"Stay where you are. I'll bring people over right away."
Misato Katsuragi's urgent warning came through the landline receiver. Faintly, he thought he could even hear her racking a pistol's slide to check the chamber.
Misato Katsuragi had a special trick for racking a slide one-handed. Just imagining it, Shinji Ikari thought it looked incredibly cool. Exactly what he would expect from a big sister in her twenties who had already made colonel.

"I'd love to take it easy for a bit and wait for you to make a cool entrance and save the day. But MAGI doesn't seem to be doing so well right now. There's no danger in sight yet, but who knows what'll happen in a minute."
"So you really are their targets? Damn it, have you run into them?!" Before Misato Katsuragi could even breathe a sigh of relief, she tensed up again.
"Not yet, but soon. I don't know how many there are yet, but they're helping me open the door. I should be seeing them any moment now."
"Do you have any weapons there? Or try getting back into the Entry Plug and closing the hatch manually!" Misato Katsuragi hurriedly offered what she thought were workable options. "I'll be there right away."
Ordinary infantry weapons had virtually no chance of damaging the Entry Plug. At the very least, it would keep them safe.
"I'm afraid there's no time. Besides, it should be safer where you are, so just wait there. Don't go running around. I'll bring Ayanami and Asuka to you. It won't take long," Shinji Ikari reassured her.
"That's enough talking. They're here."
"Hey, you little brat, don't do anything reckless... Hey, Shinji!" Misato Katsuragi cried out in panic, only to hear the call disconnect.
"Calm down," Ritsuko Akagi soothed her.
