Power Progression
Historical recoveries and cultivation setbacks are included below. Temporary bloodline boosts are listed separately under Abilities & Skills.
| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Dou Wang — after regression | 172 174 | Injuries sustained on a Soul Palace mission ruined her bloodline and caused her cultivation to decline. She left the clan while only a Dou Wang. |
| Dou Zong — recovered | 174 | Recovered through her ancestral Earthen Jar and an unusual cultivation method, then joined the Soul Palace under the name Xingxiu. |
| Dou Zun — recovered | 174 | Returned to Dou Zun within a few years using Soul Palace resources and her own advantages; also restored her bloodline power. |
| Five-Star Dou Zun — established strength | 185 203 | Her underlying cultivation before the Ancient Emperor’s inheritance. Her ninth-grade bloodline could temporarily raise her aura to the peak of Seven-Star Dou Zun 175. |
| Cultivation sealed; bloodline damaged again | 177 178 | Hun Changqing destroyed much of her bloodline power and sealed her Dou Qi, leaving her unable to use her cultivation. This second injury did not reproduce her earlier inability to cultivate 197. |
| Dou Zong — partial access restored | 185 | After she partly broke his seal, Hun Changqing restored access to Dou Zong-level cultivation to speed their journey. |
| Peak Nine-Star Dou Zun; supreme god-grade bloodline | 198 199 203 | Successfully refined three compatible bloodline origins. Her cultivation rose from Five-Star to peak Nine-Star Dou Zun, approaching the Dou Qi compression needed for Super Dou Zun. |
| Lower Heaven Realm soul | 203 | The Morning Star Ancient Emperor converted his remaining soul into soul origin, raising her soul from the Spirit Realm and clearing its future bottlenecks toward the Emperor Realm. |
| One-Turn Dou Zun | 320 338 | Had completed her first Dou Qi compression by the Gu Clan visit. |
| Two-Turn Dou Zun | 339 | Reached after six months cultivating in the Heavenly Tomb’s Third Layer. |
| Peak Three-Turn Dou Zun | 344 | Advanced while supplied with numerous Dou Sheng Energy Crystal Cores, then stopped refining them to stabilize her cultivation. |
Background / History
Hun Tong belonged to the Morning Star Ancient Emperor’s direct lineage and was once the Soul Clan’s most outstanding female prodigy. Her ninth-grade bloodline made her a celebrated talent, but severe injuries during a Soul Palace mission destroyed that advantage and sent her cultivation into decline. The clan neglected her afterward, while her older brother Hun Ye supported her through his service as a Protector 172 198.
Rather than remain in a courtyard protected by a Dou Di restriction, she took her family’s ancient black Earthen Jar and left the clan. She initially sought only a way to gather Dou Qi again, not a complete restoration of her bloodline. The jar eventually provided an unusual cultivation method; using it, she ravaged low-ranking clans and left no intact corpses behind 174.
After recovering to Dou Zong, she entered the Soul Palace as Xingxiu and subsequently returned to Dou Zun. She refused an invitation to join Heavenly Dipper Hall and requested the Northwest Continent Branch Hall instead. Her ancestor’s message had identified a hidden Dou Di inheritance in that region, but a magical beast tribe led by a Nine-Star Dou Zun prevented her from reaching it 174.
Although her strength and bloodline had recovered, she did not return to the Soul Clan. Its members continued to believe her dead until Hun Changqing recognized her beneath the Constellation Venerable’s destroyed hood 172 173.
Appearance
- Hair and eyes: Long, silky silver hair, dark brows, and eyes repeatedly compared to brilliant stars 178 179 344.
- Complexion: Pale, jade-like skin and finely sculpted features 199 344.
- Bearing: Naturally cool and aloof; after refining her ancestral bloodline, she acquired an especially noble, commanding presence and faint imperial pressure 199 203.
- Clothing: Appears after her awakening in an unpatterned silver palace gown carrying flowing starlight, standing barefoot in the void. She later wears a pale blue dress during her battle with Gu Xun’er 199 345.
- Concealed identity: Initially wears a hood that hides both her face and gender until it is destroyed in battle 172.
Personality
Xingxiu is proud, aloof, and intensely committed to cultivation. Before meeting Hun Changqing, she cared principally about her strength and her brother, rejecting the gifted young men who pursued her. Her refusal to accept lifelong decline drove her to leave the clan despite the danger and eventually recover her former talent 174 177 179.
Her determination also has a ruthless side. She destroyed low-ranking clans to rebuild her cultivation, accepted a potentially fatal bloodline refinement, and later supported Hun Changqing’s plan even when he warned that it could kill ancestors of her own branch 174 198 348.
Hun Changqing’s captivity and abuse profoundly changed her emotional state. Hatred became entangled with unwanted desire and dependence, followed by an obsessive attachment. After their relationship developed in the ancestral estate, his sustained tenderness eased her earlier turmoil, but her domineering possessiveness remained 178 179 196 203 205.
She treats perceived romantic rivals as threats to eliminate rather than people to compete with for affection. This drives her hostility toward Huo Zhi, Gu Xun’er, Ya Fei, and Saint Molan. Eventually, however, she accepts that Hun Changqing has other companions and stops targeting Poseidon City 320 323 479 480 577.
Abilities & Skills
Supreme God-Grade Bloodline
- Refines three bloodline origins preserved by the Morning Star Ancient Emperor, restoring her damaged bloodline at a level comparable to his first-generation descendants 197 198 199.
- Possesses the most concentrated Dou Di bloodline of her era, according to the account of her transformation 203.
- Temporarily raises her aura from Two-Turn to Seven-Turn Dou Zun during the confrontation with Yan Yuan, and from peak Three-Turn to Seven-Turn during her battle with Gu Xun’er 339 342 345.
- Before this inheritance, her ninth-grade bloodline raised her Five-Star cultivation to an aura just short of Eight-Star Dou Zun 175 203.
- Contains immense vitality, supporting recovery from severe injuries 345.
Starlight Techniques
- Projects concentrated starlight and Dou Qi as destructive beams or pillars; uses these against Yan Clan disciples and the women in Poseidon City 339 480.
- Condenses stars into defensive formations, though their construction can be interrupted by a sufficiently fast attack 346.
- Uses starlight to activate the black disc concealing a passage into her ancestor’s hidden legacy chamber 204.
Extreme Star Origin-Covering Seal
- Arranges stars into a vast formation that condenses into an enormous crushing seal 345.
- Uses the technique after fully activating her bloodline and reaching a Seven-Turn Dou Zun aura 345.
- Gu Xun’er’s Wheel-less Separation Flame Disc cancels the attack, demonstrating that the seal is not an assured victory against unusually powerful lower-ranked opponents 345.
Starlight-Tempered Body and Healing
- Her ancient emperor bloodline and starlight tempering give her enough physical strength to kill some Dou Zun experts beginning their energy compression with a single punch 345.
- Fights through devastating injuries during close-quarters combat with Gu Xun’er 345.
- Channels warm starlight into wounds to repair them; her healing is slower than Gu Xun’er’s Life Spirit Flame 345.
Stars and Moon in Union
- Combines her starry manifestation with Hun Changqing’s luminous crescent, drawing their auras into one another and greatly increasing their joint power 342.
- Together, they need not fear a late-stage Half-Saint, but their combined strength remains insufficient against the genuine Dou Sheng Yan Yuan 343.
Soul Cultivation and Bloodline Sensing
- Possesses a lower Heaven Realm soul after receiving her ancestor’s soul origin, with the bottlenecks toward an Emperor Realm soul removed 203.
- Detects relatives of her specific ancestral lineage within the Heavenly Tomb and uses that connection to summon assistance 342 343.
- Senses Hun Feng approaching the Third Layer entrance 339.
Soul Clan Secret Arts
- Knows numerous forbidden arts through her former standing and direct Dou Di lineage 308.
- Teaches Hun Changqing every Soul Clan secret method she knows. This knowledge later enables him to manipulate restrictions on Soul Palace Dou Zun and sacrifice them to create the Demon-Blood Blade of Annihilation 308.
Combat Limits
- Must consolidate her cultivation step by step despite access to abundant Dou Sheng Energy Crystal Cores 344.
- Has finite Dou Qi reserves: repeated powerful attacks exhaust more than half her energy during her battle with Gu Xun’er 346.
- Cannot overcome every rank gap through bloodline power; both Yan Yuan’s Dou Sheng strength and Gu Xun’er’s exceptional constitution expose limits to her advantages 343 345 346.
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Ancient black Earthen Jar — Family heirloom left by the Morning Star Ancient Emperor. Its activation provides the cultivation method that enables her recovery and reveals the location of his inheritance 174.
- Earthen Jar’s matching lid — Her ancestor explains the uses of joining it with the jar; the supplied passages do not detail those functions 205.
- Origin Qi crystal — Obtained from her ancestor’s hidden legacy. Contains the energy required to break through to Dou Di; she protects it in a precious jade box inside nested Storage Rings 204 205.
- Storage Rings — Used to secure her crystal and other possessions 205.
Relationships
- Hun Changqing / Youhun / Ghost Soul — Initially her enemy and captor, later her lover and closest ally. Their relationship develops from coercion and revenge into mutual cultivation plans, though her possessiveness remains a recurring source of conflict 173 177 196 200 203 205.
- Hun Ye — Older twin brother who supports her after her original injury. Hun Changqing repeatedly uses threats against him to pressure her 172 175 185 221.
- Morning Star Ancient Emperor — Dou Di ancestor whose inheritance restores and elevates her bloodline. His remnant soul protects her, guides her refinement, and finally becomes soul origin to strengthen her soul 195 197 198 203.
- Unnamed Heavenly Tomb ancestor — Former head of her lineage. Answers her distress signal, subdues Yan Yuan, and recognizes her bloodline as a hope for the family’s revival 342 343.
- Hun Feng — Predecessor as Young Patriarch and a target of her hostility. Her authority eclipses his, and she suppresses his aura when he confronts Hun Changqing 203 319 339.
- Gu Xun’er — Romantic rival and dangerous opponent. Their confrontation escalates into a lethal battle that Hun Changqing interrupts 323 344 345 346.
- Huo Zhi — Initially marked for death because Xingxiu suspects Hun Changqing is interested in her; Xingxiu later apologizes after accepting his explanation for saving her 320 338.
- Ya Fei and Saint Molan — Hun Changqing’s companions whom she attacks upon their arrival in the Soul Realm. She later stops pursuing them 479 480 577.
- Hun Tu — Blocks her attack on Ya Fei and Saint Molan under the Clan Chief’s protection orders, forcing her to withdraw 480.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Defeat and Captivity
Hun Changqing defeats Constellation Venerable and recognizes her as Hun Tong. To preserve her usefulness while preventing retaliation, he threatens her brother, damages her bloodline, and seals her cultivation. During the ensuing captivity, she struggles with hatred, trauma, and unwanted attachment 172 175 177 178.
When the Yin Soul Banner’s principal soul attacks her, Hun Changqing intervenes and comforts her. He later restores limited access to her cultivation and orders her to guide him to the supposed abode of Saint Qianmu 181 182 185.
The Ancient Emperor’s Inheritance
Xingxiu uses the name Saint Qianmu to conceal the abode’s true owner: her own Dou Di ancestor. She hopes his restrictions will bring Hun Changqing down, but when the Morning Star Ancient Emperor nearly kills him, she pleads for his life and insists on settling their conflict herself 190 195 196.
She then risks death to refine three ancestral bloodline origins. Her successful awakening reverses their balance of power, allowing her to overpower Hun Changqing. Over the following year, their relationship changes as he promises a shared future and treats her with sustained tenderness 198 199 200 203.
Before leaving, she opens her ancestor’s hidden legacy chamber. The discovery of Origin Qi gives both of them a concrete route toward their promise to become Dou Di together 204 205.
Young Patriarch and the Heavenly Tomb
After returning to the Soul Clan, Xingxiu becomes Young Patriarch and secures Hun Changqing a Heavenly Tomb entry. By the Gu Clan visit, most Soul Clan disciples look to her rather than Hun Feng for direction 316 319.
Inside the tomb, she kills Yan Clan disciples, advances through the Dou Zun compression stages, and summons an ancestor when Yan Yuan threatens them. She pledges to restore her lineage’s glory, then guards Hun Changqing’s breakthrough while stabilizing her own cultivation 339 342 343 344.
Her battle with Gu Xun’er exposes the limits of her bloodline and reserves; Hun Changqing prevents a potentially fatal attack. Xingxiu subsequently supports his plans involving her branch’s ancestors and makes preparations outside while he infiltrates Xiao Xuan’s tomb using Xiao Yan’s body 346 348 350.
Clan Politics and Later Reunions
After Hun Feng’s death, Xingxiu prevents Soul Clan elders from immediately attacking Gu Xun’er and returns to report the incident. Her reputation among admirers from other ancient clans also lends credibility to accusations against the Gu Clan 355 356.
Hun Changqing later warns her to avoid deep involvement in the Soul–Gu Clan war, especially encounters with Gu Xun’er. She follows his instruction to remain behind during the Eastern Region crisis, but attacks Ya Fei and Saint Molan after learning of their connection to him 463 479 480.
Following that failed confrontation, Xingxiu gradually accepts his other relationships. She withdraws into cultivation while worrying about his disappearance, and reunites with him upon his eventual return 577.
