"Haah... Seriously, why did the Military Police Brigade suddenly decide to investigate the Survey Corps? I was enjoying my beauty sleep. All these officers ever do is make us lower ranks run errands." A pretty girl with short, slightly wavy gray hair yawned.
"Hey! Hitch, could you stop slacking off all the time? This order came directly from the Central Military Police Brigade. Get your act together. This is our first mission since joining the Military Police Brigade," Marlowe reminded her.
"Who knows where Annie ran off to slack off? I haven't seen her in two days. I'm so jealous of that stone-faced girl. She gets to skip our very first mission after joining the Military Police Brigade," Hitch said listlessly.
"Annie? She probably had something to take care of and asked her superior for leave," Marlowe guessed.
"Hahahaha! You're as honest and uptight as ever, Marlowe. What could a soldier in the Military Police Brigade possibly have to take care of? She just didn't want to do the chores the higher-ups dumped on us, so she found an excuse to take time off," Hitch scoffed.
"Hitch!" Marlowe was deeply displeased with her lazy attitude. Damn it! Once I make it into the upper ranks of the Military Police Brigade, I'll put an end to this rotten attitude.
Marlowe and Hitch belonged to the same Military Police unit. Other members of their unit had come along as well.
