Mark and his companions met Yatzil, Hathor’s avatar, at the Court of the Gods, where Mark learned that Khonshu had a history with Hathor. When the gathered gods summoned Khonshu through Mark, Osiris condemned him for bringing mortals into their court and threatened to imprison him if he manipulated the sky again.

• Yatzil introduced herself as Hathor’s avatar and said Hathor remembered Khonshu’s fondness for her melodies.
• Yatzil mistook Cyno and then Neuvillette for Khonshu’s avatar before Neuvillette explained that Mark was the avatar and they were his witnesses.
• Yatzil led Mark toward the gathered gods’ seats and asked whether Khonshu had told him the court’s rules.
• As Yatzil announced the gods present to hear Khonshu’s statement, Khonshu took control of Mark’s body.
• Osiris rebuked Khonshu for previously risking the gods’ secrecy and threatened to imprison him if he manipulated the sky again.
• Osiris angrily accused Khonshu of breaking the rules by bringing two uninvolved mortals into the Court of the Gods.

Khonshu demanded that Arthur Harrow be tried for plotting to release Ammit, while the Egyptian gods challenged Khonshu’s conduct and heard the accusation. Harrow appeared in court looking battered, blamed Khonshu’s Avatar for his treatment, and left the gods with a shocking claim.

• Khonshu argued that the gods had abandoned humanity, prompting Horus and Osiris to defend their refusal to interfere in human affairs.
• Tefnut’s representative asked Khonshu why he had come, and he demanded a trial for Arthur Harrow for plotting to release Ammit.
• Osiris summoned Harrow, who limped into court looking exhausted and distressed.
• Harrow blamed Khonshu’s Avatar for his inhuman treatment, and someone cried that it was impossible.

At the gods’ hearing, Harrow accused Khonshu of imprisoning and torturing him, then claimed Khonshu was secretly seeking Ammit’s Tomb with the Golden Scarab. When Harrow exposed Mark’s different identities and called him mentally disturbed, Mark struck him, and Cyno threw a staff that embedded itself in Osiris’s stone seat.

• Hathor defended Khonshu, but Isis and Osiris urged Harrow to explain his accusations before the gods.
• Harrow claimed Khonshu had imprisoned and tortured him, and accused him of secretly hiding the Golden Scarab to find Ammit’s Tomb.
• Khonshu lost his temper as Harrow turned the accusations against him and revealed that Mark’s records used the names Marc Spector and Steven Grant.
• Harrow called Mark a mentally disturbed madman, and Mark punched him, but Osiris sent Mark crashing face-first into the stone floor.
• Cyno helped Mark to his feet after throwing a staff into the center of Osiris’s seat, while Mark realized Khonshu was delighted.

Cyno confronted Osiris over his biased judgment against Khonshu and defended the fairness of the trial. When Osiris tried to attack him, Cyno invoked his divine spirit and challenged him with a lightning-wreathed claw.

• Osiris demanded to know why Cyno had thrown the Scepter at him, and Cyno said he had wanted to stop him from hurting Mark.
• Cyno argued that Osiris had been more violent than he was because Osiris had bloodied Mark's chin.
• Osiris declared Khonshu guilty and called for him to be sealed away, but Cyno accused Osiris of bias and ignoring evidence, including Neuvillette blocking Khonshu's attack.
• Enraged by Cyno's criticism, Osiris raised his hand to strike him, and Cyno summoned the Scepter back to his hand.
• Cyno invoked his divine spirit and transformed into the Pathfinding Oathsworn, then swung a giant lightning-wreathed claw at Osiris as someone cried, "Anubis!!!"

Cyno, Mark, Osiris, Horus, and Khonshu fought in the court until Neuvillette unleashed his Hydro power and stopped the clash. Osiris, Horus, and Khonshu ended up thrown onto the statues, and Neuvillette ordered everyone to remain silent.

• Osiris suspected Cyno might be Anubis's avatar as Cyno attacked him with lightning claws.
• Osiris hurled objects at Cyno, who destroyed them, while Hathor tried to stop their fight.
• Horus joined the battle, and Khonshu took control of Mark, who attacked Horus with Crescent Moon darts.
• Isis fled the fighting and begged Tefnut to intervene, but Tefnut's rain failed to stop the gods.
• Neuvillette unleashed a vast surge of Hydro that launched Osiris, Horus, and Khonshu into the court's statues.

Neuvillette stopped the gods’ fight and urged Osiris to let Khonshu present evidence against Harrow. When Osiris dismissed the witnesses, Cyno showed the court holographic recordings of Harrow’s actions, leaving Harrow exposed.

• Neuvillette called for the court to hear the plaintiff’s evidence, and Osiris calmed the gods and returned to his seat despite the sharp debris on it.
• Osiris demanded evidence from Khonshu, then rejected Neuvillette and Cyno as witnesses because he considered them accomplices.
• Neuvillette stopped Khonshu from lashing out and suggested that the gods watch recordings of Harrow’s actions.
• Cyno used a watch to project footage of Harrow demanding the Golden Scarab, judging people and taking their souls, and discussing his plan to resurrect Ammit.
• Harrow grew furious as the recordings played and accused the others of being despicable.

Cyno’s evidence convinced the gods that Harrow had plotted to release Ammit, and Osiris stripped him of his avatar powers. Hathor then revealed that awakening the sealed Anubis was the only way to restore the souls Ammit had devoured.

• Harrow denied Cyno’s evidence and accused Khonshu and Tony Stark of fabricating it, but Osiris rejected his defense.
• Osiris upheld Khonshu’s accusations, and the gods stripped Harrow of his avatar status and judgment powers.

Mark, Neuvillette, and Cyno objected to Hathor’s suggestion that they free Anubis, until she explained that his supposed crime was weighing the hearts of the gods’ avatars. Anubis had judged three of the six gods’ avatars unworthy and sent them to the afterlife, leaving the group to reconsider what kind of god he was.

• Mark worried that freeing another sealed god could make matters worse, while Neuvillette and Cyno rejected Hathor’s proposal as unlawful.
• Hathor assured them that Anubis was exceptionally law-abiding and explained that he might even resent being freed.
• Mark asked what crime had led to Anubis’s sealing, and Hathor revealed that he had become a “heart thief” before the Court of the Gods.
• Steven guessed that Anubis had stolen Osiris’s heart, and Hathor confirmed that he had taken the hearts of all the attending gods’ avatars.

Hathor explained why Anubis had been sealed and helped Mark, Cyno, and Neuvillette decide to search for the clay figurine holding him. She led them into the desert toward two possible pyramids, where a fierce sandstorm immediately stranded the group behind a stone slab.

• Hathor said Anubis had been sealed for judging Agents without permission and explained that his punishment had no specified duration.
• Neuvillette agreed to try freeing Anubis, while warning Hathor that they would take responsibility if he proved dangerous.
• Hathor identified the Lahun Pyramid in Faiyum and the Bent Pyramid near Saqqara as possible hiding places for the clay figurine.
• Hathor led Mark, Cyno, and Neuvillette through a passage that opened into the desert between the two destinations.
• A powerful sandstorm forced the group to shelter behind a stone slab, and Hathor nearly fell into the sand before two people caught her.

After Hathor left them in the desert, Neuvillette, Cyno, and Mark struggled through the heat until Steven took control and collapsed from exhaustion. After Cyno told a joke about a traveler wishing for a Wife Cake, Neuvillette misunderstood it as a true story, and the Traveler suddenly spoke up.

• Hathor waited for the sandstorm to pass, warned the three men, and left through a passage.
• Cyno led Neuvillette and Mark across the desert, but Mark grew exhausted and let Steven take control.
• Steven collapsed in the sand, and Neuvillette used Hydro to replenish everyone's fluids.
• Cyno gave Steven a Charcoal-Baked Coconut Cake and told a joke about a traveler wishing for a Wife Cake.
• Neuvillette mistook Cyno's joke for a true story, and the Traveler spoke up, prompting Neuvillette and Cyno to exclaim, "Traveler?!"

Lin Ze and his companions traveled to the Bent Pyramid to investigate the place after Neuvillette and Cyno freed Anubis in hopes of saving Scott. Inside, they discovered a chamber full of treasure, and Paimon began considering whether she could secretly take some.

• Lin Ze, Paimon, and Ned arrived through a portal, and Paimon reassured Ned that Wong and Strange were away and would not catch him using magic.
• Lin Ze explained that the group had seen what happened in the Court of the Gods and believed they could persuade Anubis to help.
• Ned brought water and hamburgers through a portal, helping the exhausted and thirsty Steven recover.
• Ned opened a portal to the Bent Pyramid, where Lin Ze and the others entered and explored its passageways and ancient murals.
• The group reached a chamber filled with gold, jewels, and other treasures, and Paimon wondered whether she could sneak one away.

Steven and the others reached the pharaoh’s burial chamber, found the miniature statue of Anubis, and smashed it to release the god. Anubis emerged furious at the tomb robbers and mocked the group for being so young.

• Khonshu warned Steven that the treasures were cursed, so the group left them behind and continued through the pyramid.
• Lin Ze and the others reached the main burial chamber and opened the pharaoh’s sarcophagus.
• The group found the sealed statue of Anubis in the mummy’s hands, and Cyno smashed it against the floor.
• Anubis appeared in a cloud of smoke and angrily cursed the tomb robbers for disturbing his tomb.
• Paimon wondered aloud whether Anubis had suffocated inside the statue, and Anubis retorted that gods did not need to breathe.
• Anubis looked over the group and mocked them for being young tomb robbers.

Cyno and his companions asked Anubis to recover the souls Ammit had devoured, and Cyno challenged the fairness of judging people for crimes they might commit in the future. Anubis demanded to test Cyno and pulled out his heart, leaving him unconscious in Lin Ze's arms.

• Anubis mistook the group for tomb raiders, then questioned Cyno about being a god's Agent.
• Anubis sensed Khonshu, who revealed himself and said the group had come to ask for help.
• Cyno explained that they wanted Anubis to recover the souls Ammit had devoured.
• Cyno argued that Ammit's judgments were unfair because they punished people for predicted crimes without evidence.
• Anubis took Cyno's heart to test him, and Cyno collapsed unconscious into Lin Ze's arms.

Anubis performed the judgment ritual on Cyno, whose heart balanced the scales with the feather almost instantly. Anubis then announced that the other three had to be judged too, while Lin Ze silenced Paimon's protest by stuffing her with cake.

• Steven checked that Cyno was breathing and found no wound on his chest, while Lin Ze covered him up.
• Anubis summoned his golden scales and placed Cyno's heart opposite a white feather to judge him.
• Cyno's heart made the scales level almost immediately, and Steven excitedly announced that Cyno had passed.

Lin Ze and the others completed their judgments, but Anubis took Steven after the scales could not determine his result. The group was swept away to find Anubis, while Venti’s cat allergy sent him to the roof as Nick Fury moved the meeting there.

• Paimon finished the flatbread, and Anubis poked Neuvillette before Cyno woke up.
• Lin Ze checked Cyno’s heartbeat, then rushed to catch Neuvillette when he collapsed, but Hydro safely supported him.
• Neuvillette passed judgment in seconds and cleaned Lin Ze’s dusty clothes with Hydro.
• Lin Ze passed out and woke to learn Anubis had taken Steven because the scales could not judge him; a sandstorm carried the group away.
• Venti sneezed after Gugu, a Flerken, entered the meeting room, then realized his cat allergy had sent him onto the roof.
• Nick Fury decided to let Gugu stay and moved the meeting to the rooftop.

Nick Fury warned Peter that Gugu was a dangerous Flerken, then left Peter in charge after Gugu swallowed Guoba and later spat him back out. Peter stayed behind to watch the cat and called several friends for advice.

• Nick Fury told Peter to supervise the children and warned him about Gugu’s tentacles and claws.

Mark woke confused in a hospital, mistook Lin for people from his past, and was guided through the ward to an appointment. The chapter ended with Mark recognizing the person waiting for him as Harrow.

• Lin helped Mark up, joked about his blind date, and gave him a Paimon doll to keep him company while he took the broken ceramic toy.

Mark rejected Doctor Harrow’s claim that his life and Steven were products of his mind, escaped the locked therapy room, and found Steven emerging from a sarcophagus. Their reunion was interrupted by Paimon, who called for them to open the door.

• Doctor Harrow told Mark that his world was mental and that Steven was a sanctuary built from trauma, prompting Mark to try to leave.
• After the sedative left him unable to stand, Mark broke the therapy room’s glass door, unlocked it, and fled from the pursuing medical staff.
• Mark hid in an empty treatment room and heard his own voice calling from an Egyptian sarcophagus.
• Mark opened the coffin and embraced Steven, who remembered Anubis judging them but learned from Mark’s silence that they had failed.
• A figure outside the room called herself Paimon and demanded that Mark and Steven open the door.

Paimon reunited with Steven and Mark in the deserted hospital and told them how she had ended up there. As the three set out to find the Traveler and the others, a talking hippopotamus appeared in the corridor and startled them.

• Mark opened the door, and Paimon accidentally struck his forehead before she realized Steven and Mark were two different people.
• Paimon explained that she had awoken hanging from a tree, found a room marked by signs of a struggle, and entered the hospital through an open window.
• Steven mistakenly blamed Anubis for Paimon's arrival, while Anubis buried the teasing Khonshu beneath a wave of sand.
• Paimon told Steven and Mark that the Traveler and their companions had gone looking for them, and the three hurried down the corridor to find them.
• Steven warned them not to open the coffin in the neighboring room, and an enormous talking hippopotamus appeared at the corridor door, frightening all three.

Mark rejected Harrow’s claim that the hospital was real and tried to escape after Harrow’s questions about his brother stirred painful memories. He came to in front of the talking hippo, where the hippo welcomed him, Steven, and Paimon to Duat, the realm of the dead.

• Mark insisted Harrow was not a real doctor and demanded that Harrow return Paimon Plush to him.
• Harrow questioned Mark about the talking hippo and his brother, prompting Mark to notice a half-eaten apricot and water on Paimon Plush.
• Mark asked Harrow about the apricot tree outside, then smashed the glass door and ran from the office.
• Mark stumbled and came around as Steven tried to wake him; Paimon said she had not been frightened by the hippo.
• The enormous hippo welcomed Mark, Steven, and Paimon to Duat, the realm of the dead.

Taweret took Paimon aboard a ship bound for the Field of Reeds, while Mark and Steven had to search their memories to heal their incomplete hearts. Lin Ze appeared on a Celestia-like path before Paimon picked him up, and the ship reached shore after Neuvillette and Cyno joined them.

• Taweret explained that Mark and Steven could not board because their hearts were flawed, and sent them into the ship’s memories to uncover the truth before it reached its destination.
• Taweret told Paimon she had attended Tony and Miss Potts’s wedding through a hippo doll, then led her aboard the ship bound for the Field of Reeds.
• Lin Ze awoke on a Celestia-like path, failed to open its stone gate, and waited until Paimon appeared and brought him to the ship.
• Neuvillette and Cyno boarded and told Lin Ze that their Duat had appeared as the Opera Epiclese and the Temple of Silence.
• Paimon cried out that the ship was coming ashore.

Steven and Mark passed Judgment and reached the Field of Reeds, where Anubis punished Ammit and freed the souls she had eaten. At the Avengers, Scott suddenly woke in his coffin and startled Deadpool, Clint, and an agent into screaming.

• Paimon and Lin Ze persuaded Taweret to delay the boat by repeatedly bumping the Steering Wheel, giving Steven and Mark time to return.
• Anubis weighed Mark and Steven's merged heart against the Feather, and the Scales balanced.
• Anubis summoned Ammit and attacked her until she released the souls she had stolen and eaten.
• Deadpool bragged to Scott about his Golden Coffin and his relationship with the Death Goddess while Clint watched the surveillance feed.
• Scott suddenly sat up in his coffin and screamed, making Deadpool, Clint, and a nameless agent scream too.

Lin Ze and his companions returned to the Avengers base after rescuing Scott from the Underworld, where Tony welcomed them and Nick Fury invited Mark to stay for a party. At the gathering, they met Carol Danvers, who had come to help Nick.

• Tony called Lin Ze and saw Scott eating, healthy and grateful after being revived.
• Strange used a portal to bring Lin Ze and the others back to the Avengers base, where Tony greeted them.
• Paimon tried to grab food before washing up, but Tony had F.R.I.D.A.Y. clear the table and Potts took her to clean up.
• Nick Fury persuaded Mark to stay for the party, while Steven eagerly looked forward to meeting more superheroes.

At Carol’s welcome party, Lin Ze insisted that Thanos would come to Earth, while Nick Fury kept the Infinity Stones’ locations secret. After Carol and Nick joked over Xiangling’s food, Nick secretly asked Paimon to get Nahida to read Carol’s thoughts because he suspected she was an impostor.

• Lin Ze told Carol that Thanos would definitely come and that he could sense the Power Stone drawing closer to Earth.
• Nick Fury said he did not know where the Infinity Stones were hidden and praised Xiangling’s food at Carol’s welcome party.
• Carol and Nick shared burgers and toast, and Nick went looking for Barbara’s drink after choking on spicy peppers.
• Lin Ze told Carol about his experiences in Egypt while Paimon brought him a plate of chocolate-banana Vegetable Pies.
• Nick Fury lured Paimon outside, asked her to have Nahida listen to Carol’s thoughts, and revealed that he believed Captain Marvel was an impostor.

Nick Fury realized that the Captain Marvel at the Avengers gathering was a Skrull impostor and warned Tony Stark that more Skrulls might have infiltrated the group. He left Tony in charge of keeping everyone there while he went to seek answers from a friend.

• Nick Fury recalled how Carol had tested his identity years earlier by asking about his odd toast habit, then realized the present-day Carol had failed to recognize his preferences and had misstated how her pager worked.
• Nick Fury told Paimon that Aether already knew Carol was an impostor and warned that Thanos's allies might be seeking the Infinity Stones and have found allies on Earth.
• Nick Fury asked F.R.I.D.A.Y. to summon Tony, who left the party after listening to Steven discuss Ammit and Thanos.
• Nick Fury tested Tony's identity with questions about Qiqi's birthday drawing, then told him that Captain Marvel was a fake and that Nahida had verified the Teyvat guests were genuine.
