After explaining Pokémon evolution and settling in for the night, Lin Guang released his new Larvitar, which eagerly hugged his leg.

  • Lin Guang recognized Brock's father beneath his disguise and encouraged him to watch Ash Ketchum challenge Brock to learn about Brock's dream.
  • Lin Guang, Mio Takamiya, and Kaguya Ōtsutsuki reached the foot of Mt. Moon, where Lin Guang explained Moon Stones and Eevee's possible evolutions.

  • Lin Guang released Larvitar from its Poké Ball, and the Pokémon happily ran over and hugged his calf.

Ch. 652The researcher of Mt. Moon

Lin Guang, Mio Takamiya, and Kaguya Ōtsutsuki explored Mt. Moon and met researcher Li Ke, who explained the cave’s disturbance and his beliefs about Moon Stones and Pokémon from space. They spotted a Clefairy carrying a Moon Stone, but let her go and continued on their way.

  • Lin Guang fed Larvitar a stone condensed from the Power Stone’s energy, which began strengthening Larvitar’s body.
  • Lin Guang, Mio Takamiya, and Kaguya Ōtsutsuki entered a miners’ cave on Mt. Moon and defeated several wild Pokémon as they explored.
  • Mio Takamiya and Kaguya Ōtsutsuki learned that Larvitar came from the Johto Region and guessed that Lin Guang had obtained him in the same way as their Pokémon.
  • Researcher Li Ke met the group, identified himself as a researcher from Pewter City’s Science Museum, and offered to guide them through the mine.
  • Li Ke explained that people searching for Moon Stones had disturbed the cave and said he believed Moon Stones were spaceships that brought Pokémon from space.
  • The group saw a Clefairy carrying a Moon Stone, heard its Pokédex entry, and watched it disappear without trying to catch it.

Ch. 653The Clefairy of Mt. Moon

Lin Guang and his companions helped Kaguya Ōtsutsuki drive Team Rocket away from Clefairy and followed Clefairy and Pikachu to a hidden cave. There, they witnessed the Clefairy gather around a huge Moon Stone and begin a ritual.

  • Jessie, James, and Meowth tried to steal Moon Stones, but Kaguya Ōtsutsuki's Bulbasaur and Bellsprout defeated their Pokémon while Mio Takamiya's Pikachu stopped Meowth.

  • The Clefairy gathered around the enormous Moon Stone, bowed to Lin Guang and the others, and began dancing in a ritual-like pattern.

Ch. 654Heading to the Next Gym

  • Li Ke tried to protect the Moon Stone from Jessie, James, and Meowth, but fell when Meowth tripped him.
  • Lin Guang sent out Charmeleon, which knocked Koffing into James and burned Ekans, Jessie, and Meowth out of their tunnel before sending the trio flying.
  • Moon Stone fragments drifted down, and some Clefairy evolved into Clefable.
  • Li Ke decided to live with the Clefairy and hoped to travel into space with them, while Lin Guang wished him luck.
  • Three or four days after leaving Mt. Moon, Lin Guang’s group approached Cerulean City, and Lin Guang hurried ahead to challenge the Gym.

Ch. 655Cerulean City
