A Luo, now living as seven-year-old Lola Reno in the Hunter x Hunter world, tried to avoid her father’s dream of making her the strongest fighter and struggled through another loss at Heavens Arena. Hungry after being denied dinner, she sneaked toward the kitchen and encountered a silver-haired child who had struck her neck.
A Luo befriended the silver-haired boy Killua over stolen desserts, then learned he was from the Zoldyck Family and worried about the dangers around Heavens Arena. After Fan En intensified her training, A Luo found Killua gravely wounded in an alley and carried him home.
A Luo secretly cared for the injured Killua, who stayed with her and pushed her through a month of training. After returning to Heavens Arena, A Luo defeated Boro and advanced to the 80th floor, while Killua had already reached the 100th.
A Luo reached the 100th floor of Heavens Arena and narrowly won a difficult match by pretending to be unconscious before striking her opponent. After she fled in terror at the sight of Illumi, he questioned Killua about her and decided to visit her home.
A Luo feared Illumi after his unsettling prank and tried to protect herself by feeding him sweets and bluffing about horror movies. The next day, Killua revealed his family’s assassination background and explained why he had been sent to Heavens Arena.
After A Luo lost a match, she persuaded Fan'en Reno to let her resume special training, then struggled with insomnia. Two years later, Killua reached the two-hundredth floor of Heavens Arena and left to return to the Zoldyck estate, while Illumi hurried to welcome him home.
After saying goodbye to Killua, A Luo returned to her family’s dessert shop and found her parents under attack by men demanding the Life Stone. Fan'en Reno fought back with a strange Nen avatar, but the attackers’ next move left his real body’s dagger strike passing harmlessly through it.
A Luo witnessed Fan'en Reno die while saving her, then learned that Malena was the eldest daughter of the Corleone Family and had been taken away. After vowing to rescue her mother, A Luo was knocked unconscious by an arriving stranger she suspected was Chrollo.
The Phantom Troupe brought A Luo to their Meteor City base, where Chrollo investigated her memories and closely analyzed her reactions. He deduced that she feared a missing member and correctly identified Feitan.
A Luo tried to keep her secrets from Chrollo while being forced into cooking for the Phantom Troupe. After the Spiders ate all her breakfast without leaving her any, she refused to cook lunch until they paid her, then fed everyone properly.
A Luo feared Feitan’s return and the interrogation he would bring, but she began confessing to Chrollo after Feitan hurt her. She claimed she had died in a previous life as Kasuga, a Zoldyck Family butler, and been reborn in Lola’s body, leaving Chrollo’s reaction unclear.
A Luo tried to convince Chrollo that she had learned about the Phantom Troupe from the Zoldyck Family, and Shalnark’s investigation confirmed key details of her account. Chrollo judged her story more credible but still suspected she was mixing truth with lies.
Chrollo concluded that A Luo had truly been reborn but was hiding how she knew about the Zoldyck Family and the Phantom Troupe, and he ordered the Spiders to treat her as a dangerous collectible. After Shalnark confronted A Luo about favoring Uvogin, she reflected on how he was the only one who had treated her as a person and cried over the family she had lost.
After No. 8 survived an assassination attempt, Chrollo told the Phantom Troupe that the Zoldyck Family had been hired to kill them. A Luo learned the Council of Elders had commissioned the assassins after the Troupe rejected their recruitment and repeatedly clashed with Meteor City's factions.
Chrollo ordered the Phantom Troupe to kill the Council of Elders members who had hired the Zoldyck Family, while A Luo struggled to secure protection and survive the coming violence. As the Spiders prepared to leave, she still had no escape plan and feared being caught between the assassins and the Troupe.
A Luo realized Silva Zoldyck had attacked the Phantom Troupe, but Chrollo threw her into the fight, leaving her gravely wounded. Her warning about Alluka distracted Silva long enough for Chrollo and Machi to injure him badly, and Chrollo returned from checking on No. 8 with a troubled expression.
After surviving Silva’s attack, A Luo endured Chrollo’s examination while the Phantom Troupe recovered and discussed the failed assassination. Chrollo gave the Spiders a book about rare gemstones, whose description of the Life Stone left A Luo wondering whether it had created her.
A Luo resented Chrollo for treating her like a test subject, then hoped to escape Meteor City by leaving with Uvogin. Chrollo instead forced her Nen to awaken, and she survived the ordeal only to discover Uvogin had already left without her.
After awakening Nen, A Luo tried Water Divination but could not determine her affinity, while Chrollo and Feitan mocked her as useless. Feitan secretly interfered with her test, then checked it himself and concluded that she had no Nen affinity at all.
After realizing Feitan had slept unusually deeply, Chrollo questioned A Luo about her Witch Soup before the group departed Meteor City aboard a hijacked airship. A Luo vomited after Feitan killed an airline employee who tried to take her hostage, and the airship took off with her aboard.
A Luo traveled with Chrollo and the Spiders to a remote town, learning that she needed to stay alert among them. The group reached an inn, where A Luo tried to pass herself off as Chrollo and Pakunoda’s daughter to secure a room.
A Luo endured Feitan’s revenge for mocking him, then won a peaceful night by offering him a feast. Rested at last, she began to suspect the Phantom Troupe had come to the remote town for something other than recruiting and feared their plans could bring bloodshed.
After realizing the Phantom Troupe had come to town to steal and destroy, A Luo tried to figure out how to limit the danger without risking herself. She promised to cook for Chrollo, Machi, and Pakunoda in exchange for safe, undisturbed sleep, hoping they would protect her from Feitan.
A Luo tried to use Granny Heidi’s concern to get a break from cooking, but Chrollo invented a false family tradition and pressured her into admitting she had lied. After Granny Heidi left, the Spiders turned their cold attention on A Luo.
Feitan found no Nen users in town, but Machi’s intuition and Chrollo’s reasoning led the group to a guest named Robin at the inn. Chrollo brought A Luo along to confront him, and Robin drew a dagger as A Luo feared Chrollo might use her as a shield.
