The boy wiped the sweat from his forehead. Just then, a man wearing a Tengu Mask appeared silently beside them.

"Lin Guang, I've heard people have gone missing near the foot of the mountain. It may be a demon. Come with me."

"Yes, Grandpa Urokodaki."

Lin Guang put away his blade and followed Sakonji Urokodaki, countless thoughts swirling through his mind.

Giyu sent word yesterday, asking Grandpa Urokodaki to train a boy traveling with a demon to become a Demon Slayer. Looks like the story has already begun.

Suddenly, Nezuko appeared beside Tanjiro and kicked the demon's head clean off.

At the sight, Sakonji Urokodaki recalled Giyu Tomioka's letter.

Is this the boy traveling with a demon that Giyu mentioned in his letter?

Just then, the demon's headless body began fighting Nezuko, while its severed head sprouted arms and entangled Tanjiro.

Urokodaki did not intervene, but Lin Guang could hardly hold back any longer. This was his best chance to activate the system.

Blue water splashed from the blade as it sliced the demon's body in half at the waist, leaving it unable to move. The demon's head also lost consciousness as its body died.

Tanjiro let go of his axe. It fell to the ground, pinning the demon's head in place.

Then Tanjiro's voice reached Lin Guang's ears.

"Are... are you with the Demon Slayer Corps?"

Lin Guang shook his head. "My name is Lin Guang. I'm not a member of the Demon Slayer Corps yet, but I'll join someday."

Tanjiro said, "My name is Tanjiro, and this is my little sister, Nezuko. I'm sure you'll be able to join the Demon Slayer Corps."

"Thank you, but let's finish off the demon first." Lin Guang walked toward the demon's head on the ground, which had sprouted arms.

A piercing scream tore through the sky.

Amid its screams, the demon dissolved into the air.

An artificial voice sounded in Lin Guang's mind.

Hearing Sakonji Urokodaki's voice, Lin Guang pulled his attention away from the system.

"Grandpa Urokodaki." Lin Guang smiled faintly, then moved to stand behind Sakonji Urokodaki.

Then Sakonji Urokodaki turned to Tanjiro.

"I am Sakonji Urokodaki. You're the one Giyu Tomioka sent, correct?"

Hearing how Lin Guang addressed Sakonji Urokodaki, Tanjiro suddenly grew nervous.

"Ah... yes, that's me. My name is Tanjiro Kamado, and my little sister's name is Nezuko."

Sakonji Urokodaki's tone suddenly grew stern. "Tanjiro, what will you do when your sister eats a human?"

Tanjiro froze for a moment.

Seeing Tanjiro's reaction, Sakonji Urokodaki felt somewhat disappointed. Lin Guang, however, suddenly spoke on his own. "I would kill her with my own hands, then take my own life to atone."

Urokodaki was deeply heartened by Lin Guang's words.
