In Izzy Izumi's room, images flickered across the computer screen. They showed Zheng Fan cleaving Knightmon in two with a single stroke. Everyone had gathered at Izzy's house today to watch the footage.
But some people always saw the world differently from everyone else. Miyako kept pestering Oura, asking him to tell her about that Zeng Xiao Xian again and again.
For Tai and the others, although they couldn't understand Zheng Fan's swordsmanship, repeated viewing could still offer a tiny spark of insight. For Iori and the others, however, the footage looked incredibly cool but wasn't worth a damn beyond that.
The footage continued. After Zheng Fan killed Knightmon with a single stroke, ten Mammothmon, Ultimate-level Digimon, charged out of the jungle with howls. Onscreen, Zheng Fan swung his sword, weaving a net of blades through the air. Without the slightest hesitation, the Mammothmon hurled themselves at it one after another, struck the net, and died. Although the viewers knew his swordsmanship involved turning an opponent's strength against them, using a small force to deflect a much greater one, they simply couldn't see how. Being impressed without understanding anything made the exercise pointless.
Listening to Oura and Miyako's conversation, Izzy had a sudden thought. He paused the video and asked Oura, "Oura, you said he flew away after saving you?"
"Yes. Zeng Xiao Xian's partner Digimon is called Flymon, a Digimon capable of flight." Having answered the question, Oura looked expectantly at Izzy, hoping he had discovered something new.
"Look. This is the first time Zheng Fan smiled in the video. We all assumed it was because he'd killed every enemy. But at this moment, he should have been looking up at the sky-at Zeng Xiao Xian, who saved Oura. Unfortunately, we don't have any footage from that direction." Izzy
