By nine in the morning, Misato Katsuragi and her family of four had already arrived at NERV Headquarters.
Ritsuko Akagi had arrived ahead of them and was waiting in Technical Division 1.
First came physical examinations for the three Eligibles, excluding Misato Katsuragi, though the Chief Technician mainly stayed by Shinji Ikari's side.
After the synchronization rate grading system was established, the Eligibles had gained another training requirement.
However, neither Asuka nor Rei Ayanami had to participate in this training. They did not even know what it involved.
Simply put, it was extra coaching that the Chief Technician gave the Ace Pilot alone. Of course, even regular training did not mean much to the Ace Pilot himself.
Apart from the essential training to keep himself from getting rusty, Shinji Ikari now did the least simulation training of the three.
Asuka did the most, because she often volunteered for extra sessions.
Rei Ayanami was the most ordinary of the three in that respect. She trained for exactly as long as she was told to.
Soon, it was time for simulation training. Maya Ibuki first bowed to Shinji Ikari.
She brought three physical examination reports over to the group, then handed the documents to Ritsuko Akagi.
Normally, examinations were performed both before and after training to make comparisons easier.
"Ahem. All right, Rei, Asuka, go do your simulation training."
As she spoke, she looked at the boy standing between the two girls and beckoned.
"Shinji, come with me. We're going to the usual place today."
"Why does that idiot Child of God get to train separately again?"
Asuka voiced her doubts. For the past half month, Ritsuko Akagi had taken Shinji Ikari away for private training every time.
Before that, she and Shinji Ikari had either practiced their
