Lu Feng met the White-Haired Man, who revealed his name as Luo Lian and spoke of a coming battle at Buzhou Mountain. Afterward, Luo Lian learned that the Kunlun Mirror was about to emerge and set out to claim it.
Lu Feng left Sword Valley after studying the Sword Martial Venerable’s and the Five Sacred Mountains Immortal King’s Sword Intents, then encountered Sun Jiuyang fleeing two Monster Tribe pursuers near the Kunlun Immortal Realm. Sun Jiuyang used news of Lu Feng’s two young mistresses to persuade him to help, and Lu Feng attacked the pursuers.
Lu Feng defeated two Daluo Golden Immortal monsters and forced Sun Jiuyang to explain what had happened to his two young ladies. Sun Jiuyang revealed that both had come to the Kunlun Immortal Realm for the Flat Peach Banquet and that the great families were pursuing a marriage alliance with Lu Feng’s Eldest Miss because of the Kun Yuan Sword.
Sun Jiuyang told Lu Feng his theory that the Kun Yuan Sword contained the Five Sacred Mountains Immortal King's insights into yin and yang, making it a prize the five great clans coveted. Their conversation was interrupted when Monster Tribe forces confronted Sun Jiuyang.
Lu Feng and Sun Jiuyang fought off a group of Monster Tribe pursuers, with Lu Feng killing them all after Sun Jiuyang used talismans to split their forces. Sun Jiuyang claimed he had never visited Deadwater, leaving Lu Feng puzzled about why the Dragon Clan had ordered his arrest.
Lu Feng learned that his past actions had caused Sun Jiuyang to be hunted, so he agreed to protect him until the scent marking him faded. They reached Sword City at the foot of Sword Finger Peak, where they planned to wait for the Sword Martial Venerable.
As Sword City filled with cultivators gathering for the Sword Martial Venerable’s Discourse, Lu Feng and Sun Jiuyang tried to disguise themselves before entering. After several mishaps with Sun Jiuyang’s headpieces, they approached the gates, where a massive war chariot suddenly charged toward them.
The arrival of Heavenly God Palace’s Ao Wuming and Shi Ziye at Sword City sparked a confrontation with Leng Chunqiu of the Sword-Washing Pool. As Shi Ziye traded insults with Leng Chunqiu, Kuang Tianhao appeared asking for a fight, and Lu Feng suspected he belonged to the Witch Clan.
Lu Feng witnessed powerful Dao-body contenders gather ahead of Senior Sword Martial Venerable’s discourse, as old rivalries flared and a fight was postponed until the Flat Peach Banquet. The Five Divine Swords and the Twin Dao Bodies entered the city after trading provocations, while Lu Feng wondered whether Su Yuexin had also arrived.
As the Sword Martial Venerable's Discourse drew near, Lu Feng and Sun Jiuyang watched innate Dao body bearers gather in Sword City and noticed Ao Wuming, the bearer of the sword spirit Dao body, and the bearer of the martial god Dao body secretly disguise themselves. Suspecting they had reserved an empty room at their inn to discuss something important, Lu Feng planted Sun Jiuyang's Thousand-Mile Sound Transmission Talisman there and hurried back to his room.
Lu Feng and Sun Jiuyang used a powerful talisman to spy on a secret meeting of several Dao body wielders. The meeting began with Kuang Tianhao asking whether someone with the five elements Dao body had appeared in the Five Sacred Mountains Divine Continent, leaving Lu Feng eager to hear what they would say about him.
Lu Feng and Sun Jiuyang listened as the gathered dao-body experts debated whether Lu Feng had a five elements dao body and how he had acquired his powers. The discussion ended with the revelation that five of them had joined forces against him and still lost.
Ao Wuming urged the strongest innate Dao bodies to unite against the Monster Tribe, Demon Race, and Witch Clan rather than repeat the Immortal Race’s destructive infighting. The group agreed to coexist peacefully, but Leng Chunqiu ended the meeting by demanding they lure out and kill the missing five elements Dao body.
The alliance of Innate Dao Bodies planned to lure out and kill Lu Feng before he grew stronger, while Ao Wuming refused to join because he had promised to fight Lu Feng fairly. Lu Feng learned that the conspirators might target Su Yuexin and paid Sun Jiuyang to restore the jade basin’s images and voices.
The Five Divine Swords debated how to lure out Lu Feng and considered using Su Yuexin as bait during the Flat Peach Banquet. Liu Ziqian opposed endangering his betrothed, but the light Dao body proposed staging a threat to her without harming her.
The Light Dao Body persuaded Liu Ziqian to help lure Lu Feng out by putting Su Yuexin in danger, while promising not to truly harm her. After Liu Ziqian left, the Light Dao Body revealed that the group planned to kill Su Yuexin and seize the Kun Yuan Sword regardless, and suggested using the Second Miss to threaten Lu Feng.
Lu Feng and Sun Jiuyang overheard the Light Dao Body’s plan to use Su Yuexin and Su Yuexi to force Lu Feng into revealing himself at Yaochi. Sun Jiuyang could not promise a solution, but agreed to accompany Lu Feng after the Sword Martial Venerable’s discourse, leaving Lu Feng still anxious as dawn arrived.
Lu Feng attended the Sword Martial Venerable’s discourse, hoping the revered swordsman might be his master, but discovered he was someone else. Unable to follow the profound teachings, Lu Feng asked for pictures, and the Sword Martial Venerable agreed to consider the request.
The Sword Martial Venerable manifested his insights into the sword, helping Lu Feng glimpse the true Returning Origin Sword. He then answered Ao Wuming’s question about the Dao by showing how people understood the same circle in different ways.
Sword Martial Venerable answered questions about his past, the previous era’s cultivation through dao patterns, and the origins and strengths of innate dao bodies. He left Ao Wuming’s question about which dao patterns were strongest unanswered.
Sword Martial Venerable explained the five Dao Patterns that could no longer produce Dao Bodies and revealed that the Pangu Bloodline surpassed the Five Elements Dao Body. After discussing Pangu’s possible return, he ended his lectures and departed, while Sun Jiuyang hurried Lu Feng away.
Lu Feng and Sun Jiuyang visited the Sword Martial Venerable on Sword Finger Peak to have their swords appraised. After answering Lu Feng’s question about Dao bodies, the Sword Martial Venerable took Sun Jiuyang’s Vast Righteous Qi Sword to examine it.
The Sword Martial Venerable identified Sun Jiuyang’s Vast Righteous Qi Sword as an Acquired Supreme Treasure whose power depended on its wielder’s character, not cultivation. After explaining merit and fortune, he left Lu Feng ready to show him the Rusty Sword and its scabbard.
Lu Feng asked the Sword Martial Venerable to identify his scabbard and the Rusty Sword, learning that the scabbard came from the rare Wutong Treasure Tree and the sword was connected to Pangu. The Sword Martial Venerable identified it as an unfinished artifact and began to consider how it might be completed.
Sword Martial Venerable warned Yuqing Daoist against pursuing the position of Supreme and risking another war, arguing that unforeseen powers could emerge. He hinted that Lu Feng or Sun Jiuyang might one day rival the Nine-Headed Heavenly Emperor, then let Yuqing decide what to do as Lu Feng and Sun Jiuyang departed.
