Bruce learned that the Riddler planned to take the birthday gift he had given Ririko, while Oswald recognized the masked man as Edward Nygma. Ririko woke in Edward’s hideout, where he challenged her to solve the house’s riddles if she wanted to leave.
Ririko discovered that Edward had kidnapped her to use as bait in a trap for Batman, but her attempt to control him failed because he carried remnants of the Tomie Organization. Edward’s riddle letter sent Batman searching for her, while Oswald learned of the abduction and resented being excluded.
Oswald reacted to Edward's betrayal by ordering Butch to investigate him, while Ririko barricaded herself in her bedroom and rejected Edward's attempts to care for her. After Ririko became sick from expired milk, Edward entered her room, confessed how important his identity was to him, and kissed her, unaware that she had deliberately used the milk to lower his guard.
Bruce and Dick entered the Riddler’s deadly Minotaur Maze to rescue Ririko, while Edward explained his trap to her. Just as the countdown neared zero, Harvey Dent appeared on the platform and aimed his gun at Edward.
Harvey rescued Ririko from Edward’s maze, but Batman, Oswald, Butch, and Dick soon converged on the platform as Bane attacked. Edward escaped with Ririko and Oswald, where their argument over his betrayal and feelings for her was interrupted by Ririko urging them to focus on the danger.
Ririko and her allies helped Bruce defeat Bane with their combined powers, but Jerome’s ominous hotel invitation arrived at Ririko’s apartment afterward. The story left her facing a new mystery tied to Gotham Tower Hotel and Jerome.
Ririko went to a hotel expecting a date with Jerome, but discovered that Jeremiah had tricked her into meeting him. As Jeremiah held her, she noticed how much he resembled Jerome despite the system showing a different infatuation value.
Ririko stayed at the hotel so Jeremiah would reveal his bandaged left hand after three days, hoping to learn whether he was Jerome in disguise. She met Dick, who was investigating hotel jewelry thefts undercover, and he joined her for dinner, where he confronted Jeremiah.
Ririko provoked Jeremiah during dinner, where a ventriloquist's puppet made an obscene threat before Arnold Wesker hurried away. Back in the suite, Ririko's necklace box fell mysteriously, and she challenged Jeremiah to give her a dozen necklaces as he stepped toward her.
Ririko and Jeremiah investigated strange noises in her hotel room, but a necklace disappeared while they were together. Dick began searching for a small thief as Ririko vowed to punish whoever had taken it.
Ririko and Dick discovered that the Scarface Puppet could move on its own and was linked to the hotel’s jewelry thefts, but it escaped after Ririko put it in a washing machine and killed a cleaner. Ririko suspected Jeremiah had used her as bait and took Dick back to the suite, telling him to scream louder.
Ririko, Dick, and Jeremiah discovered that the Scarface Puppet had been controlling ventriloquist Arnold Wesker and tracked it to the puppet exhibition. After Ririko baited it with insults, Jeremiah struck it with a fire axe, splitting its wooden body.
Ririko’s attempt to profit from the Scarface Puppet ended with her jewelry confiscated, while Jeremiah delivered the captured puppet to Philip Kane and entered the Kane Family. Later, Ririko saw a trending story about Bruce Wayne with a mysterious woman and planned to ask about it indirectly by suggesting a family vacation to Hokkaido.
Harvey showed Ririko evidence suggesting Bruce had committed a murder before appearing at the scene as Batman, but Bruce arrived before they could discuss it further. Bruce then shared his investigation into Tommy and the Court of Owls, leading Ririko to realize she may have disrupted the Court's plans by helping Penguin become mayor.
Bruce was arrested after a restaurant owner was stabbed, and Ririko suspected the Court of Owls had framed him. She warned Oswald that the organization might target him next, but he brushed off the threat and tried to persuade her to marry him.
Elizabeth Crown confronted Mayor Cobblepot and demanded that he resign, threatening to expose evidence of his crimes. Oswald refused to back down and ordered Butch to follow Elizabeth and prepare to strike against the Court of Owls.
Ririko and Oswald tracked a woman from the Crown family to the Owlman Casino, where they heard that Batman had killed several people. Ririko found an impostor Batman in an alley, and he claimed that he was Bruce and that the Bruce in prison was fake.
Ririko confronted a Batman impostor who had Bruce Wayne’s exact face, then visited the real Bruce in police custody to tell him what happened. Bruce examined the impostor’s mask but could not explain the resemblance, leaving Ririko to suspect a twin or plastic surgery.
Ririko reassured Bruce after he learned that someone was impersonating him and killing as Batman, then went to meet his uncle Philip Kane. The chapter ended with her discovering that Philip spoke to her through a robot because he was socially anxious.
Ririko questioned Philip about how to expose the impostor who had framed Bruce, and Philip proposed luring the impostor into committing another crime while Bruce remained in custody. He introduced his security consultant as Jeremiah Valeska, leaving Ririko annoyed by their past encounters.
Ririko and Jeremiah planned to protect Bruce during his transfer to court, then Jeremiah showed her the Kane Family’s facilities and revealed his interest in leading its mercenaries. When Ririko questioned whether he was Jerome, their confrontation turned into a kiss, leaving her determined to make him repay what he owed her regardless of his identity.
Ririko learned that Tommy Elliot had planted bombs in Bruce’s and Oswald’s vehicles and chose to save Oswald, while Jeremiah alerted the Bomb Squad. Bruce’s transport remained in danger, and Harvey Dent volunteered to meet it.
Harvey rode with Bruce in the bomb-laden prisoner transport while Jeremiah and the Kane Family fought the attackers blocking the police rescue. Jeremiah targeted Hush, who escaped his wrecked saw car and confronted him face-to-face.
Ririko watched Harvey sacrifice himself to destroy the prison transport, then learned that Jeremiah and Jerome were two personalities of the same person and rejected Jeremiah. After Superman rescued Bruce and captured Hush, Ririko rushed into the woods to find them when she realized Bruce still needed to clear his name.
Ririko and Bruce captured Tommy Elliot after his own bomb disfigured him, and Harvey recovered as Bruce’s case ended. Bruce invited Clark Kent to a small celebration, where Clark arrived late after stopping an alien criminal on the way.
