effect.
  • After the first snowfall, Haruto used his sharpened vision and slingshot to kill three snowcocks at once while Tanjiro and Genya hunted with him.
  • Tanjiro asked when he and Genya could take the trial on Mount Fujikasane, and Haruto questioned their endurance and fighting skills to delay giving them an answer.
  • Haruto asked Sakonji Urokodaki how to judge whether the boys were ready, and Urokodaki agreed to handle it.
  • Haruto returned from patrol and found Sabito sitting on a giant boulder; Urokodaki then told Tanjiro and Genya they had to meet the boulder-cutting requirement.

Ch. 106The Pot

Haruto and Sabito joined Kyojuro and Mitsuri in Tokyo to hunt a demon suspected of abducting children during the Shichi-Go-San Festival. As the search began, five-year-old Kaoru became separated from his parents and was swallowed by a jade pot.

  • Sabito told Haruto that children had gone missing during past festivals and that Kagaya had assigned them to help Kyojuro hunt the suspected demon in Tokyo.
  • Haruto and Sabito met Kyojuro and Mitsuri in Tokyo, and Kyojuro ordered them to split up and search for the demon.
  • Kaoru wandered away from his parents in the festival crowd and later failed to find them.
  • Kaoru followed a glowing goldfish into a dark alley, where it vanished and left behind a jade pot.
  • Kaoru touched the pot and was swallowed as a shrill voice laughed from inside it.

Ch. 107Water Prison Pot

Haruto and the other Hashira discovered that a demon was using enchanted pots to abduct children and identified him as Upper Rank Five, Gyokko. Mitsuri Kanroji encountered Gyokko alone, and he attacked her with his Water Prison Pot Blood Demon Art.

  • Haruto questioned the parents of missing Shuko and noticed a strange pot on a stall roof.
  • Haruto, Sabito, and Kyojuro detected demonic energy in the pots and ordered the Corps to destroy them.
  • The Hashira confronted Gyokko, an Upper Rank demon who escaped through a pot before they could strike him.
  • Mitsuri searched for suspicious pots, then found Gyokko after a Corps swordsman disappeared.
  • Mitsuri shattered one of Gyokko's pots, and Gyokko retaliated by using Water Prison Pot.

Ch. 108Yeah, Sure, Whatever

  • Gyokko revealed a sculpture made from the bodies of children and Swordsmen, and Haruto condemned it and Gyokko’s pots.
  • Haruto mocked Gyokko’s inability to defend his art, enraging him until he unleashed Blood Demon Art: Octopus Pot Hell.

Ch. 109Is That It?

Haruto, Kyojuro, and Mitsuri fought Gyokko as he unleashed giant octopus tentacles, and Haruto severed the demon’s head before realizing he had only struck a shed skin. Gyokko emerged in a faster, scale-covered true form, but Haruto dismissed his transformation as unimpressive.

  • Gyokko attacked Haruto, Kyojuro, and Mitsuri with enormous octopus tentacles, which they cut apart with their Breathing techniques.
  • Haruto used Star Breathing, Sixth Form: Falling Star Flash, to slice off Gyokko’s head fin and make him bleed.
  • Kyojuro distracted Gyokko with repeated insults while Haruto prepared another attack.
  • Haruto used Star Breathing, Ninth Form: Moon-Banishment, but discovered Gyokko had escaped his pot by shedding his skin.
  • Gyokko revealed his pitch-black, scale-covered true form and boasted about its beauty, while Haruto called him a show-off and asked, “Is that it?”

Ch. 110Transparent World

Haruto, Sabito, Kyojuro, and Kanroji fought Gyokko as the Upper Rank demon unleashed fish-based attacks and poisoned Haruto. After recovering, Haruto focused his perception and entered the transparent world, leaving the battle at a turning point.

  • Gyokko attacked the slayers with Ten Thousand Gliding Sticky Fish, and Haruto and Kyojuro shielded Kanroji while Sabito returned from evacuating civilians.
  • Haruto struck Gyokko's arm, but Gyokko transformed the tip of Haruto's blade into a fish with his God's Hand.
  • Haruto taunted Gyokko about his former life as a potter, enraging him and prompting him to unleash Thousand Needle: Fish Kill.
  • Gyokko's poisoned needles numbed Haruto, but the antidote and his resistance helped him recover while Sabito and Kyojuro held off the demon.
  • Haruto concentrated on Gyokko's movements until he saw Gyokko's body turn transparent and entered the transparent world.

Ch. 111The battle ends

Haruto used the Transparent World to analyze Gyokko and helped Sabito, Kyojuro, and Mitsuri Kanroji defeat the Upper Rank demon. After Gyokko died, Haruto collapsed with his broken sword and feared the Wind Chime Spirit would hunt him again.

  • Haruto entered the Transparent World, saw through Gyokko’s movements, and cut the demon while Sabito and Kyojuro fought him.
  • Haruto warned the others to retreat from Gyokko’s Blood Demon Art, then intercepted the attack and fought back with his broken Nichirin Blade.
  • Haruto used Star Breathing, Ninth Form: Moon-Banishment, and severed Gyokko’s head.
  • Haruto smashed Gyokko’s pot and condemned his art as trash as the demon crumbled away.
  • Kyojuro celebrated the victory, Mitsuri Kanroji cried with relief, and Sabito checked on Haruto, who lay exhausted and worried that the Wind Chime Spirit would hunt him again.

Ch. 112Gyokko's Human Days

Gyokko’s childhood in a fishing village showed how his grotesque art and disregard for human life took shape. After he killed a child and was left for dead, Muzan offered him demonhood, and Gyokko accepted, slaughtered the villagers, and became an Upper Rank demon devoted to Muzan.

  • Gyokko experimented with stitching fish and animals together, but the villagers and his parents rejected and punished him for his creations.
  • After his parents died in a storm, Gyokko saw their mutilated bodies as artistic material and secretly began making pots decorated with dead animals.
  • A child mocked one of Gyokko’s pots, so Gyokko killed him and displayed his body stuffed inside a pot.
  • The child’s father drove a spear through Gyokko’s chest, and Muzan appeared as Gyokko lay dying.
  • Gyokko drank Muzan’s blood, killed everyone in the fishing village, and became an Upper Rank demon devoted to Muzan.

Ch. 113I wanted to see you

After the Demon Slayer Corps learned that Haruto, Urokodaki, Rengoku, and other swordsmen had slain Upper Rank Five, Gyokko, Kagaya and Shinobu worried about the cost of the battle. Haruto arrived at the Butterfly Mansion, where Shinobu embraced him, and he reassured her that everyone would be all right.

  • A Kasugai Crow announced Gyokko's death, and Kagaya regretted sending the Hashira into battle without first assessing the danger.
  • Shinobu heard the news at the Butterfly Mansion and learned that six swordsmen had died, while none of the other survivors were in mortal danger.
  • Kanae's Kasugai Crow delivered Oyakata-sama's order for a Hashira Meeting at the Ubuyashiki estate the next day.
  • Masachika Kume brought the wounded to the Butterfly Mansion, where Haruto woke in the cart and admitted he had come because he wanted to see Shinobu.
  • Shinobu embraced Haruto, and he held her close and promised that she and everyone else would be all right.

Ch. 114Sowing Seeds

Haruto and the other Hashira gathered at Headquarters, where Kagaya celebrated Gyokko’s defeat and Haruto shared what he had learned about the Transparent World. Haruto left the swordsmen with a way to strengthen their chances against Muzan, while Muichiro still could not recall his lost memories.

  • Haruto spoke with Muichiro about his forgotten memories and told him to seek Haruto out if he still could not remember.
  • Haruto joined the Hashira at the Ubuyashiki estate, where they discussed the battle against Gyokko and Himejima expressed regret that he had not helped.

  • Haruto recounted Gyokko’s Blood Demon Arts and explained how he had entered the Transparent World during the battle.
  • Haruto shared the details of the Transparent World with the swordsmen so they could learn the skill and prepare for their fight against Muzan Kibutsuji.

Ch. 115A conversation

Haruto told Kagaya about the Transparent World and the three ancient abilities of demon slayers, then revealed that Tamayo’s potion had changed his body. He suggested Kagaya seek Tamayo’s help if he wanted to live to see Muzan defeated.

  • Kagaya explained that the Demon Slayer Mark, Transparent World, and Bright Red Nichirin Sword had been used by Sengoku-era swordsmen, but the Mark’s users died before age twenty-five.
  • Kagaya recounted how Yoriichi Tsugikuni had been condemned and expelled from the Demon Slayer Corps despite nearly killing Muzan.
  • Haruto cut his arm with a scalpel, and Amane watched the wound heal as Kagaya and she feared he had become a demon.
  • Haruto explained that he had injected himself with Tamayo’s latest potion, developed from Genya’s blood, which could modify a swordsman’s body.
  • Haruto urged Kagaya to visit Tamayo if he wanted to live to see Muzan killed, while admitting he did not know what he might become.

Ch. 116The Upper Ranks Assemble

Haruto faced competing invitations from the Hashira, who wanted to learn more about the Transparent World, while Muzan assembled the Upper Ranks in the Infinity Castle after Gyokko's death. Muzan condemned their failures and ordered them to avoid drawing attention as he pursued the Blue Spider Lily and a demon immune to sunlight.

  • Gyomei Himejima, Tengen Uzui, Kanae, Shinobu Kocho, and Sanemi Shinazugawa tried to persuade Haruto to visit them and explain the Transparent World.
  • Akaza confronted Doma in the Infinity Castle, and Doma teased him about eating women and challenging him in a rank replacement blood battle.
  • Daki insulted the hunched old demon, whose eyes identified him as Upper Rank Four, while Kokushibo arrived and the Upper Ranks gathered without Gyokko.
  • Muzan announced that three Hashira had killed Gyokko and rebuked the Upper Ranks for failing to kill any of them.
  • Doma offered to send his followers on a massacre, but Muzan refused, warning that Koyuki's recent killings had drawn the government's attention.
  • Muzan declared that he wanted the Blue Spider Lily and a demon that did not fear sunlight so he could attain immortality.

Ch. 117The Upper Ranks

Muzan ordered the Upper Ranks to find the Blue Spider Lily and announced a rank replacement blood battle to fill the vacant position. After Kokushibo stopped Akaza and Doma from fighting, Daki remembered the Takanashi connected to the white Haori she kept, and Gyutaro promised to eat him next time they caught him.

  • Muzan warned the demons not to let the Demon Slayer Corps use them as stepping stones and said only the strongest could earn the vacant Upper Rank through a rank replacement blood battle.
  • Akaza asked Muzan about the swordsman with a demon slayer mark, and Muzan injured him before ordering him to find the Blue Spider Lily immediately.
  • Doma taunted Akaza, who attacked him, but Kokushibo stopped the fight and warned them against unauthorized combat.
  • Daki returned to her underground passages in the Entertainment District and looked at a white wintersweet Haori among the people trapped by her Blood Demon Art.
  • Gyutaro told Daki not to spare anyone and offered to eat Takanashi the next time they caught him.

Ch. 118The Children of Mount Sagiri

Haruto watched Tanjiro and Genya struggle to cut the oversized boulders on Mount Sagiri while Takeo joined them and shared the Kamado children’s grief over their family. When Shinobu arrived to examine Nezuko, she brought Kanao, who appeared to be training as a Demon Slayer candidate.

  • Haruto learned from Urokodaki that Sanemi had secretly asked him to make Genya’s entrance-test challenge harder, so Urokodaki had enlarged both Genya’s and Tanjiro’s boulders.
  • Takeo told Haruto that the Kamado children missed their mother and siblings, and that he was afraid to bring them to see the sleeping Nezuko.
  • Haruto let Tanjiro and Genya continue their futile boulder training, believing they needed to experience helplessness and push past their limits.
  • Haruto received word that Shinobu was coming to Mount Sagiri to examine Nezuko, so he sent the boys to bathe and clean their rooms.
  • Shinobu arrived on Mount Sagiri with Kanao, who wore a Nichirin Blade and appeared to be training as a swordsman candidate.

Ch. 119Kanao

Shinobu Kocho confirmed that Nezuko was healthy despite surviving on sleep instead of human flesh or blood, while Haruto reflected on what allowed demons to resist their cravings. Kanao demonstrated her exceptional swordsmanship by splitting a boulder with one slash, leaving Tanjiro and Genya amazed and prompting Shinobu to advise them on their training.

  • Shinobu Kocho told Tanjiro and Takeo that Nezuko’s vital signs were normal and that she appeared to be replenishing her energy through sleep.
  • Haruto asked Shinobu why Kanao had begun training to kill demons, and Shinobu explained that Kanao had secretly watched Kanae train and learned Flower Breathing.
  • Shinobu called Kanao over to demonstrate her skill, and Kanao split Tanjiro and Genya’s boulder with a single slash.
  • Tanjiro and Genya reacted in disbelief, while Genya asked Haruto to teach him how to do the same.
  • Shinobu praised Kanao’s keen eyesight, told Tanjiro to practice Sun Breathing more, and reassured Genya that he was already doing well.

Ch. 120Genya's heart

Genya struggled with the limits of his abilities, but Haruto and Tanjiro supported him as he chose to keep training. With the next trial on Mount Fujikasane less than a month away, Genya finally split a boulder with one slash after taking a Demonization Pill, while Tanjiro advanced in Sun Breathing.

  • After Shinobu Kocho and Kanao left, Tanjiro discovered that his keen sense of smell revealed threads leading to his opponents' weaknesses, and he split a boulder.
  • Tanjiro encouraged Genya to use one of his keen senses, but Genya believed his sense of taste meant he could only grow stronger by devouring demons.
  • Genya went into the woods to vent his frustration, and Tanjiro followed to comfort him; Haruto and Sakonji Urokodaki waited for them and reassured Haruto that Genya would not give up.
  • Genya promised Haruto he would train hard and go with Tanjiro to the next trial on Mount Fujikasane, while Haruto kept the boys awake with a long heart-to-heart.
  • As the boys continued training, Genya strengthened his body and eventually split a boulder with one slash after swallowing a Demonization Pill, while Tanjiro improved in Sun Breathing.

Ch. 121Headlong boar charge

Haruto watched Tanjiro and Genya leave for the Mount Fujikasane trial, then discovered that Nezuko had awakened. After the trial, he went to collect the boys and was rammed by a boastful swordsman wearing a boar mask.

  • A swordsman wearing a boar mask charged down the path, boasting about the trial and declaring himself the strongest.
  • The boar-masked swordsman rammed Haruto's stomach, but Haruto stood firm and worried that the impact had upset his noodles.

Ch. 122The Kamaboko Squad Meets

Haruto encountered Inosuke Hashibira after the trial and sent him back to collect his uniform, Kasugai Crow, and food. At Mount Fujikasane, Tanjiro, Genya, and Zenitsu were joined by the boar-masked Inosuke, who demanded food.

  • Inosuke charged at Haruto, who dodged his attacks and scolded him for fighting recklessly.
  • Haruto learned Inosuke had passed the Demon Slayer Corps trial but had left without collecting his uniform or Kasugai Crow.
  • After hearing about food, Inosuke hurried back up the path to get something to eat.
  • At Mount Fujikasane, Tanjiro and Genya spoke with Zenitsu about surviving the trial and argued over his fear of demons.
  • Inosuke appeared in the courtyard, frightened Zenitsu, and demanded food from the group.

Ch. 123A new mission

After the boys passed Final Selection, Haruto received a letter explaining that Kagaya was gravely ill and had ordered a new mission to hunt demons despite their disappearance. Haruto and Gyomei set out to investigate separate territories as Tanjiro reunited with Nezuko and Genya wondered what the letter contained.

  • Zenitsu left to tell his grandfather that he had passed the trial, while Haruto received a letter from Kagaya’s Kasugai Crow and sent Tanjiro and Genya home.
  • Haruto read that Kagaya had met Tamayo, received an injection, and feared he had little time left to fulfill his vow to destroy Muzan Kibutsuji.
  • Amane Ubuyashiki’s letter assigned Haruto and Gyomei Himejima separate territories to search for demon activity and eliminate weaker demons.
  • Gyomei heard the mission from his Kasugai Crow, mourned Kagaya’s condition, and descended the mountain with his weapons.
  • Tanjiro reunited with Nezuko on Mount Sagiri, while Genya wondered about Haruto’s letter and a Nichirin Blade lay unnoticed in the cabin.

Ch. 124The vengeful scarecrow

Haruto investigated rumors of a vengeful scarecrow in Fushui Village and learned that villagers had murdered Yuanxia Yamato’s father to steal the family’s property. He waited in the cornfield for the scarecrow to appear, unsure whether he would fight the demon or flee.

  • Haruto arrived in Fushui Village to investigate the scarecrow sightings while the police controlled the fields.
  • Haruto questioned villagers and learned that Yuanxia Yamato’s father had been smothered by villagers who wanted his land and possessions.
  • Haruto learned that the man who had died in the field had been one of the killers and had gone out to catch whoever was making scarecrows resembling Yamato.

  • Haruto found bird feathers, animal tracks, and bloodstains in the fields, then sat down to wait for nightfall and the scarecrow.

Ch. 125Buddha · Demon

Haruto confronted Yuanxia Yamato, a demon who had been hiding in his own house and returning to the fields to harvest corn for his father. After Yamato revealed that the demon who transformed him had gone to Jiangnan Town to witness a Blood War, Haruto killed him, and Yamato reunited with his father in his final moments.

  • Haruto discovered Yuanxia Yamato leaving the Yuanxia House and confronted him in the fields.
  • Yamato attacked Haruto with a sickle, then used a paintbrush to summon a powerful but short-lived Buddha Eye.
