"The Simulated Body actually shattered the protective wall? How is that possible?" Ritsuko Akagi stared at Shinji Ikari's Simulated Body in shock.
The Simulated Body's capabilities were wholly unsuited to combat, let alone breaking through the test site's defensive wall.
"This brat would be the most terrifying opponent imaginable if he became our enemy." Ritsuko Akagi gritted her teeth. "Activate the right arm's self-destruct sequence."
Maya Ibuki immediately smashed the glass beside her and pulled the emergency switch inside.
An explosion rang out, sending a shock wave rippling through the water, and the Simulated Body's arm snapped off.
"Polyribosome, attack!" Misato Katsuragi shouted.
"Attacking!" Maya Ibuki busied herself at the console.
All three women acted decisively. Fortunately, the Simulated Body was separate from the Cockpit, so they had no fear of accidentally injuring the pilot.
The cannon beneath the fish-shaped biological robot in the water aimed straight at Shinji Ikari's Simulated Body and fired a laser.
The blue-white laser beam instantly focused on the Simulated Body, but all they saw was a translucent, regular hexagonal screen of light flickering.
"An AT Field?!" Misato Katsuragi cried out.
"That brat really is hard to deal with!" Ritsuko Akagi's eyes widened, then she collected herself. "No, that's wrong. The Simulated Body is only a signal relay for remotely controlling the EVA. It can't generate an AT Field."
"Look at that." Misato Katsuragi pointed at the Simulated Body in the test site.
Dense red spots of light were glowing all over the Simulated Body.
"Pattern analysis: blue. There's no doubt about it. This is an Angel," Ritsuko Akagi said with certainty. "Connect me to the Central Control Room."
