Haruto traveled toward Jiangnan Town to investigate a possible demon attack, then reunited with Genya during a mission and learned that Tanjiro's swordsmith was Haganezuka. After meeting newspaper editor Miyamaru Rei, Haruto proposed using newspaper advertisements to gather rumors about demons and sent the idea to Kagaya.
Haruto investigated the aftermath of a Blood War in Jiangnan Town, then tracked down and killed Lower Rank Two Rokuro. Rokuro had fled after witnessing Enmu defeat Rui, while Haruto continued searching for the other demons’ trails.
After killing Rokuro, Haruto learned that Rui lived on Mount Natagumo and headed there. Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke were also ordered to the mountain, while Giyu changed course to keep pursuing Lower Rank One.
Haruto arrived at Mount Natagumo, found Zenitsu despairing alone, and brought him to join Tanjiro and Inosuke. After freeing controlled swordsmen and sending the boys to track the spider threads, Haruto faced a demon who identified himself as Lower Five and declared that anyone in his way must die.
Haruto stayed to protect the endangered swordsmen as demons attacked across Mount Natagumo, while Shinobu Kocho and Haruto arrived to rescue them. The chapter ended with Shinobu and Haruto striking together with their respective breathing forms.
Haruto defeated the massive demon and asked Inosuke to become his Tsuguko, but Inosuke misunderstood and offended him. Elsewhere, Tanjiro and Nezuko fought Rui, Lower Five, and Haruto hurried to help them with Inosuke following.
Tanjiro fought Rui until the demon reclaimed the blood he had shared with his family and transformed. Haruto rescued Tanjiro and Nezuko, then faced Rui with Star Breathing, leaving the outcome of his attack unresolved.
Haruto and Tanjiro defeated Rui at Mount Natagumo, and Tanjiro mourned the demon while Haruto reminded him that Rui would face punishment for his crimes. After the battle, Haruto reunited with Shinobu, while Zenitsu mistakenly believed the girl who had saved him was meant for Haruto.
Giyu Tomioka pursued Lower Rank One Enmu and was trapped in a dream of his sister Tsutako. He broke free and nearly beheaded Enmu, but a biwa sounded and the demon vanished.
Muzan punished Enmu for the deaths of Rokuro and Rui, then gave him more of his blood after Enmu welcomed the prospect of being killed by him. At the Hashira Meeting, Giyu reported that Enmu had vanished, while the Hashira examined Nezuko and Sanemi remained convinced that a demon could not be trusted.
Haruto struggled to stay awake during the meeting about Tanjiro and Nezuko, while several Hashira voiced their trust in him and Nezuko. Kagaya revealed that his health and eyesight had improved and hinted that a demon was connected to his illness.
At the Hashira Meeting, Kagaya explained the Demonization Potion’s effects, and several Hashira volunteered to receive injections after learning it granted slow regeneration. The Corps then accepted Tanjiro and Nezuko more readily, and Kagaya urged Tanjiro to prove himself by defeating one of the Twelve Kizuki.
Haruto returned to the Butterfly Mansion, where he found Tanjiro and the injured Demon Slayers recovering amid Aoi’s argument with Zenitsu. He was surprised to discover that the delicate-looking patient addressing him as “Sunny Doll” was Inosuke.
Haruto comforted Shinobu after she revealed she had nearly sacrificed herself by replacing her blood with wisteria poison to kill an Upper Rank. The next day, Genya delivered a stronger replacement for Haruto’s mechanical training puppet, which Haruto still thought deserved a different name.
Haruto revisited Hirano and learned that an earthquake and flooding had destroyed the town, then continued on to his next patrol assignment. At the Butterfly Mansion, Murata complained about being scolded at Headquarters, and Shinobu announced that Tanjiro and the others would soon begin rehabilitation training.
Kanao and Inosuke fought the Mechanical Puppet while Tanjiro and Zenitsu watched, and Haruto received drugs from Tamayo. He gave Muichiro the Dream Thief Drug to help him recover his memories, then shared a tender moment with Shinobu.
Muichiro dreamed of his childhood with his twin brother Yuichiro and their clashes over Amane’s offer to join the Demon Slayer Corps. He woke after seven days in the potion-induced dream, but admitted he had forgotten the anchor that was supposed to keep him grounded.
Haruto responded to an urgent demon report in Hirano and found Saori, the woman he had helped years earlier, transformed into a demon calling herself Fisherwoman. She asked him where her husband was, while Haruto recognized a pipe from the ruined town and faced the possibility that Saori had killed its owner.
Haruto encountered Saori, now a demon called the Fisherwoman, and decapitated her after resisting her poisonous Blood Demon Art. Her body did not disintegrate, and a strange face appeared inside her swollen belly, leaving Haruto terrified.
Haruto defeated Saori’s headless body, and Rika emerged from the remains as the demon girl called Demon Princess. After hearing about the abuse she and her mother suffered, Haruto acknowledged that their tormentors had been wrong but refused to excuse their killings, and Demon Princess attacked him.
Haruto defeated the Demon Princess and learned that the Fisherwoman was Saori, who died remembering her human life. Back at the Butterfly Mansion, he learned that Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu had gone to the Mugen Train to meet Kyojuro, then rushed after them when a comment warned him to help.
Haruto reached the station where the Mugen Train incidents had occurred and learned that Kyojuro had recently bought all the bento there. As Haruto stopped to eat, a fleeing demon raced toward the station, and Haruto caught it by the head.
Haruto and Kyojuro defeated a foul demon outside the station, and Kyojuro spoke with a grandmother who had known his father, Shinjuro. The two shared breakfast before Kyojuro loudly announced that he had eaten five bentos.
Haruto and Kyojuro boarded the Mugen Train to hunt the demon responsible for its deaths, while three new recruits also sneaked aboard. Haruto sensed a demon on the moving train and prepared to face the suspected Upper Rank Three, Akaza.
Haruto fought Upper Rank Three Akaza after Akaza arrived at the Mugen Train, while Tanjiro, Inosuke, Kyojuro, and Zenitsu battled Enmu and protected the passengers. Akaza healed from Haruto’s strike and tried to recruit him as a demon, then attacked again.
