Background / History
System Bug and Human Transformation
Qingwu originally lived inside Cao De’s system, where he skimmed the host’s Emotion Points. Cao De recalls that the deductions escalated until Qingwu left him no points at all. Qingwu later admits to taking them 178 181.
While Qingwu was sleeping inside the system, its Control Panel issued an urgent bug warning. The resulting anomaly destroyed his surroundings and rendered him unconscious; he awoke on a hilltop in a female human body. He subsequently took a long-term hotel room in Spirit City and began using the Shame Value System 176 188.
Partnership in the Past
Cao De tracks Qingwu through the system’s coordinates and confronts him in the hotel. Qingwu claims to be an ordinary transmigrator, then uses an Escape Card to flee ten thousand li to the Star Dou Great Forest. Cao De follows him and overhears his complaints to the system, forcing Qingwu to admit that he is the former System Bug. Qingwu knows neither why they have traveled into the past nor how to return 176 177 178.
The two sign a blood-sealed Great Dao Contract to cooperate in earning enough points for a system upgrade. Qingwu attempts to prohibit Cao De from hitting him during their partnership and approaching him afterward, but Cao De’s hidden attachment grants his commands greater authority. Cao De also persuades Qingwu to spend his last two unlimited credit purchases on Causality-Avoidance Masks 179 188.
Their point-earning partnership becomes an intimate relationship. Over a month, Cao De takes Qingwu to places including the Far North, Sea God Island, and Sunset Forest. After upgrading the system, they obtain the resources needed to investigate the altered future, correct causality, and purchase a Time Travel Card 181 182 183 189.
Return and Household Life
Qingwu initially believes his contract will prevent him from accompanying Cao De home and cries at the prospect of separation. Learning about the hidden attachment reassures him that Cao De can take him along, although he remains angry about being deceived 188.
Before their departure, Qingwu confirms thousands of causality modifications. He secretly inserts a condition intended to make Cao De call him “Daddy,” but adds a fallback so that refusal will not endanger Cao De. They then enter the Time Travel Card’s vortex together 189.
After returning, Cao De introduces Qingwu to the women in his household. Qingwu later designs their villa, welcomes Xiao Lingmeng during Cao De’s recovery, and briefs Cao De on Spirit Hall’s negotiations with the Heaven Dou Empire. His system subsequently reveals that the world has entered an age of spiritual energy 193 198 199.
Appearance
Qingwu’s human body is consistently perceived by others as that of a beautiful young woman 180.
- Clothing: Wears dresses and skirts, including a white dress during his escape to the Star Dou Great Forest; owns a wardrobe containing many styles 177 180 188.
- Veil: Covers his face while moving through Spirit City 176 180.
- Facial features: Has large eyes and soft, slightly plump cheeks that redden easily when pinched 182 183.
- Accessory: Carries a round fan during his later household appearances 198.
Personality
Qingwu is mischievous and openly resentful of Cao De’s authority. He repeatedly imagines becoming strong enough to reverse their positions, pranks Cao De by decorating his face and hair, and rehearses ordering Cao De’s portrait around. His defiance often gives way to fear or bargaining when confronted 177 178 183 184 187 188.
Despite having exploited Cao De as a System Bug, Qingwu is anxious about being exploited by his own system. A large point balance makes him feel secure, while expensive shop prices provoke accusations of fraud. He works persistently to earn points because he considers himself unable to manage without the system 178 182.
Cao De’s protection lets Qingwu become playful and adventurous. He turns frightening free falls into an enjoyable bungee-jumping experience and eagerly tries street food. His attachment to Cao De eventually outweighs his earlier desire for independence, making the possibility of separation deeply distressing 180 188.
Abilities & Skills
Shame Value System
Qingwu earns points through his own embarrassment and spends them in the System Shop 178 180.
- Critical gains: Particularly intense embarrassment produces large “critical hit” rewards 180 181.
- Diminishing returns: Repeated experiences stop producing points as he becomes accustomed to them 180 181.
- Shop and inventory: Can purchase items, retrieve stored belongings, and access an extensive System Backpack 177 188.
- Item exchange: After the upgrade, objects can be converted into points; a used tissue yields only 0.01 Shame Points 182.
- Shared access: Cao De can inspect Qingwu’s purchases, view his panel, and track his coordinates; Qingwu cannot reliably conceal his system activity from him 177 178.
Affinity Bonus
Qingwu possesses an Affinity Bonus that allows him to travel through the Star Dou Great Forest without being attacked by its Soul Beasts 177 178.
- Nearby beasts glance at him and then ignore him 178.
- This does not protect him from Cao De’s pressure or pursuit 177 178.
Former System Knowledge
Qingwu retains knowledge of Cao De’s original rewards, but his understanding is incomplete 178 199.
- Identifies the Great Sun Heart Method as a method suitable for spiritual-energy cultivation 199.
- Explains that he could not control the contents of Cao De’s beginner gift pack 199.
- Cannot explain the time-travel anomaly or provide an immediate way home 178.
