Background / History
Qin Household and Sect Master Peak
Qin Feng is a direct-line descendant of the Qin Household, which has a Tribulation Transcendence powerhouse overseeing it. His father sent him to the Mystic Heaven Sword Sect hoping he would become an unyielding, decisive sword cultivator. Qin Feng once asked what a sword cultivator was, and Qin Ge told him to discover the answer himself 30 39.
Instead, Qin Feng became absorbed in seeking the affection of Sect Master Peak's five senior sisters. He supplied four of them with cultivation resources and materials for their auxiliary professions, while Su Miao neither accepted his favors nor favored Ye Zhiqiu over him 34 38 39.
His generosity undermined his own cultivation. He diverted his abode's spiritual energy into herb gardens for Jiang Qingci, supplied precious forging materials to He Lu, and returned to his household for a potentially fatal resource battle to obtain Jiang Qingci's requested premium Divine Origin Fruit. Despite these contributions, the women increasingly preferred Ye Zhiqiu 30 34.
Li Yang's Impersonation
With Crane-Cry Peak's secret-realm places exhausted, Lu Feng arranged for Li Yang to use Qin Feng's place and identity. Li Yang adopted his appearance with a disguise mask and occupied his wooden cabin on Sect Master Peak 29 30.
The apparent transformation in “Qin Feng” was actually Li Yang rejecting his senior sisters' demands and fighting under his name. These actions changed the sect's opinion of Qin Feng before the real man knew what had happened 30 35 39.
| Event credited to Qin Feng | Actual actor |
|---|---|
| Humiliating Ye Zhiqiu and fighting He Lu | Li Yang in disguise 31 |
| Killing Chu Du and other visiting challengers in the Life-and-Death Arena | Li Yang in disguise 33 35 39 |
| Defying the slain prodigies' powerful elders | Li Yang in disguise 37 |
| Leading the Ten Directions Sword Formation against the Myriad Venom Dynasty | Li Yang in disguise; the real Qin Feng participates as a follower 46 47 |
| Taking first place on the Slaughter Rankings with 478,000 points | Li Yang under Qin Feng's identity 49 |
Becoming Li Yang's Follower
After watching recordings of Li Yang's battles, Qin Ge asked him to keep Qin Feng nearby and teach him judgment, self-respect, and how to deal with female cultivators. Li Yang would remain “Qin Feng,” while the real Qin Feng would accompany him as a Qin Household servant 39.
To enforce the arrangement, Qin Ge extracted Qin Feng's soul blood and gave it to Li Yang. Once refined, it allowed Li Yang to silence him, control his actions to a degree, and even kill him. Qin Feng protested the arrangement and initially regarded Li Yang as a madman 39.
After hearing disciples praise the supposed change in him, Qin Feng began reconsidering his childhood question about the meaning of being a sword cultivator. He joined the expedition using the Qin Household's allocation rather than the sect place Li Yang had taken 39 40.
Secret-Realm Awakening
Qin Feng entered the secret realm alongside Li Yang and Ning Xi. Even after rebuilding his cultivation, he remained distressed by his senior sisters' attachment to Ye Zhiqiu and questioned Li Yang's lethal treatment of a seemingly friendly stranger 43 44.
The battle against the Myriad Venom Dynasty exposed him directly to Li Yang's combat control and willingness to defend mortals. Seeing Li Yang hold back the enemy while other sword cultivators rallied behind him finally broke Qin Feng's fixation on his five senior sisters. He accepted Li Yang as his role model and joined the Heavenly Origin Dynasty's counterattack 46 48.
After the victory, he continued with Li Yang, Ning Xi, and the accompanying sword cultivators toward Heavenly Spirit Commandery 49.
Appearance
- Handsome face and imposing bearing — reproduced by Li Yang's disguise mask 30.
- Family resemblance — Qin Ge's appearance resembles his son's 39.
- Servant disguise — travels without Mystic Heaven Sword Sect sword robes, wearing a Qin Household token that leads others to identify him as a clansman 40.
Personality
Initially, Qin Feng is intensely dependent on his senior sisters' approval. He gives away resources needed for his own cultivation, remains preoccupied with them even while being reprimanded by his father, and reacts painfully when they favor Ye Zhiqiu 30 39 40 43.
He is not immediately comfortable with Li Yang's ruthlessness. He fears the enemies Li Yang creates in his name and questions whether killing a stranger might harm an innocent person. His outlook changes through observation: first he recognizes Li Yang's lack of ingratiation toward Ning Xi, then he comes to admire his courage and leadership in battle 39 44 48.
Abilities & Skills
Geng Metal Spirit-Bone Physique
An innate physique that, according to Qin Ge, makes its bearer naturally stronger than an ordinary sword cultivator 39.
- Qin Ge expected him to refine a powerful metal-attribute Sword Pellet after reaching Foundation Establishment.
- A compatible Geng Metal Sword Pellet nevertheless refused to acknowledge him.
- His father hoped he might eventually pursue further training in the Xuanyuan Sword Sect; this remained an ambition, not an achieved affiliation 39.
Cultivation and Sword Flight
Qin Feng demonstrates exceptional cultivation aptitude when rebuilding his power in the secret realm 44.
- Returns to the first level of Foundation Establishment within half a month.
- Flies on a sword while exploring with Li Yang and Ning Xi.
- Participates in the life-and-death battle against the Myriad Venom Dynasty, though the formation's command and major victories belong to Li Yang 44 46 48.
Relationships
- Qin Ge — Father and household head. Entrusts Qin Feng to Li Yang despite the risk to his life, hoping to correct his wasted potential 39.
- Ling Wujie — Master and sect master. Helps arrange the impersonation and tries to limit the enemies Li Yang creates for the real Qin Feng 37 39 40.
- Li Yang — Impersonator, controlling master, and eventual role model. Their relationship begins with coercion but develops into Qin Feng's sincere admiration 39 48.
- Jiang Qingci — Second senior sister. Receives his herbs, demands a premium Divine Origin Fruit, and directs her refined pills to Ye Zhiqiu 30.
- He Lu — Third senior sister. Uses his valuable materials to forge Ye Zhiqiu's sword and disparages him despite benefiting from his support 30 34.
- Du Tinglan and Mu Ling'er — Senior sisters who benefit from his resources. Later acknowledge their debt while interacting with Li Yang under his identity 38.
- Su Miao — Fifth senior sister. Unlike the other four, accepts no favors from him and shows no preference for Ye Zhiqiu; defends “Qin Feng” during Li Yang's arena battles 34 38.
- Ye Zhiqiu — Younger fellow disciple favored by Qin Feng's senior sisters. His place among them causes Qin Feng jealousy and anguish 30 43.
- Ning Xi — Secret-realm companion. Her easy rapport with Li Yang helps Qin Feng recognize the contrast between genuine confidence and his own ingratiating behavior 44 48.
