Aizen completed the first working Gigai and began researching how to restore consciousness to souls from the Shinobi World. Naruto planned to create an organization to manage the dead, while the others trained spirit power so they could leave the Sealing Space in Gigai.
After Madara Uchiha attacked the Fire Temple and abducted Sora, Naruto and the two Minatos realized Black Zetsu might have another pair of Rinnegan and could revive Madara in either world. As they discussed the threat, several enormous Tailed Beast Bombs hurtled toward Konoha.
Madara Uchiha revived the Ten-Tails and launched waves of Tailed Beast Bombs at Konoha and the other villages. Four arrivals protected Konoha from the second barrage, and Hashirama Senju revealed to Tsunade that he was a ghost with a physical body.
Naruto refused Aizen’s offer to become an Arrancar while Hashirama, Tobirama, and Hiruzen set out to confront Madara and the Ten-Tails. The four other shinobi villages mistook the Ten-Tails’ attacks for Konoha’s assault and marched toward the Land of Fire as Hashirama faced Madara.
Hashirama, Tobirama, and Hiruzen fought Madara and the Ten-Tails using spirit power. Hiruzen revealed his resurrección, and the chapter ended with Hashirama undergoing resurrección as well.
Hashirama used his Resurrección to overpower Madara, but Madara became the Ten-Tails Jinchuriki and transformed into Six Paths Madara. Meanwhile, Naruto, Aizen, and Minato captured Black Zetsu and exposed his identity, leaving Naruto to question him about his plans.
Naruto questioned Black Zetsu about his schemes and sought a way to free Ōtsutsuki Kaguya from Planetary Devastation. Wolffy offered a method to break the seal, while Aizen ended Hashirama and Madara's fight by immobilizing them.
Tobirama tried to kill the restrained Madara, but Minato and Hashirama stopped him before Naruto made Black Zetsu reveal the truth behind Madara’s plan. Madara rejected Hashirama’s faith in peace, while Naruto’s apparent promise to free Ōtsutsuki Kaguya alarmed the Hokage and gave Madara a dangerous new plan.
Naruto arranged for Itachi to teach Hashirama, Madara, Tobirama, and Hiruzen about red thought, while Madara and Hashirama supported releasing Ōtsutsuki Kaguya so they could kill her. After two days of lessons, Madara and Tobirama took the ideology seriously, Hiruzen reconsidered the will of fire, and Hashirama tried to learn its practical principles.
Minato Namikaze learned that the four major shinobi villages had invaded Konoha because they wrongly blamed it for Tailed Beast Bomb attacks, and he tried to prevent the conflict from distracting from Madara Uchiha and the Ten-Tails. As the enemy forces reached Konoha’s heartland and villagers demanded his removal, Jiraiya had still not returned, leaving Minato fearing the worst.
The four-village Allied Shinobi Forces reached Konoha’s gates, where civilians and ninja blamed Minato Namikaze for allowing them to advance. Tobirama Senju and Hiruzen Sarutobi arrived with Jiraiya, and Tobirama regarded the invaders as enemies.
Jiraiya finally told Hashirama Senju and the others that the Four Great Shinobi Villages were attacking Konoha, but Madara Uchiha kept Hashirama in class and sent Tobirama Senju and Hiruzen Sarutobi to defend it. After Tobirama routed the invading force, Madara persuaded Hashirama to join his revolution plan despite its potential casualties.
Wolffy completed a device to break Princess Kaguya’s seal, and he, Aizen, and Black Zetsu set off by rocket for the moon. As they departed, Madara learned Naruto had prepared a Urine Bomb to exploit his childhood weakness.
Naruto’s pee bomb caused Madara to hold his urine until his bladder and abdomen burst, though he quickly healed and claimed that was how he had overcome his weakness. As Wolffy, Black Zetsu, and Aizen reached the moon, Aizen captured Toneri Ōtsutsuki, while the Sage of Six Paths confronted Wolffy over his plan to affect the Lunar Core’s gravity.
Wolffy and Aizen confronted the Sage of Six Paths, and Aizen restrained him while Wolffy disrupted the seal on the moon. The moon broke apart, and Ōtsutsuki Kaguya emerged from the crack.
Ōtsutsuki Kaguya was freed and learned that her plan to fight her clan relied on the White Zetsu Army, while Aizen questioned her strategy. Meanwhile, the Second Hokage brought the four Kage to join the forced study sessions, leaving them intimidated by Madara Uchiha and Hashirama Senju.
Ōtsutsuki Kaguya returned to the Shinobi World and attacked Madara Uchiha, but his Limbo clones overwhelmed her because she lacked the Ten-Tails and had poor combat skills. After learning that Kaguya had alerted the Otsutsuki, the group discussed preparing the Shinobi World for their arrival, and Black Zetsu finally declared their surrender.
Ōtsutsuki Kaguya extracted the Ten-Tails from Madara, and Black Zetsu stabbed him through the heart. Hashirama fought Kaguya while Tobirama went to save Madara, and the chapter ended with Madara reappearing alive in his resurrección.
Madara Uchiha unleashed his Resurrección and overwhelmed Ōtsutsuki Kaguya in battle while Hashirama and Tobirama watched. Elsewhere, Uchiha Itachi used Genjutsu to make the Four Kage attack one another.
Uchiha Itachi used nen aura to infiltrate and subdue the Four Kage, while Naruto made them record embarrassing videos. Meanwhile, Madara Uchiha, Hashirama Senju, Tobirama Senju, Hiruzen Sarutobi, and Black Zetsu began planning a shinobi-world war to make Ōtsutsuki Kaguya its undisputed boss, and the Sage of Six Paths felt relieved to see his mother smile.
The Four Kage returned to their villages and agreed to ally with Konoha against Ōtsutsuki Kaguya, while the Five Great Daimyos learned that the shinobi villages were joining forces. The chapter left the daimyos panicking over their loss of control and considering food-supply threats.
The Daimyo’s funding cuts split the Five Great Shinobi Villages, while the Five Kage agreed to unite against Princess Kaguya. Minato Namikaze learned who had orchestrated the crisis and accepted the plan as a chance to change the Shinobi World, as Naruto went to visit Obito.
Naruto recruited Obito to film the Fourth Shinobi World War in exchange for helping revive Rin, then revealed how Black Zetsu had manipulated Obito and the shinobi world. As the allied villages struggled to unite, Minato announced that the Daimyo's Residences of all Five Great Nations had been destroyed.
The five daimyo plotted to sabotage the Five Great Shinobi Villages’ alliance, but reincarnated shinobi assassinated them and Tailed Beast Bombs destroyed their residences. Minato Namikaze told the shocked Kage and village leaders that the enemy had also wiped out the daimyo-aligned clans, urging them to stop undermining the alliance.
Minato Namikaze revealed that Ōtsutsuki Kaguya planned to unleash the Infinite Tsukuyomi, helping calm tensions among the Allied Shinobi Forces before the Fourth Shinobi World War began. As the battle unfolded, Obito, Naruto, Minato, and others took up cameras and headed to the fronts as war photographers.
