With the charred corpses no longer blocking her way, Danyla easily reached the weirwood. Not a trace of green remained in the weirwood square. Everywhere she looked, there was nothing but cooled, glassy black rock.

The Great Dragons had devoured all the corpses near the weirwood, leaving only thin pieces of cooled, smoke-black iron scattered across the ground.

Danyla picked up a piece and sensed what lay within it. She discovered extremely concentrated fluctuations of magical energy, somewhat similar to those in Valyrian steel.

Unlike Valyrian steel, however, it could not bind all that magical energy within itself. Instead, the energy was slowly, constantly leaking out.

It seemed that even if these pieces of iron could be forged into weapons with properties comparable to Valyrian steel, they would not share its imperishability.

Fortunately, there was plenty of iron scattered around. By Danyla's rough estimate, it was enough to forge at least five hundred sets of armor and Valyrian Steel Swords, and their quality would surely be the finest in the world today.

Although this equipment would not endure for millennia like Valyrian steel, it should have no trouble remaining in peak condition for eighty to a hundred years.

I need to get people to collect this iron as soon as possible. If someone else picks it all up, I'll be the one losing out.

After inspecting the iron, Danyla walked toward the cave. Amoros, who had been busy devouring charred corpses, immediately crawled back in alarm when the Great Dragon saw her.

Amoros hissed at Danyla in agitation. Myracis, following behind Danyla, immediately took offense. She stepped between Amoros and Danyla and let out a piercing, furious roar.

Myracis's behavior warmed Danyla's heart.

My own child really is the closest to me!

Dreamfyre stopped feasting when she heard Myracis's roar
